About five minutes from Chinatown, the location is very good, quiet in the middle of noisy. The same 17-square-meter room is much more spacious than the Hilton Hotel near Paddington. Breakfast is a regular croissant breakfast with milk, coffee, juice, bread, poached eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. The most important thing is to walk to Bond Street and the shopping mall Sey Fridge is also ten minutes. The price is really high, I will book this hotel again next time I come to the UK.

This hotel really is our home from home. This visit was booked so we could attend the theatre and see Sister Act. We received a very warm welcome from the doorman John as he welcomed us back to the hotel. It is lovely that you are remembered and greeted so warmly. At checkin we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel with a courtyard view. We always ask to have a street view room so we’re disappointed. Very quickly this was acknowledged and a new room was allocated. After a quick freshen up we headed for afternoon tea. We have enjoyed afternoon tea here before, but new cakes and such a varied array of teas makes this an joyous adventure all over again. The service is second to none and so much food to enjoy. John arranged a taxi for us in readiness for the theatre so we could relax before we left. On return from the theatre we enjoyed the cocktails in Donovan’s bar and the bar tender and waiter were an asset to the team, so friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. After a fantastic nights sleep and an amazing breakfast in our room, it was time to check out. It is always sad to leave such amazing surroundings and staff, but we are looking forward to visiting the Rocco Forte sister hotel in Rome in September and returning to our home from home Brown’s in October!

The Dilly was probably amazing in the 1980's and 1990's but not much has been updated since then! We stayed in a Dilly Classic room which was perfectly fine, a good size, clean with strong Wifi. The shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. I know some people on this site weren't impressed by the breakfast but I thought it was great. Obviously, the location is fabulous. However, I didn't feel the room was up to five-star standard. The coffee was instant and the milk small UHT cartons. There was no fridge or mini-bar (though we were in the 'cheapest' room so may be different elsewhere). The toiletries were cheap and basic (so bring your own), there was no plug by the bed to charge devices overnight and no Blu-tooth speaker which seems to be a given now in higher-end hotels. The style of the room itself was quite dated including the landline next to the toilet which I'm sure was incredibly cool in 1986 :) Overall, if this was a three-or-four-star hotel I'd give it full marks, but as it's a five-star, (and more importantly charging five-star prices), it's lacking in some areas. I believe the hotel is currently 'between owners' which makes sense, as I guess the current owners don't want to invest and are ticking along until the new ones take over. It's not dreadful by any means, but they charge a lot for what you get.

Truly an experience. My wife and I brought my mom to London for her 80th birthday, as afternoon tea at The Ritz was still on her bucket list. She had no idea I booked our stay there as well, and the Rolls Royce pickup from the airport. The hotel itself is what you expect, the Luis XVI style common areas and rooms are beautiful, but what really makes the place memorable, are the people. From our first contact with Johan, and our check in with Giacomo, Gavin, Roberto everyone was fantastic throughout our stay. The amount of time that the folks at reception are willing to spend just chatting and sharing stories with you is something you just don't find elsewhere. Many thoughtful interactions with my mom as the whole place seemed to know her big birthday was coming up. It was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you everyone at the Ritz for making it happen.

Good location, right next to Trafalgar Square, next to Tesco express and Macdonald. The hotel room is also large. Friendly service, you can order Chinese food with just eat. The room has a microwave. Hygiene is average, seems gray, and the bathroom has a slight odor. There is no own parking lot. There is a cooperative parking lot on the other side of the square. You can park temporarily at the door and drop your luggage before going to the parking lot. Parking is 44 pounds a day and about 37 pounds with a hotel coupon. There are actually two hotels here, one is grand and the other is cq. I booked grand but lived in Cq. I do n’t know how to arrange it. When the hotel is not busy, it is sold at 7-800, and the price is good. After all, it is close to the Thames and other attractions.

This hotel gives me a better feeling. Conveniently located on a hillside, trains and tracks can be seen in front of the hotel. After many many years, I decided to return to the Mermaid Suite because for some reason, hotel prices in London had skyrocketed in late March 2022 and four-stars asked for 250-300 EUR / night. I paid only 83 EUR / night, excluding breakfast, which was a fair price. The hotel hadn’t changed at all from how I remember it from years past. There is a very small 1st floor reception area, where I was quickly checked in by the receptionist, who was not directly unfriendly but won’t win any customer service awards either. As the key card didn’t work initially, he came with me to let me in through the door on the opposite side of the street; the rooms are spread out in several buildings along Blenheim Street. It gives the place a residential flair, which I like. My single room was small but adequate for a two-star. It felt reasonably clean. There was a rather narrow single bed, a small desk + chair, a closet and a small bathroom. No fridge, no safe or other amenities. The blinds did little to keep the room dark, sadly, and there were no other curtains, but the bed was reasonably comfortable. The cramped bathroom came with a minuscule shower cubicle, but water pressure from the handheld shower was excellent and hot water ample. The amenities consisted of wall-mounted containers of low-quality soap and bath foam, that’s it. Wifi was free, fast and reliable, although you will need to log in again a few times every day. The password is MERMAIDHOTEL (in capitals), for whatever reason it is not posted anywhere in the room. The hotel is basically located at the corner of Oxford Street and New Bond Street, an excellent location for shopping. Bond Street tube station is a short walk away. If all you need is a bed for the night, en suite, in a central location, then Mermaid Suite is for you, but don’t expect anything above the basic level.
