Hotels in Gulou District, Kaifeng

LOCATION is great. Just beside drum tower and a very nice bookstore street which alos transforms into a street market at night. My room faces the road so there's some road noise but it's not a major thoroughfare at night so it gets quiet after late night with some light honking occasionally. The room type I bought has lots of living room space which I like. No lack of food options absolutely if you stay here

Traveling with family, we were looking for a hotel with large twin beds, and we found this one that actually had two 1.8-meter beds! It's perfect for families with two children. We opted for the 1.8m and 1.3m family suite, which came with a living room and was quite spacious. The massage chair was brand new and very comfortable. The hotel service was excellent; the front desk staff proactively introduced local attractions during check-in, recommended places to eat, and even provided a tourist map. They also have a laundry room with a dryer, which is very convenient. For just over 200 during the off-season, it was an incredible value. It's also very close to Kaifeng Mansion, just a few hundred meters away. We managed to rush with our two kids and even caught the opening ceremony!

Hygiene: The hotel is very clean. Amenities: The smart toilet and children's amenities are well-equipped. Environment: It has a classic garden style. My daughter loved the guqin (a Chinese musical instrument); she started strumming it as soon as she saw it. We didn't have time to take photos at the scenic spot, but the hotel itself was very picturesque. Service: The staff were very enthusiastic and had a great attitude. They even gave a small gift to my child. The breakfast tasted good too.

This hotel is in a very convenient location, right next to the famous 'First Building' restaurant. It's also just a seven to eight-minute walk to the Gulou Night Market. The hotel even upgraded me to a family room... which unexpectedly came with one large bed and one standard bed, both with Mickey Mouse bedding. The room was quite clean, but the lighting was really dim. It was hard to even apply foundation properly, I couldn't tell where I'd missed a spot. The bathroom door was also awkwardly placed; when open, it blocked the sink. 🤣 Surprisingly, the hotel also offers a late-night snack service with beer. The front desk area was quite lively at night with guests going to get mini wontons. However, you can only redeem them after 10 PM, and the front desk seemed understaffed, so it was a bit chaotic during redemption. Breakfast is on the 6th floor. It had all the usual offerings, including noodles and mini wontons, but the taste was just average, and the milk wasn't very good. The front desk on the seventh floor also provides traditional costumes for guests to borrow and take photos. Upon checkout, I even received a souvenir. Overall, it was decent. The main reason I chose it was for the convenience on my last day; I planned to visit an attraction in the morning, then eat at the 'First Building' restaurant, and it was handy to pick up my luggage right next door afterwards.

I had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and it was great value for money. The service was warm and attentive. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance.

First off, let's talk about the location. It's right next to Kaifeng Mansion, literally just 200 meters from the entrance. Super close, and parking is convenient and free. Secondly, the environment and hygiene are excellent. This is a newly opened hotel this year, and the bedding is very comfortable – the mattress is just the right firmness. The toiletries are of particularly good quality, and the bathroom is spotlessly clean; the cleaning staff clearly pays attention to details. Thirdly, the service is fantastic; everyone from the front desk to the restaurant staff is very welcoming, making you feel right at home. And most importantly, the breakfast offers a wide variety of choices, and no matter when you eat, the food is always hot. Oh, I almost forgot, you can buy discounted tickets for Kaifeng Mansion at the front desk, which are cheaper than online prices and valid for both day and night sessions. Next time I'm in Kaifeng, I'll definitely stay here again – it's not far from any of the attractions.

The hotel's location is great, right next to Gulou Night Market, and from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room, you can see Daxiangguo Temple. It's also not far from Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, about 2-3 kilometers, and a taxi ride costs less than 10 RMB. The room is exceptionally spacious and very clean, with complete facilities including a smart toilet, Tmall Genie (smart speaker), massage chair, bathtub, and a large projector. The hotel even provides bathtub liners, bubble bath liquid, foot soaking tubs, and heated eye masks. After a tiring day of sightseeing, you can come back to the room, get a massage, take a bath, or soak your feet to relax. During the day, the lobby offers watermelon and small snacks, and in the evening, there are cocktails and late-night supper. The service is very warm and welcoming; whether it's the front desk staff or the cleaning aunties, everyone is always smiling and ready to help. I'm very satisfied with this trip!

A high-rise standalone hotel in the old town, with friendly service. Newly opened, with complete and comfortable facilities. Drawbacks: The bathroom layout is inefficient; the shower is inside the toilet area. Breakfast is mediocre, not ideal for consecutive stays, with repetitive dishes, and one day there was even hair in a cold dish.

Choosing Kaifeng Time Boiling Rain B&B was one of the best decisions during my trip to Kaifeng. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the owners, who were incredibly kind, friendly, and always willing to help. Their hospitality made me feel at home throughout my stay. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and offers excellent value for money. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing after a full day of sightseeing. The peaceful atmosphere made every night comfortable and enjoyable. 📍 What makes this hotel truly special is its fantastic location. Many of Kaifeng’s most popular attractions are within walking distance. The famous Drum Tower and its lively Night Market are just a short stroll away, where I spent my evenings enjoying delicious local street food, traditional snacks, and the vibrant atmosphere.
