The Westin Palace, Milan

Brera Milan|0.92km from Palazzo Lombardia
It is very true that a picture and an image tell their own powerful story! When my husband Guy and I arrived back at the Westin Hotel from Florence, Guy got down on the floor of the hotel reception on both knees to offer a prayer of thanks to Riccardo, the Head Concierge of the Magical Concierge Team. This is how grateful and delighted we were with the services of the Concierge team of Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia. Riccardo was unphased by us not having made Porter reservations for the Railway station. He said he would find a way to help for us with our large luggage. The combination of Riccardo’s skills and connections achieved a mini miracle; our taxi driver to Milan station had been briefed on how to secure porter assistance and the plan was executed with military precision. A young man appeared from nowhere to provide this assistance. This type of service can only be achieved by a Magical Concierge Team. Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia also scored perfection on our return journey from Florence to Milan. As the train arrived at Milan Central, Porter Andrea was holding up a sign with my name on it with the universal thumbs up signal. Watching this Porter lift two suitcases weighing around 20 kilos each from the overhead baggage rack as though they were a feather, was astonishing. Between them Porter Andrea and Mario, the driver of the chauffeur service ensured a seamless arrival back at the Westin. We recommend this Concierge team without any hesitation as the best.

Before arrival, I contacted our Globalist Concierge about securing an update for our 5 night trip with one of our upgrade awards. They responded almost immediately that we had been upgraded to a Premium Suite which was a nice way to start out. We arrived about 2.30PM via the Central Train station and it was a pretty quick 7 or so minute or so walk to the hotel. We found the path straight forward via Google maps and the area around the hotel seemed to be a mix of business and residential and we thought it was perfectly safe. The walk to the hotel was quick and easy enough but the train ride from Malpensa was longer than I thought and not that great really for being called an ”Express” train service. Arrival at the hotel we found only steps to get to the lobby which was mildly annoying as we only had limited luggage, more luggage would have been more annoying as it was several steps not a few. The lobby was a bit of a mess when we arrived but the check in desk agents got the rather complicated guests before us (why do some of you make check in so complicated?) sorted out quickly enough and it was our turn to check in. If there was a Globalist check-in area is was not practical to use as there was not much room to separate the masses at the desk. To be fair, I never saw the desk that busy again during our stay so we may have hit it at just the wrong time. At check-in we were advised of our upgrade to a Premium Suite, about Globalist breakfast option being in the restaurant and also about a free minibar. We also got two drink coupons, I believe that was due to Globalist status. Based on what I heard from the previous check-ins, it appeared the minibar was free for everyone but it was just a few sodas. Our room was not quite ready so they asked us to sit. They insisted on taking our bags while we sat in the lobby. We no more sat down and they came over and gave us our keys and said our bags would be taken to our room. We got to the room and the guy was just leaving from delivering the bags. The room was nice but I would not call it a suite, the terminology is a bit misleading. Imagine a normal European sized room (small) with a entry way on the other side of a half wall and a shower on the the other side. Ok, the shower was the steam room but it also had a shower so you could rinse off after the steam. Honestly, it was a waisted upgrade for us. We had not interest in the steam thingy and the way the room is laid out with the half wall, you are really crammed into a small bedroom area. I have plenty of the upgrade awards that I don't use so didn't bother me but I would likely just prefer a regular room in the future that was maybe slight bigger than the bed area of the suite. Functionally, the room was ok but one glaring missing item is USB ports next to the bed. I have come to expect that in any nice property these days and for a hotel that serves a lot of international guests, I think it is a must. People can mostly do without an international plu

We have to pass one night in Milan en route to the Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci and then pour Florence. We have chosen this nice hotel due to its vicinity to the main train station. Well I am handicapped and got frightened when I saw no path to my scooter. Big mistake : two kind men from the reception quickly put a ramp over the stairs which stayed during our,too short, sojourn. In addition they kept a part of our luggage until our coming back from Florence a week later If you look for nice, central and full of hospitality- Auriga (in Latin charioteer) will bring you there. We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff were friendly. The place was spotlessly clean. The apartment was really big and we loved our skyline view from our bedroom. The location was a bonus, it’s only 3 stations away from Duomo Cathedral on the metro

If you are even marginally interested in architectural history and international modernism, this hotel is a must. Beautifully restored and within a short walking distance of Milano Centrale, it was ideal for our 3-night stay. The floor to ceiling windows offer spectacular views, the room was warm and spacious and we appreciated the complementary drinks and the gift wrapped panettone cakes left in our room for New Year's. The breakfast was delicious, varied and plentiful and we loved the fact it was till 10:30am and till 11am on weekends. Special mention and THANKS to the reception and laundry staff who did everything to fix the button on my husband's suit in no time when we were running late for La Scala. We would definitely return!

The hotel was very welcoming and had such great amenities! We highly recommend the breakfast and ask for Francesco! By the second day he remembered our coffee and juice order. He was so kind and offered such great service, as did the bartender and staff. It is a really lovely hotel and experience in a great location.

Service is unparalleled, the room is a little bit dated though there was some wear and tear on the furniture. It’s more of a 4 star hotel than a 5 star due to the age and wear and tear of the furnishings. I’ve been at better 4 star hotels at less than half the price so it’s a bit disappointing in that regard. Service is excellent, the staff go above and beyond for their guests. They were able to get my menstrual pads, toothpastes and wine glasses. The lovely staff at concierge even gave us bar snacks for our byo wine and when I first checked in, a map with recommendations of what to see. Shame the room doesn’t match the service.

The reason we choose this hotel was the approximity to train station Milano Centrale. It was abt 5 mins walk from the station. Check in was a breeze. We booked the classic double junior suite. Room was very spacious. Bathroom came with standing showers. Breakfast was good with a lot of varieties to choose.
