2-Star Hotels in Gyeongju

An amazing once-in-a-lifetime hanok experience!! The place was absolutely beautiful, and our host was the kindest person ever. Their service was amazing, even providing us with a bottle of wine, and free breakfast even though it originally didn’t come with our booking. We visited Gyeongju for 3 nights during the windy winter of February, so some of the pros & cons may not be applicable for other seasons: Pros: - Amazing location: right in the heart of Gyeongju’s trendy hanok district, it is a few minutes walk from Hwangnidan-Gil street, Cheonmachong etc. Despite this district being absolutely PACKED in the weekend, our hanok was tucked in a more cozy, quiet corner, above a restaurant. It was then really quiet in our hanok, and we surprisingly didn’t have any problem of smells from the restaurant downstairs coming up into our rooms. - Clean aesthetic that perfectly balances the vibes of a traditional hanok, and a modern hotel. Suitable for those travelling with older families, for example, who may not be able to sleep comfortably on hard floors. The interior designer for this hanok deserves a raise - Floor heating was done well, and we didn’t feel cold at all despite the winds at night during our winter stay - gigantic TV - host was very kind and easy to communicate with via WhatsApp! - appreciated that the toilet and shower were very clean and modern as well! Cons: - there weren’t any wardrobes, and not many hangers were provided to hang your clothes. It’s only a minor issue, since we had more coats for our winter wear. However, since most people are booking this hanok for short stays, it shouldnt be a big issue either - as we came here via car at night, the parking lot assigned to us was a ~2min walk away from the actual hanok, so it was a bit confusing to locate the parking lot and hanok in the dark at first. - at night, the winds in the winter get quite strong, and so like any wooden house - there will naturally be quite a bit of sound like the wooden door shaking, sound of wind etc. Coming from the city, we were a bit scared and thought there were intruders at first LOL. This isn’t a big problem (especially during less windy seasons), but I think it’s just worth keeping in mind, especially if you are very sensitive to sounds when sleeping. If these cons aren’t applicable or big issues for you, then yes I would more than recommend this hanok stay!!! It’s a rare experience, and hence worth the money imho!

Stayed at room 208 which was super spacious and clean. Toilet was huge and came with a decent bath tub. Bed was comfy and the staff changed our towels every day! Location is pretty near the gyeongju intercity bus terminal too (6min walk). However, the toilet light was on a timer and will automatically switch off after about 30mins even if theres someone in there. It is quite inconvenient to have to walk back outside to manually turn on the lights while you are dripping wet. Also, pls note that the aircon control is at the bottom of the TV remote control.

The hotel is really well located, a short distance from the Geungwanchong tomb and the tumuli park. It is also very close to the bus terminal. The room is basic, yet with all the Korean features: 2 types of slippers, big screen TV, fridge with bottles of water, air con. Complimentary tea or coffee is available in the kitchen. The only issues in my room were that it was very hard to sit at the desk because there was not enough space between the desk and the bed and I could not pull the chair far enough from the desk to sit comfortably. The other annoying thing was that anytime someone took a shower on an upper floor the water being drained down would make a lot of noise.

We had the most incredible experience staying at this beautiful hanok in Gyeongju!! It exceeded every expectation and then some. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and truly special. First of all, the location is unbeatable! It’s perfectly situated right by the market street, making it so easy to explore local food and culture, while also being within walking distance (or a short ride) to all the main attractions. Even better, it’s incredibly convenient for transport, just a short distance from both the express bus terminal (from Seoul) and the intercity bus terminal (onward to Busan), which made our travel stress-free. The hanok itself was simply stunning! Our room was surprisingly spacious, with gorgeous traditional design details and beautiful views from the windows that really made the stay feel serene and authentic. It struck the perfect balance between traditional charm and comfort. Speaking of comfort, the bed was fantastic, which was especially important to us since I’m 6 months pregnant. We were a bit nervous about sleeping arrangements beforehand, but it turned out to be incredibly comfortable, and we slept so well every night. The host was also incredibly thoughtful and gave extra yo (bedding) and an additional pillow, which was so sweet. What truly made this stay unforgettable, though, was the host’s kindness!! She was so warm and attentive throughout our visit. She kindly allowed us to check in early, which we really appreciated after travel, and each morning she brought us a delicious homemade breakfast, such a lovely and personal touch that made us feel completely taken care of. Everything about this stay felt genuine, peaceful, and full of heart. We left feeling rested, happy, and so grateful we chose this place. We genuinely couldn’t recommend it more highly. If you’re visiting Gyeongju, this is the place to stay!

Large spacious room, with comfortable bed, good Internet. Location was perfect to access attractions, bus stops, Restaurants and shops. Front counter staff were very friendly and helpful, giving baggage storage prior to check in. Cleaning staff did a great job and always smiling. Very clean refreshing hotel

The hotel was overall okay for a short stay. The room was reasonably clean and had the basic amenities needed. The staff was polite and the check-in and check-out process was straightforward. While nothing stood out in particular, everything worked as expected. It is a suitable option if you are looking for a simple and practical place to stay.

I arrived before check in time, but I received a room key. The staff was very nice, and gave me tour information. Express Bus terminals is 3minutes away by walk and the most tour spots is near. I enjoyed tour by walk

I arrived in the morning and called to drop off my luggage. I couldn't see the owner or staff. (I called twice: once to drop off my luggage, and once to ask about my room number when I checked in.) The phone number is on the sign at the entrance to the hanok. If you go into the lounge at the back of the building, there's a baggage storage area(?) where you can leave your luggage. I was worried I might lose it, but they said they'd never lost anything before, so I trusted them and dropped my luggage off. I was so relieved to find my luggage still there when I checked in at 3:10 PM. I had a great night's sleep in room 102. The room was warm and clean thanks to the ondol (Korean-style heated floor). The only downside was that there was no mini-fridge, and there was no Wi-Fi in the room (the common lounge does). You can use the water purifier in the lounge. Breakfast is provided, but I checked out at 9 AM because of the morning bus schedule. I had a great night's stay in a clean place. Thank you.

My review would've been a lot better if there wasn't a promised breakfast. (A box with cup noodles on the floor under the microwave, in the reception area) Most of what made my stay uncomfortable were other guests, they made a mess of the kitchen and during the weekend I actually felt unsafe with the yelling, banging on walls and running through the hallway. The room was clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. Towels were fluffy and bedding clean. The coffee machine was empty but immediately refilled when I mentioned it. The cleaning staff did amazing cleaning up the mess in the kitchen every time! Usually there was no staff at the front desk so some instructions on ”breakfast” and where to find staff (in the office next to the elevator) would've been nice, as well as where to find certain shared areas.

Because it's a holiday visit in May, the price is more expensive than other days Because other places are also higher, so not only here, so the price pass ~ ~ The location is far from the tourist spots. It's suitable for sleeping after sightseeing. The motel has a preconception that it is usually dark, so I was worried about staying with my child, but the interior atmosphere was better than I thought. I could eat coffee, cup noodles, eggs, bread, and so on for breakfast. If you stay at the same price, you won't go, but if it costs 100,000 won, I think I'll consider visiting again.
