These apartments are a good size and the one we stayed in had a well equiped kitchen. The pool/BBQ area is new and well kept, and the communal areas are really smart and well tended. Access to Tedder Ave is good, the view is impeded now with a large block opposite, and there was some construction noise. Road is busy, and at the weekend everyone with a noisy vehicle parades up and down until about 3am. The issue we had was with the management, and on the basis of this I wouldn't stay again, and have rated according to how the whole experience made me feel. I contacted them a month out to discuss bed arrangements, as there was flexibility in how these were made up. The manager advised that we would not be able to do this with an ******* booking, though the ******* site clearly gives the option or 2 double and 2 single OR 1 double and 4 single. The manager was negative about ******* bookings and asked me to cancel and book direct. He sent a text asking for AU$650 extra to put us in what he advised was a superior apartment on a higher floor, and advised we were currently booked for level 2, though on the phone he said it was level 3. I advised we hadn’t the budget for this and wouldn’t be cancelling the ******* booking as this gave us cancellation protection, a strong incentive for our booking. The day before travel he contacted me to ask about bed arrangements as if he had never spoken to me before. He was happy at this time to accomodate the requested bed layout, and said he would be putting us in the better apartment on a higher floor that had been previously mentioned (though he didn’t relate to the previous conversation). He didn’t ask for additional money at this time for this supposed better apartment. He was aware that I was arriving alone. When I arrived he immediately shut reception and said he was going to show me what we had booked, and what we could have. He took me to a 2nd floor apartment which was truly awful, and then up to a 13th floor apartment which was significantly better. He then asked for extra money to put us on the 13th floor. I felt so under pressure, and had so been dreading arriving on my own, I was concerned at this point that he would simply refuse our booking or put us on the level 2 unit. He then said “surely it’s worth an additional $100?” I agreed to pay this just to put a stop to this harassment; he isn’t exactly the friendliest person, which felt more intimidating. After the stay, which was absolutely fine though I felt on edge everytime I saw the owner, I found I had not received any ******* points. ******* stated that my booking had been cancelled, even though I could demonstrate that I stayed at the property and had paid them according to the ******* booking arrangements. The manager had cancelled this booking, even though in our first conversation I had specifically told him that I wouldn’t be cancelling the ******* booking and did not want him to do so. To make matters worse, I have been
