The Lodhi – A Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

Overall a very poor experience and nothing like a 5 star hotel should be, unless you don’t have experience with 5 star hotels. The room we booked (signature terrace) was in a section of the hotel where renovation was clearly happening. It was 19:00 when we checked in and could hear loud hammering and the room reeked of paint and construction chemicals. We asked to be moved and they just put us in a room directly below where we had the same hammering and smell. We asked to just be in a different section of this very large hotel, but they just moved us once again one room directly below. We finally gave up from being so exhausted and having dinner reservations. We took a shower, and the shower drain was clogged and water leaked out onto the floor. When we came back, the bathroom smelled like raw sewage. We finally had enough and insisted we be moved to a different section of the hotel and they finally did, but to a much smaller room than we booked with no tub. We stayed there because it was quiet and didn’t smell like paint and sewage. The front desk reception is completely clueless about hospitality. It was completely inappropriate they checked us into a room in that condition, refused to come up with a solution, and then moved us to a downgraded room, because we didn’t want to hear construction late at night and have sewage come through the shower. They were rude about the situation and did not care at all. This is what I would expect at a $10 a night hostel, not a hotel that claims to be a 5 star luxury experience. On top of that, the day we checked out we didn’t have a flight until the evening, and they said they could hold our bags for the day in storage. After leaving for 5+ hours, we see our bags outside by the entrance. They had been left there all day outside, and I was told it was just a “miscommunication” between staff. I don’t know how no one would notice this, but that’s little the staff cares and how untrained they are. Overall, it was a very stressful stay. I had also stayed at the nearby Oberoi at the start of my trip and had a much better experience. Don’t bother with the Lodhi.

Very good hotel, wonderful stay. Rooms are very spacious, checkin and checkout were very quick and smooth. Ajay and Mangur were very good and helped us alot in all manner. Food and stay was very comfortable. We will be coming back soon.......

The hotel is beautiful, staff and service was excellent. The rooms were pristine. saraubh in the restaurant daily was a pleasure, he was very helpful and attentive always. I would not hesitate to stay at the Lodhi Hotel on my next visit to New Delhi.

We enjoyed our brief one night stay at the Lodhi. The hotel is very well located. I had not seen Humayun' s Tomb before and it was just a five minute drive from the hotel. The room was spacious and well sound proofed. The toilet was very modern with Japanese style hi tech comode. Bed comfortable. Good shower pressure. Loved the poster of my favourite actor Steve McQueen in a bathtub over the bathtub and an authentic painting of Forked Flycatcher by James Audubon in the toilet. I wish there was a bit more space for our three bags. Also appreciated a gift from Santa ! There was no iron in the room but they provided one quickly for me. We were very tired so we ordered in-room dining. Extensive menu. Plenty of choices for us vegetarians. I loved the cassada dessert. Food arrived promptly. We had a quick breakfast. Good spread. But the vada and uttapam were cold and not replenished promptly. Nice coffee. The staff were uniformly polite and warm. Sneha was efficient and checked us in promptly. Check out was also quick and efficiently managed by Gargi and Priyank. We regret that we didn't have enough time to explore the hotel as it was nicely decked up for Christmas. I had a bite of the Gingerbread house. Also loved the Christmas tree made out of Poinsettia. Overall highly recommended.

Great experience pleasant staff. The hotel is great for anyone who is looking for absolute comfort. Great service All over a pleasure Spa service was great. Breakfast was great. Saurav served us and made sure my dadaji had everything- so patient so friendly. Staff was great and very approachable and guiding us where we need to go. when it came to money exchange they found us the best rates from a guy they knew instead of banks or airports that would up charge and let us make the decision of how we wanted to proceed after giving us all details. rooms very spacious and clean with amenities
