The hotel is very new, and the facilities are smart. The beach is beautiful. In addition, sea activities, such as glass bottom boats and snorkeling (requires good swimming skills) are free. The breakfast at the beach rough restaurant is delicious, and the dinner is different every night. However, the basic set menu of the AI KISU restaurant that requires a reservation requires additional payment. In addition, although it is a fusion dish, it looks high-end, but it is not delicious! If I come again, I will choose this hotel again…

The hotel is located in Dawan. According to the locals, it is a lively place at night. Most of the guests are French. There are many bars and restaurants nearby. The highlight is super U, walking in the past 15 no more than 15 minutes, everything inside. The breakfast at the hotel is European and it feels like the Novotel in China. Dinner buffet is okay, and it is quite satisfactory. Highly recommended ”Grill” restaurant near the hotel, very delicious The hotel room is about the same level as the French local hotel. It is not particularly good, the room is not big, and no disposable toiletries are provided.

We just spent a wonderful week at the Veranda Grand Baie. We chose it because looking at the photos online it looked authentically Creole, and as architects we much prefer decor that is authentic to the local culture. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The dinner and entertainment on Christmas Eve were fabulous. There was a choir of children singing that were very charming. The beach activities are free and lots of fun. Curran and Anya run the boat house and took us snorkelling which was fantastic. Also have kayaks and paddle boat for guest use. We were the lucky winners of the Christmas draw and were gifted and amazing lunch at the Chateau de bel ombré, a beautiful historic home, where we had one of the best meals we have ever eaten.

The rooms are great, especially the fully equipped kitchen, which is better than hotel apartments in Europe, Australia, and South America. It is especially suitable for Chinese cuisine. The supermarket is next door. There are tofu, pepper, seafood, and meat. These ingredients are super good. It feels like a kid, it feels great. The people here are relatively prosperous, the people live a leisurely life, the common people play football next to them, and swim and chat by the sea. The climate is very good, much more comfortable than Australia and Thailand, not hot. The plants are lush, sitting on the balcony at night, and the breeze is blowing slowly. It is really Mark Twain who let people enter the dreamland. ”God created Mauritius, and then imitated it to create the Garden of Eden.”

This boutique hotel is the definition of a ”hidden gem”. Very well maintained and efficiently run, with beautiful decor and a personal touch. With their warm welcome I felt at home every day. The staff are amazing and will go to lengths to make your stay a memorable one. Big thank you to Nashira, Steve and Joyti, for taking such good care of all the guests and always making us feel special! The breakfast was lovely and they have just built a restaurant/bar on-site as well. The hotel is in a quiet area, away from the main road, walking distance from the local beach, restaurants and dive centers, and an easy bus ride to the next villages. Big thanks to John and Dimitri for being such wonderful hosts, and especially for the extra support you so kindly gave when I had to extend my stay due to unforeseen medical circumstances.
