It’s very good, but enough issues to knock a star off. Lots of good things - very clean, modern room. Great shower. Good lighting. Comfortable bed. Fabulous breakfast, with omelettes to order. Every sort of milk you could imagine (though except, oddly, we couldn’t find fresh - the one we thought was it was UHT!). Great gym on 14 floor. Internet lightning fast. The staff were friendly and gave you full attention when you were with them. Issues. Short staffed. On checkout, for example, only two staff, one of whom was on the phone … then the other could not get round an issue for a couple checking online, so had to be helped by the first. When a place is this swish, check in and out should be fast and slick. It wasn’t. Short staffed in the restaurant too: we’d booked a table but were ignored by the two staff who were covering the bar and the tables. A lot of tables and a long wait to be seated. Better training needed: at least greet and acknowledge the waiting guests. Restaurant food was ok. In the room: no access to the online hotel directory: reception didn’t really understand the problem and sent a spare remote up to us, then guessed maybe a software issue. No USB ports in the sockets, and none to loan (you could buy them apparently). (Tip: actually there there are two USB ports - on the back of the TV! They’re fiddly to reach but it can be done, and they charged a phone overnight).

We are here now. Reserved 2 rooms to accommodate 4 people, one for 3 adults, the other for 1 adult. They brought us a roll away bed for the 3rd adult and when I asked the front desk, they said they had no rooms to accommodate 3 adults with 3 proper beds. (Then why offer it as an option?). We were offered to move to a larger room, for the larger price, but would still only get the roll away bed for the 3rd adult. Accommodations…..incredibly dissatisfied. Especially for a 5 star hotel. We were ignored, not exaggerating, when we pulled up with our vehicle. While trying to parallel park to unload, 2 employees stood joking around. A colleague stopped what he was doing, interrupted them, and all but got in their face to tell them to help us! At this point I was pissed! And mind you, i was outside of the car and they had no idea i was with the car……so i was witness to it all. They were kissing the feet of the others (who were not wearing sweat pants) and legitimately IGNORED us. I was PISSED. Not because I’m stuck on myself, but because it’s so true. If you don’t LOOK a certain way, especially at this 5 star hotel, YOU WILL BE IGNORED. Don’t hate on me for my honest review. Just know that if TRUE luxury is what you’re seeking, no matter what you look like or what you drive, you may have better luck down the road. It’s not here. Best of luck and let’s hope I’m one of the few who has had to experience this.

Schade, dass das Hotel derart schlecht beschildert ist. Als Ortsunkundiger muss man schon ganz konzentriert unterwegs sein, damit man den Hoteleingang findet, denn eigentlich sieht es immer noch wie die Bank aus, die das Hotel einmal war. Innen überzeugt eine luxuriöse Innenarchitektur, die seinesgleichen sucht; die Räumlichkeiten sind hochwertig und modern, ohne opulent oder kalt zu wirken. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, aber leider hatten wir wahrscheinlich das Wochenende der Negativauslese erwischt: In der Bar wird man gesetzt; das Personal merkt aber nicht, dass man die Leute etwas verteilen könnte, anstatt alle Tische nebeneinander zu besetzen. So kommt keine Privatsphäre zustande. Die Barspeisen sind sehr vielfältig und von höchster Güte; wer aber satt werden möchte, geht besser ins Restaurant; die Portionen sind mickrig. Der Frühstücksservice war zu Beginn sehr aufmerksam, das Konzept des Buffetts ist allerdings zu überdenken: entweder ist alles bedient und entsprechend der Service am Tisch, oder es hat eben ein Buffett, das in seiner ganzen Vielfalt zur Verfügung steht. Die Mischform, zu der man mangels Alternative greifen muss, macht es nicht einfach. Eine ganz tolle Brotauswahl wird durch das minimalistische Kaltspeisen Buffett zunichte gemacht: 3 Scheiben Kochs*****en und 6 daumengrosse Salametti resp einen Anschnitt Blauschimmelkäse, einen ebenso kleinen Weissschimmelkäse und eine völlig vertrocknete Scheibe Halbhartkäse war die komplette Auswahl. Daraufhin haben wir uns entschieden, das Käsesortiment à la carte zu bestellen. Auf diese Bestellung haben wir dann gut 20 Minuten gewartet. Das check-out war ebenfalls äusserst freundlich und zuvorkommend; auf unseren Wagen (”Ein Mitarbeiter ist bereits unterwegs, um Ihren Wagen zu holen”) haben wir dann allerdings auch warten müssen, so dass sich unsere Reise kumuliert um eine halbe Stunde verzögert hat. Schade, in so einem prunkvollen Haus hätten wir einfach mehr erwartet. Im Wissen, dass die Eröffnung erst Ende Oktober war, sind wir überzeugt, dass, wenn sich alle Prozesse eingeschliffen haben werden, 5* in der Bewertung locker erreicht werden können. PS: als Gast empfiehlt es sich, ein Zimmer nicht strassenseitig zu buchen; die Fenster sind miserabel schallisoliert.

While the hotel stay was comfortable and the rooms a nice and clean we found the front desk staff rude and unhelpful. From the start they have shown no courtesy, I called up the hotel from the station to inquire about the location and landmark and found the person speaking to me couldnt care less about giving directions. Then when we arrived there, there was no one at the front desk. Since there are two Holiday Inns adjacent to each other we were confused as to which one is ours and kept the cab waiting to check. Finally we had to let the cab go as not one was there to answer our query. After a long wait the lady manning the front desk finally emerged from the cabin and was very rude with us. She couldnt find our reservation, we had to panic call the booking.com customer service and incurred a huge mobile bill for the international call only so that we could confirm our booking. She insisted we had not paid for our rooms and we had to argue and show proof of payment. Any query we had about the hotel amenities or sightseeing were unhelpfully answered. The person who looks after the snacks corner was the only congenial and courteous person. The hotel is within walking distance of a train station and the bus stop is right outside the drive way, There are some good restaurants about 5- 7 minutes walk from the hotel. Lidl is a stones throw away so are a few other grocery stores. Once you get the hang of the place its pretty convenient. The only reason why the rating is average is because the hotel is good and the rooms were comfortable and neat. Otherwise only based on their customer service it would be poor.

When we turned up at the hotel at no fault of the hotel the holiday company we used did not change the dates of our hotel (from 26-29th to 27-30th) in line with our flights. This was quickly sorted by signing a form to confirm that this was the case. Then on our last night I was in the room by myself when a man that had just checked in had let himself into the room, he soon realised and walked straight back out. Shortly after I had a receptionist named Mustafa I have been told barge into the room demanding that I pack and leave right away as I should not be there. He threatened to ring the police if I did not leave right away. He did not want to listen to a word I said when I tried to explain to him the situation that I thought could have been the mix up, I rang my boyfriend to come straight up to the room. The tone and manner of this staff member was completely unacceptable. As soon as my boyfriend arrived his manner changed completely and became very polite. My partner went down to reception to try and sort things out to which he got shown the form we filled in on arrival with it forged, the date had been crossed out and edited which I’m assuming is to try and cover up the fact they were in the wrong. Never experienced anything like this anywhere I have travelled before. Definitely did not feel safe by myself as a woman. So disappointed after such a lovely holiday this completely changed the tone and ruined it 😢

I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel from 10 October to 15 October . During my stay, I encountered a number of unsatisfactory service levels. First, I could not proceed check in at 3PM and took almost an hour to complete even thought I had a confirmed reservation with my reservation printout. When I asked the reception staff on duty about the reason of the delay, they said it was because the reservation system was down but they could actually find my reservation from the tray on the front desk! Second, when I entered the room, I realized there are dusts inside and dirt on the outside of water kettle; also, mold is found at the ventilation in the toilet. I asked for a clean kettle before noon on the 14 Oct before I left the hotel for lunch; and when I returned my room at 5PM, the same dirty kettle was still in my room. I have brought the dirty kettle down to reception and ask again for a clean one. Staff on duty refused to change for me until I insisted a clean one is a must. I don't think their staff treated my request seriously. Third, as we all know the deposit of empty plastic water bottle can be refunded from supermarket in Germany. I have placed 3 empty bottles on the desk, not in the bin from the 1st day of my stay. When I returned to my room on the 3rd day, all empty bottles were gone while the trash in the bin were still there. Lastly, according to their laundry service request form, regular laundry (NOT DRY CLEANING) service is available from Mon to Sun 8.30AM-7.00PM. I have placed my order with the form completed as ”Laundry Service” before 8.30am on 15 Oct. Nothing has returned until 7PM. I was told by the staff on duty the information about service time on the form is incorrect for more than a year. She did not offer any help. She just kept asking me why the staff did not tell me no laundry service on Saturday in the morning. Her attitude was so bad and kind of blame on me. There was no customer service at all. I am sure this is my worst hotel stay experience so far. I am extremely disappointed from this bitter experience.

The hotel is beautiful. It is set right beside the English garden. Simply gorgeous. It is a little bit far from the main attractions of town. For example, Marion plots, and the glockenspiel. However, that simple taxi ride will get you there. The lobby is grand, and the staff is quite attentive. However, this is where we need to talk about the missing details. Some of the night staff did not speak almost any English. This made communicating quite difficult. I had this crazy experience of trying to get some ice cream for room service at around 1030 at night. Depending on who we spoke to, you could or could not get anything at that time. This is where two employees actually try to help me and go above. Anisa and Said. We finally got the ice cream. The chocolate ice cream was absolutely delicious. More details… All the hotels are strongly, encouraging guests to save water by reusing towels. I completely agree with this initiative. But if that’s the case, why couldn’t they give us a few more simple hooks in the bathroom? Another detail for hotel: shower temperature control is a mess after flushing toilet! Ouch. Breakfast area is very good. Good selection of food. Staff great. Very attentive. I would suggest longer shields in front of the food since everyone is sneezing everywhere. Another annoying detail - give water out for free! If we’re paying so much for the hotel, then the water should be free. As it is right now, you are charging almost 4 euros for one small bottle of water. That’s a rip off. I’m sure most of the clientele can afford the water bottle, but this really is a rip off. The going rate is actually about one or maybe two Euros . Don’t disrespect us with such ridiculous charges. Anyway, highly recommend this place. Would stay here again.

Na een drukke dag aangekomen bij het hotel. Mijn werk had dit hotel geregeld en had een link via de mail. De boekings code kende het systeem niet. Toen op mijn naam gezocht en daar kreeg ik een kaart. Waar ik mee naar binnen kon. Maar niet in de kamer. Een medewerker vertelde mij dat ik via de telefoon de deur zou kunnen activeren. Terwijl ik in de telefoon gedoken zat kreeg de medewerker de deur open. En had ik ondertussen zitten klikken in de internet pagina van het hotel. Waar na ik de niet werkende passen weer inleverde. Heerlijk geslapen. Nette kamer en de volgende morgen aan het ontbijt. Prima ontbijt trouwens. Daar vertelde de zelfde medewerker dat ik twee kamers had. Ik wist niet zeker of mijn bedrijf de kamer betaald had. En heb vervolgens dus bij aankomst het bedrag betaald om vervolgens te declareren. Nu heb wij dus voor twee kamers betaald. Het inloggen en het verkrijgen van je kaart voor de kamer is verwarrend. Nu moet ik er nog wel even bij zeggen dat ik adhd heb. En dat mijn medicatie rond het tijdstip van aankomst al begint uit te werken. En dat betekend dat het uitvoeren van simpele taken een grote hoeveelheid energie kost en verwarring snel optreed. Nu zul u zeggen neem dan nog wat medicatie. Maar dan slaap ik niet meer. Ik hoorde reizigers in de lobby ook om hulp vragen met het inloggen. Na mijn bezoek op de terug reis kreeg ik een aantal mails met ”open u deur”. En kortings codes enz. Maar ik denk dat het punt moet zijn. Als iemand zonder adhd al moeite heeft met deze procedure. Hoe moet iemand met adhd deze marteling door staan en rustig kunnen gaan slapen. Want dat is als je voor een dichte hotel kamer staat een verschrikkelijkgevoel. En een werk dag van 13 uur achter de rug hebt dat gene waar je echt aan aan toe bent. De dag afsluiten en een fijne hotel kamer te hebben. Zodat je tot rust kunt komen en je op kunt laden voor nog een lange werk dag en terug reis. Alles was goed aan het hotel. Maar zorg voor een beter inlog systeem. Een QR code die uitgelezen wordt bij de ingang. een simpele maar duidelijke mail met adhd vriendelijke lay out. We zijn niet dom maar hebben soms wel een beetje hulp nodig bij een wereld vol prikkels. Zoals pop ups, korting codes en... hé das een mooie poster.... wat was ik ook weer aan het doen... o ja, Ik hoop op een adhd vriendelijke wereld. Maar dat begint bij vriendelijke mailtjes en een beetje begrip voor iets dat iemand zonder adhd niet zal begrijpen. Bedankt voor het lezen. Breakfast is included, and the breakfast is rich and good. There is a small cooking table on the side of the entrance. Although the sparrow is small and complete, it has pots, pans and dishwashers. The parking lot is the one with the big hertz written on it. The hotel sign is relatively small and I didn't see it. It was only found on the day of picking up the car. We parked by mistake and parked in the parking lot of the next motel 1, but when motel 1 paid the parking fee, the enthusiastic brother at the front desk said it was okay. He paid the parking fee and gave the ticket. The parking fee is much cheaper than the designated parking lot of the hotel. Piece

The room was small but spotless clean. Bathroom and shower good. The staff is helpful. The hotel is within a walking distance from the train station (15 minutes +/-) . Despite the room window overlooking a main road and the railway the windows are soundproof so the room was silent. The breakfast is relatively modest, but has the necessary. The hotel is perhaps ideal for mature holidays or business trips. Overall I would recommend.
