Hotels near Royal Selangor in George Town

It's a pleasant stay. We love the location as it's easy to travel around Georgetown, Penang Hill n even to Batu Ferringhi with the local bus! The New Lane Street Food is just less than 5 mins walk down the road n the famous fried fish n Bee Hoon in the morning. I especially love the 24 hours gymn. The staff in charge was quick to repair the weight lifting equipment n top up the supply of the mineral water. The only minus point is that the lighting can be a little bit brighter. As a whole, we are happy staying here n shall return in the near future.

Value for money. A nicely decorated budget hotel in a tourist atrraction area. Room was small, but well maintained. The staff was friendly & helpful. For small price i paid, scrumpcious breakfast was provided in a nice small cafe.Parking was difficult in that area,luckily this hotel provided a parking space for guests. A bit under the bed when i moved it to provide space for prayer area.

Last minute booking. Had low expectation since it’s an old hotel. It is very well maintained and very clean. Amenities are very good as well. Their health club is really good, had the chance to use their gym, sauna and jacuzzi. Nice view!

Honestly, feel very sorry for this hotel... They just took over from the previous owner and revamp it to look super nice and all facilities that are needed will be provided (drinking bottles in the room, water dispenser shared fridge in the hall, bath shampoo in the shared toilet, bath bags , adjustable wall-hooked smart TV, etc), way better than the 3stars hotel! Its such a rare find to pay such price and having 2 beds! The staffs are full of sweet smiles and kindness and very polite, they deserve praises for their good attitude and hospitality! If the night didn't come, this would have win our family's favorite of all time! If the night didn't come, I would crazily shared all the lovely photos and recommend to friends and families.. If only.. We stayed in Family 3 Pax - Shared Bathroom (lvl2), which is facing the main street. During the day, we noticed the street noise was quite loud in the room but is bearable for the on-off motorbikes and buses. HOWEVER, by night time, we were caught by surprise! There's a closed bar, 1945, with booming music going on non-stop with disco-like party! And because the room wall is just connected to this bar/restaurant, the vibration from the blasting music was really strong. There seems to be some unauthorized activities behind the closed door as you can hear the patrons getting too high, screaming on the street. And lots of motorbikes randomly parked around, so we were pretty worried about car getting vandalized/scratched as well. The party only ends by 3AM in the morning, so which means we only get to sleep by then. I did noticed that most of the reviews didn't mentioned this, only 1 or 2 so either everyone else's room is not directly affected like this room or they're out partying too :) I would say... if you're young and not a light-sleeper, do give this hotel a chance but just skip this particular room!

The hospitality so extraordinary. The staffs were very friendly and polite. Behaved very professionally too. Rooms were clean and comfortable as well. Loved everything about the place. As a birthday gift , they provided a slice of cheesecake too. Not to forget the wine as compensation .❤️❤️✨

We had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, the room was spotlessly clean, and the views were breathtaking. Everything was fine, no high expectation since it's a budget hotel. Room for improvement for receptionist- they should be trained to be more friendly, warm and welcoming. Both receptionist on duty day and night were cold, unattentive and not friendly at all.

Just nice . Clean room but to small its okey for 2 person . The toilet very small space but clean . Everything good . Aircond good .

We came from KL to perform in a dinner show, booked 5 rooms. The ambiance upon arriving was awesome with a nice open concept lobby with stunning view. Its a middle-east kind of design & concept. Staffs are mostly local malays with kind & respective behaviour. Rooms are standard with full facilities, as well as choice of breakfast. Overall we are overwhelmed with a one-nite stay in a real 5 star hotel over Kepala Batas.
