Friendly staff. Good location. Clean towels and linen. Old and not properly working facilities. Did not have hot water. The drain from the shower was clogged.

The hotel its in a strategic location, near to the bus and railway station and near to Ortigia, remarkable is the cappuccino on breakfast!

Most of all, I liked the hotel. Excellent location - on the one hand, close to the island of Ortigia, on the other, very close to the bus station. Friendly staff at the reception, they speak English, helped with an adapter for the socket (in the room the connector is on the sample side). Great breakfast. The only thing that marred the impression was the dampness in the room. Clothes and towels always remained damp. We had a room without a balcony - in this case it would have been very helpful.

Good for one night stay. Fridge not working, no power sockets near the bedside tables.

When the door of the room was opened, the artistic atmosphere full of beauty hit us. While appreciating the beauty, I thought of the old man who received us. He had the unique temperament of an old artist who seemed to have been seen before, with elegant manners, generous movements, and a polite attitude. The fatigue of the journey was melted by the beauty and I felt happy. The oil paintings on the wall and the decorations on the table, every bit revealed the love of life and appreciation of beauty. It was a warm room with complete and practical furniture. There were not many breakfast items, but there were precious small pears and peaches and fragrant coffee. The dining table was small and exquisite, with a white tablecloth. There was a blooming flower on each table. There was a shelf high above the wall. When eating, the flower pot was moved up to create another scene. The outside of the hotel was also clean and tidy. There were bakeries with fragrant aromas around, a large supermarket, and seafood that scared my husband away when I asked about the price. It was too expensive, 16 euros for 0.1kg of seafood. But it was really fresh. The train station was very close to us, so we didn't need to take a taxi (randomly asking for prices), which saved money and exercised our bodies. The people here are very friendly. The young handsome guy took the initiative to send us to the hotel. The public drivers gathered together to discuss and help us how to go to Malta... The friendly people and the tasteful old waiters are all unforgettable.

Nightmarish hotel, I have never seen a hotel in these conditions, at least in Italy, As soon as we arrived in the room we immediately smelled mold, we also immediately noticed that the double bedspread was dirty with several stains (obviously all this will be written and confirmed by the attached photos) but the most serious thing was the internal lining of the pillow with blood stains (probably blood) peeling walls with obvious mold stains, the bathroom with rusty and malfunctioning accessories, the icing on the cake, the next morning when going to breakfast we realize that the yoghurts in the breakfast room have expired for at least 3 days. In short, a hotel to be absolutely avoided and indeed to be reported to the Carabinieri Anti-Advertising Unit

Cheap and affordable, right next to the bus station. Also close to the old town

Terrifying. The ground floor is covered in mould. Also on the first floor air conditioners with mold. Not very clean, wardrobe doors had two inches of dust (and mould). Old, unmaintained structure. Mediocre breakfast. Shameful it has 4 stars, truly a scam. It is an old, poorly maintained 1 or 2 star hotel. The only acceptable note is the location.

Good location, breakfast not the worst but not crazy, the gentleman at the reception speaks English, the bed is comfortable. The downsides are moisture and supposedly there is order but not completely - but I noticed that this is the norm in Sicily. For the price I recommend.

Excellent location a stone's throw from the train and bus station...10 minutes on foot and you are in Ortigia, the heart of Syracuse, parking attached to the structure

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel dei Coloniali during a holiday in Ortigia and was extremely impressed with the experience I had. Review of Hotel XYZ: Excellent receptionist service and ideal location! I recently stayed at the Hotel dei Coloniali during my visit to Ortigia and was extremely satisfied with the experience. I would like to commend the receptionist for his exceptional service and for literally saving our vacation when we had a problem with a wheel. He kindly replaced the wheel with the spare one, quickly solving our problem. The hotel is in a great location, just a ten minute walk from Ortigia, and offers free parking opposite. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for welcoming accommodation in Ortigia. The receptionist deserves special praise for his excellent service and for helping us in a difficult moment. Thank you!!!
