The Westin Excelsior, Florence

Florence Historic Center Florence|0.44km from Italian Opera in Santa Monaca Church
The hotel is located on the banks of the Arno River. The main entrance of the hotel is directly opposite the French consulate. There is a small square in front of the hotel. You can temporarily park your car temporarily and open small markets on weekends. Five minutes walk along the river bank is Uffizi Gallery, Old Bridge! The window opened in the room is directly opposite the Baihua Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the church can be opened to the full view of the church. The left hand old bridge and the right hand Holy Trinity Bridge, the view is excellent! The bedding is comfortable, the room area is relatively large in Italy, classical and luxurious. The only dissatisfaction was that the booking fee was clearly the money for the river view room, but the front desk said that the reservation was only for a superior room. But polite and old-fashioned at the same time, because I emphasized that if it was n’t for the river view room, there would be no meaning to live here. The front desk said that I was sorry the room was full, and I could upgrade to the river view room on the balcony of the administrative floor if I added 200 euros. After expressing dissatisfaction, I asked to wait at the front desk for a while, but also forced them to check the room again, and finally got this river-view room without replenishment! I don't know if this is the case, it is Ctrip or the hotel routine.

Palazzo Guicciardini

Liked · The room was HUGE .. literally you could play football in it! Grand room with very high ceilings .. felt like we were truly in a Palazzo with wonderful frescos in the ceiling The location of across the bridge from the Ponte Vecchio and I think I would prefer to have been on the more central part of town if I am honest. Disliked · Its actually too big .. to the point that heating or cooling takes at least an hour to get to the required temperature! The bathroom is small and the one major issue we had was the smell. Really bad gutter smell when we arrived and the rooms smell got progressively worse! Breakfast is a croissant and some fruit so very basic and one person seems to do everything .. front desk, room assistance, serving coffee and brekkie etc
Santo Spirito Venti

This four room small lodging was perfect for our Florence visit. It’s located on the third level of a large building. You have to walk up one level to the elevator but the owner carries our bags up for us. Our room was sparkling clean and attractive with a tv and instant coffee and tea and a refrigerator. The shower is small but workable. They don’t serve breakfast but our rate includes a voucher for a local restaurant for 7€ each per day of stay. The location is perfect for walking to different places. The host recommended some great restaurants, too. We loved it.
Hotel Palazzo Guadagni

Finally a hotel with a bit of personality! Palazzo Guadagni in Piazza Santo Spirito in Florence is an ancient building which houses a hotel on the third floor which can be easily reached by lift. The hotel is fortunately not very large but the rooms are huge and very welcoming: antique furniture and very comfortable beds as well as a TV and mini bar of course. The bathroom is comfortable enough. A series of old-fashioned lounges and a suitable breakfast room with attractive tables and chairs complete the interior. But the fantastic thing is the large Loggia, also located on the third floor, which houses tables and armchairs - as well as ”heaters” that allow you to use them even in winter - and where in the evening they serve various aperitifs as well as sandwiches, various crostini and clubs sandwiches. Wonderful ! Very courteous and efficient staff. What more can I say? Price more than acceptable.
Hostel Santa Monaca

Location is optimum and it's walking distance to all the monuments and hang out locations. I stayed at the hostel during July and it was extremely hot, the air-conditioning was good but it couldn't keep up with the heat of a Florentine summer. The building is a old commune and inside is like a rabbit hole, can get a little confusing and compared to other hotels I've stayed it's very out dated. Perhaps works well for school groups. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful with anything I needed at the hostel and also information about Florence.

The scenery is good, the riverside, quiet in the middle of noisy. The location is good, there are many restaurants around, especially the Italian restaurant and an ice cream shop on the corner. Don't be afraid of the number of people in the queue. Good service, arrange for someone to wait, and be responsible. However, if you are not interested in the hotel, please consider.
Casa Santo Nome di Gesu

I can't express into words how amazing this place was. I'd give it a ten if I could. It's situated on the north side of Florence in a quiet area beside a beautiful church. The rooms were spacious, beautiful and clean. We had a room with the most beautiful view I've ever had in any hotel. Please don't miss out on staying here. Mind you it's a guesthouse,so no roomservice and breakfast is served in the nearby café which was lovely. I could have stayed here for months.
