Hotels near Gueliz in Marrakech

We checked in to our deluxe room, and it was a horrible stay. First off, the deluxe room building is the furthest building away from the hotel, and by the time we get to our room, the view from our balcony is of a construction site and parking lot. Our room had a particularly strong vinegar smell to it, and we asked to move rooms. We were told that every deluxe room was sold out and we would be able to move rooms the next day. Next day comes around and we didn’t hear from the hotel. Every call to guest services took at least 3-5 minutes until someone answered or called back. We also came back to our hotel room unlocked, and it seemed housekeeping didn’t truly close our door when they cleaned it. On our last night, the A/C didn’t seem to work. We called guest services and the lady I spoke to told me that it was turned off for the whole hotel. When asked why or when will it be turned back on, she abruptly interrupts me and says I’m transferring you to the front desk. I waited for at least 2 minutes on the phone before someone from the front desk to answer my call, and he informs me that someone will come check our A/C. We love staying at different hotels in different countries and had no issues with other hotels in Marrakech, however, our stay at Movenpick was very underwhelming and staff didn’t seem to care at all. This has been a very awful experience, and hope that the hotel management can make a much better experience and improvement for others.

Lovely would recommend. Cheap and cheerful. Don’t know why people are so negative about this place, I would stay here again. Clean, beds made everyday, clean towels, friendly staff. Located twenty minute walk from the square, and the souks. Off licence around the corner, which sells plenty of beer, wine and spirits. £11.00, for a bottle of wine and six beers. Highly recommended!!!

We had a great stay. Clean and nice room with comfy bed. Breakfast by the pool was great. Staffs were nice and friendly especially the door gentleman! Check-in was a bit of a pain as it took ages (lack of staff when i arrived)… we needed to rest badly but had to wait for like 20 mins. Lifts are very old and slow but luckily there wasn’t many guests so it wasn’t a burden. Ingeneral i think it was a good value hotel. We would come back!

I have been a regular customer at the Sofitel Marrakech for over 12 years the experience has always been top class - It’s my favourite hotel in Marrakech.

Advantages: 1. The hotel meals are amazing. Buffet is invincible, and it has beaten most five-star hotels in Morocco. This price is worth the dinner. 2. Very suitable for bringing children. The baby club has its own farm, with sheep, peacocks, turkeys, etc. Children love it. They have a full range of amusement equipment and a classroom, which can be hosted. It is a pity that the opening time is no later than 5:30 pm. 3. There are 3 outdoor swimming pools in the hotel. The pools can be launched in winter, and there is an artificial lake for boating. There are also tennis courts and children's golf courses. 4. Beautiful environment, suitable for vacation, palm park. 5. Can add an extra bed. Toothbrush with slippers Next talk about the flaws: 1. The room is too small ... average bedding. 2. The location is very remote, the suburbs, and you can consider own car.

The hotel is amazing the staff the food the services… everything is wonderful. Essadi hotel located in te city center where everything is closed: restaurants, drug stores, coffee shops and supermarkets. I recommend it strongly and hope you will enjoy it as we did 😌

With the hindsight of some of the reviews i have read on this hotel, my conclusion after just staying here for a few days is they are absolutely not giving the hotel the justice it derserves. Yes the hotel is old, might be some tiles missing here and there' or some wall plug not sitting 100 % in the wall. But generally its not a problem that can't be solved if you ask the staff they are both friendly and helpfull. With a large family in marrakech and the experience of travelling here every other year for the last 30 years this is nothing out of the ordinary on hotels of marrakech unless you are staying at something absolutely high end hotel which will probably cost you small fortune Garden is magnificent with a spacious pool area, friendly and helpfull staff that solves any problems you might have, good food with fair prices. Rooms are spacious well ventilated (Ive read a lot of people complaining about the A/C, to that i can just say morocco is one of the warmest places on earth specially during the summer time and thats not anything even the best A/C can solve) The only negative thing is the area around the hotel once was a ”highend” district with lots of luxury hotels sadly the last couple of years the area has been in decay leaving it quite ”dead” which means you have to find a taxi to get to anywhere interesting which is not a big cost (20Dh-40dh), but can be tricky if you are travelling more then 3 persons due to lack of big taxis and the fact that small taxi´s only take 3 people. We spent wonderful days in Caravanserai with the Rotary Club with 28 people. The rooms are generous and individual and carefully maintained. The accommodation is very quietly located. The right place to tank. The atmosphere is simply charming with the beautiful lighting. The dinner was served at the pool or tent in the desired garden. The food was very tasty and fine. The staff is very friendly, attentive and premature. Chapeau for Philippe. He is an organizational talent. We're happy to come back as a couple or with a group or for a special celebration. Thank you very much again for everything

This was the second day of my staying. First of all, I’m really grateful to Mr.Nifaoui and Mr. Adli. All of people are facing fear of corona including people who work there but they are really helpful and understanding. I’m so satisfied of this stay even I couldn’t go outside of the hotel. I can see how nice people here is and how amazing Marrakech is.

We have recently stayed at this hotel and had an amazing time! The rooms are very comfortable, the food is great (amazing choice for breakfast!), the indoor heated pool is amazing and relaxing, the outdoor pool is spacious and relaxing and the sun-beds are very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, walkable to a mall and many restaurants. A special mention to all the staff members who work here- they are so helpful and friendly! We especially want to mention the following staff: Fatima at reception was very welcoming, Mohammed for his amazing tea and friendliness, Assam and Ismail for being so helpful and friendly at concierge, Abdul Kareem for being great at the pool side bar, Madi for being a great recreational manager, Loutfi for being very helpful in the bar and Essafi for being a helpful security man! You all made our visit so special! We recommend this hotel for great service, food and facilities!
