Comfortable stay
We had a lovely stay. It was a busy weekend at the house with lots of guests. Rooms were comfortable. All very close together.

Nice house, caring staff.
There was mistake with the days of my trip but Almara House was very efficient and she solved the problem sending us to another hotel with similar facilities. She drove us to the new hotel and she was in contact with us to know if eveything was ok.

Great stay!
I loved Almara house and will plan to stay there again. It's a wonderful value and a very comfortable place. The hosts are amazing.

Il nostro soggiorno in questo B&B è stato semplicemente meraviglioso! Sin dal primo momento siamo stati accolti con calore e gentilezza, facendoci sentire come a casa. La posizione è ottima. C'è parcheggio gratuito e a portata di mano c'è la fermata del bus che ti porta in centro a Galway. Le camere sono spaziose, pulitissime. Al mattino il proprietario ci ha preparato una colazione come desideravamo. Il vero punto di forza, però, è l'ospitalità dei proprietari: sempre pronti a dare consigli preziosi sui luoghi da visitare, i ristoranti da provare e le escursioni da fare nei dintorni. Ci hanno fatto sentire ospiti speciali, e non vediamo l'ora di tornare. Se cercate un luogo autentico e accogliente dove soggiornare a Galway, questo B&B è la scelta perfetta. Un'esperienza che supera ogni aspettativa!

Tony greeted us on our arrival and explained everything we needed to know about buses, interesting locations to see etc. The room was spotless with plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. The breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere extremely friendly. Bus stop outside the house (30 second walk) will bring you to the centre of town in 10 minutes for €1.90c. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be booking a stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Almara House, on our tour around Ireland, with a couple of friends. We had stayed at other B&B's on our trip, but non compared to the Almara. The warmth and friendship shown by our hosts was incomparable. Maire went above and beyond to assist with any request. Nothing was too much trouble. I have seen some bad reviews written here, and can only assume they refer to stays at Almara House, before Maire and her husband Tony took over ownership less than a couple of months ago. The house is warm and inviting and very comfortable. Breakfast is superb. I would most certainly stay here again. Maire is a gem. A true example of Irish hospitality at its best.

I stayed at Almara House over night as I had to go into the Galway Clinic, early the next morning. Once the door opened I was received with a warm welcome from Máire. It was like visiting a very close family member. She couldn't do enough for you 🥰 my room was on the ground floor as I used crutches. The room was very compact. Bed very comfy. Room warm. It had tea/coffee facilities. TV. Plenty of sockets. Bathroom comprised of Shower. Sink & big bath Towel & 2 hand towels. shampoo, conditioner & shower gel. There was quite a few staying that night. I slept like a log. Breakfast was Plenty. Lots to choose from. I relaxed in there living room before I left & Márie bought me a coffee. This woman is amazing. I asked for a Taxi to bring me to the Clinic & she wouldn't hear of it & her wonderful husband Tony brought me. This couple made my visit to Galway so wonderful. Im home recovering from my surgery but I will be back again to Almara House. Next time for a holiday. 100 stars. It's the perfect location.

Didn't see when booking that this is a B&B. Found out after arriving thats what it was. There is limited parking here, so if there isn't a spot in front of the house (4 total) then you have to park in the drive under the tree. The entry and exit is desigened to direct you a certain direction so it makes you take wider turns which was a little hazardous. The bed was nice but took up most of the room. So if you need a lot of space for luggage you wont have it. The bathroom is big enough for 1 person with a small stand up shower. If you have used one before its not a big deal, but could be difficult for a foreigner. The staircase is very narrow, so again, if you have a lot of luggage its hard to go up and down and kind of hazardous. Breakfast was good, Marie is very nice.
