..unfortunately the quality here have declined since our last visit. Last time I was over the moon with the food and service, this time the «little extra» that made our vacation so wonderful was lacking. Let’s start with the food: Breakfast is still awesome. If you can’t find anything to your liking here, the problem is definitely a you-problem. Lunch; great variety. More cakes and sweets available, still no use of juice- or coffee machines, but is available in the bar. Dinner: Now here there’s trouble. Dinner didn’t quite live up to breakfast or lunch last time either, but this was truly disappointing. Dinner has become «themed». I didn’t catch on to it until after a couple of days, and saw it was «italian» or «mexican» or «barbeque» or «asian». For real. Relaxia Lanzaplaya obviously have some real magicians in their kitchen. Someone in there is a true artist when it comes to spices and flavours; I for one can’t stand the taste of pork. There’s always that little aftertaste in it, and except for bacon and cured ham, I steer clear of it. But here? Pork was _delicious_. But the theme-thing makes the food really boring. I really missed the opportunity to have more local food. Canarian, or just even spanish. All I could find that stood out was canarian potatoes and tortilla. Some sauces for lunch or dinner. Last year there seemed to be at least one or two local dishes for dinner, like rabbit or fish. The food was also poorly labeled, often not knowing what was what. Labels facing the wrong direction is one thing, missing completely another. Serving up sushi with tuna so dry it started curling on the edges when the buffet opened really isn’t a compliment to neither the chefs or the guests. Serving limp hotdogs and «hamburgers» consisting of so much fillers you have no idea if there even is meat in it? Not a good choice. Child friendly, perhaps, but not a good choice. Which brings me to the parts that was just disappointing: -tables not cleaned and cleared fast enough for new guests. Not even when half busy. When really busy I get it, time doesn’t always allow everything to be covered. -place mats disgustingly sticky. They need proper cleaning once in a while, not just a quick wipe with a wet rag. -cutlery often unavailable and not refilled. -water often empty and not refilled -queue at bar often far too long, too often nobody there to hand out soft drinks, wine or beer or whatever one wants to drink. -food not kept hot/warm enough. Not refilled when empty if you’re «late» (after 7pm). -ice cream bar seemed to have had icecream melted and refrozen. And on we go.. The pool is lit up at night. Due to particles snd contaminants in the water, you can’t see the bottom of it. Greyish foam forms at the edges in the evening, and it looks like a recipe for a ruined holiday if you should be unlucky and swallow a bit of the water while in it. The ocean is a better choice, and probably also warmer. Sunbeds; guests reserving beds a
