We had Travelled all over Bali and Gili Islands, having great luck with beautiful hotels and bungalows, decided to spontaneous visit Lombok and Kuta Beach. I just booked a simple bungalow that i thought was clean and safe with a good location close to the beach. (I don’t mind it being simple as long as clean and safe and I want to have the variety in living as well). When we arrived the entrance looked trashy and not neat with an old faded sign Dream Hotel. The bungalow we got: you could not close the door to the bungalow, there was no mosquito net around the bed which is important in malaria countries, there where small wholes in the ceiling, there was no shower gel, nor toilet paper (!!!) and even mold in the bath room! When I mentioned this that is below standard, they did not do anything about it, only said “yes we know” “you have high living standards”. “Yes we know” and don’t do anything about it!!! The lack of service and effort to try to fix this was mind blowing. The owner of Chinese origin was sitting down lazy in the entrance not doing anything but watching TV or the computer. We even had to pay a small fee for us checking out directly. We booked instead a beautiful Novotel Lombok, can recommend that but it is more luxury style. I feel sorry for this “nightmare hotel” with an organization with zero ambitions. From this experience they should not run hotel at all. The dream part is a dream...
