Room 2 - Glan Neigr - I was not holding out much hope after seeing the last few reviews and knowing that it was above a pub/restaurant, however we had a lovely stay and 100% would stay again. Room was bright, airy and clean, beds comfortable, location 10/10 with the beach and shops being within a 2 minute walk. Towels, tea, coffee, hairdryer all in the room. TV had lots of channels. Wifi was ok. Room easy to access with code provided. In the car park they had a giant washing machine/tumble drier, handy for washing our bathers and towels in after going swimming. We stayed mid week and did not hear any noise at all from the pub (I appreciate this may be different on a weekend), we ate at the restaurant and it was so handy having it just downstairs. Husband stayed in the pub for a pint and the staff and locals were very welcoming.

The room was excellent value, and just like the photographs... but. We didn't know how to access the room and check in. We asked at the bar downstairs and rooms are nothing to do with them, just us the codes on your phone! Access is by code on panels on the door that you have to use by blocking light off with your hand. I had to queue at the bar twice to find this out. I had a look round the room and it was big and comfy but every corner was grubby, the bathroom light wasn't working and the TV had no reception. We listened to radio through my Bluetooth speaker and used a battery camping lamp in the bathroom all weekend because phone lines to Anglesey holiday lettings weren't open till Monday. The bar downstairs is where the local hard working trades lads go. If you go into the 'posh' side , it's an Indian restaurant and your dog isn't allowed there, although the place is advertised as dog friendly. I read some excellent reviews about the food in the restaurant, but, when we went down there to eat after wearing the dog out and getting a bit tipsy, and starving ourselves all day. It was aggressively below average! The service was dull and robotic, the bhajis were a challenge to teeth of any age and me and my partner had two different curries with different meats that tasted like stew with a bit of extra pepper in! The bar downstairs is the local lads pub... I loved that, enjoyed having a drink with them. The kitchen downstairs is trying to take over the bar and makes everywhere smell of curry. The rooms are cheap digs, the socket at my side of the bed was loose and dangerous, but I could cope with that. Just wanted the bathroom light and tv to work! We had a drive over to Bangor for a shopping day for my partner in midweek and I bought a portable TV aerial for £1.50 and got it working before they did! Then they came apologising into the room the next day with a team of two and apologies about someone in one of the other rooms turning a signal booster off! All I can say is.... the bed was very comfy and the roof didn't leak 😀

Room 5 was awful. The kitchen staff clearly have no respect for guests staying. Lots of shouting, spitting outside of the window. The music was on till very late. We didnt sleep for 2 nights. The bed is also very small and is not suited for 2 people. Was advised there was ample parking but both days we struggled to get parked. Such a shame as the room was clean and in a nice area.

We've stayed at the Glen Neigr in rooms 4 and 3 before. No issues. Since the owners have changed and the restaurant has changed the experience in ROOM 5 WAS HELL. Once the kitchen closes at midnight i imagine the kitchen clean up takes place ROOM 5 is directly above the kitchen and window is above the back door to the kitchen. The music was blasting out from 12am - 3am as they cleaned up from the nights service. The shouting and door slamming from outside to inside. The staff discussing their £200/week wages and swearing was not ok. The volume of noise on all night was HORRIFIC. How do the locals feel about this?!! The base on the stereo was like a disco. Also the smoking smell wasnt appreciated. It drifts up to the room. Also the food smells carry throughout the rooms. The garlic smell was on clothes we hadnt even worn. Nightmare. We were there with our 3yr old and he didnt sleep till the staff came up to their room at 3am slamming and banging around in their room next door to ROOM 5. The bathroom was clean and modern, great. The bedroom was clean, great. Servicing the room when needed - not so great. We werent given fresh glasses to drink from and the bed wasnt properly made when required. Not great at all. Such a disappointing place to stay now. WAs always great for a few days but now not so much. Pillows need updating as they were in 2 bits inside. Really need a mini fridge in the summer to keep cold drinks in the room. Temperatre was 26-30 when we were there. New digital door locks were clever but YOU HAVE TO PULL THE DOOR CLOSED. The locks are so stiff that you could walk away without it being closed. WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN, NEEDS SOME TLC AND AN UPGRADE - ESPECIALLY NOW OWNED BY SANDY MOUNT. THE QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN HILL. Choose Room 3 or 4 if you can. Dont stay there if you want to sleep well or in quiet surroundings.

No warning, they have cancelled my booking made over 10mths ago. The room no longer exists. I'm now left with no where to stay locally and face a 190mile drive on the morning of the wedding over a Bank Holiday weekend. Their comment was UNFORTUNATELY. Don't trust if you reserve a room, you'll have one on the night !! TRUE RATING SHOULD BE MINUS 5 !!

It was £126 for one night, which in Rhosneigr is I guess 'to be expected', but in comparison to a basic premier inn (which is cheaper by the way) it's well over priced. Has a hostel feel about it. You're sent access details and simply go to your room and punch a key pad to get in - there's no reception or welcome. Room is very basic with one sachet of shower gel and 2 sachets of Nescafe - but then you're done. The noise from the kitchen went on until after midnight whilst they did their cleaning and seemed to start again very early in the morning - so not the best stay. Glad it was only one night. If the price was reflected of the kind of place you wouldn't mind so much - you'd get what you pay for. Should be priced at £50-75/night in my opinion.

The size of the room was great however it was too noisy for a family but to noise coming from the pub and all we could smell was chip fat and curry then entire stay. I would want more at £100 for a room. To make things worse, we were told the breakfast for the room was at Sandymount hotel up the road which was a short walk, however when we arrived the lady working refused to give us breakfast without a voucher which we were not given. The staff at Sandymount were above their station and I’ve never been treated so poorly. Our two children were left with no breakfast.

Ever since the pub has changed hands the loud noises coming from the bar and outside our window have been horrendous after the bar closes. Usually from about 11 pm to midnight and beyond, the new owners of the bar downstairs were talking and shouting very loud every day of our stay. A day before we were leaving they were still going strong at 1.20am, it was so bad we checked out a day early and booked into a premier inn in Bangor at a financial loss to us. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone although in the past we have had some good stays and I have written good reviews previously. We are used to the bar noise downstairs and it’s never bothered us. Only positive was we had to go to the sister hotel the Sandy Mount, for breakfast which was amazing
