4-Star Hotels in Gyeongju

My child, who lives abroad, really wanted to visit Gyeongju, so we decided to go. Initially, my child insisted on a standard hotel, but I convinced them to try a Hanok (traditional Korean house) stay, and they absolutely loved it! They even said they'd want to come back. We stayed in the Seondeok room for 3 days and 2 nights. It was so clean and nice to have wooden floors instead of dusty carpets. All the amenities, bedding, and towels were fresh and odorless. The mattress was comfortable, and the air conditioning was clean too. The sandwiches prepared for breakfast were delicious, and the location offered great access to Hwanglidan-gil. But above all, the kindness of the owners was the best part. I don't know when I'll be able to visit Gyeongju again, but if I do, I'd love to stay here once more. Thanks to Madang Hanok, our trip was perfectly fulfilling with no regrets. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay at this villa. It is located away from the city centre, offering a quiet and peaceful environment. Having a car makes getting around very convenient. While it is possible to take a bus or use ride-hailing services, public transport may be less convenient as buses run approximately every 30 minutes. There are limited dining options nearby. We found that many restaurants in Gyeongju primarily offer dine-in service, so takeaway options can be difficult to find. The villa is modern, well-equipped, and appears relatively new. Our unit came with a private pool, which was a great feature. The property is also pet-friendly, with thoughtful facilities such as a pet shower area, pet play area, and dedicated dog and cat houses, making it a comfortable stay for those travelling with pets. The amenities and installations felt new and well maintained. There were also a few additional villas still under construction in the surrounding area, suggesting that the development is continuing to expand.

Everything exceeded our expectations - very spacious, everything new, nice private pool. Very quite and peaceful place but still close enough to many attractions in and around Gyeongju. Note: no real personal service, since you just rent a Hanbok villa. Access via digital door lock. Fresh towels provided every day. Fully equipped kitchen.We did not need anything else and even extended our stay for one more night.

We love the Hanok stay, it’s located in a cultural village which is great for traditional local culture experience. The view was great and it’s quite at all times. You can hear chirping birds in the morning even. The host was so nice introducing everything during our check in, she prepared a feast breakie for us. There are Hanbok for rental at an extremely cheap price. We rented for all the family members to take photoshoot in the cultural village.

This was my first time staying in a hanok, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The location was perfect – within walking distance of the historic district yet quiet and very peaceful. The guesthouse itself was spotlessly clean, which was lovely. I thought it was room-only, but to my surprise, there were self-service breakfast items available, and we enjoyed some bread and instant noodles. It felt so homely, and my kids had an absolute blast. It's an unforgettable memory for us.

The elderly couple that owns the pension are the nicest people. They upgraded our room to a larger one without an additional fee to accomodate us since we were booking for 3 people. And during check we were wondering if we can store our luggage since the pension is considerably close to Bulguksa and Seokguram, so we wanted to leave the luggage there since we were planning to take the bus and we were gonna take it back afterwards. Instead, they offered to drive us to Bulguksa with all of our belongings and showing where the luggage storage service in Bulguksa. I would really recommend this pension. They really brings the hospitality standards to another level.

The room is very spacious and has a warm style. For the price of a Korean traditional house, it is very cost-effective and highly recommended. As for the location, it is a bit far from the city. The advantage is that it is very quiet and you can really have a good rest and relax.👍👍 房間的空間很大，很溫馨的風格。以韓屋的價格來說，性價比很高，非常推薦。至於地點，距離市區有點距離，好處就是很安靜，真的可以好好休息和放鬆。👍👍

This is our 7th trip to Elafonisi. Our favorite couples or family trip stay. Always great service and accommodation. We were a little disappointed that the out door pool on beach was still not cleaned and ready for the season but we may have been early. We will continue to stay here and make a family trip soon. Good experience of staying in a hanok, location was a 20 minute walk to the walking street (public transport not as convenient, maybe more suitable for groups who rented a car) Breakfast provided was self service, e.g. make your own eggs/instant ramen. Apples were provided though not the freshest. First come first serve - no more milk if you arrive late (though could be limited communication skills too) We were told off for staying in the common area after checking out even though it was raining.

Clean, hanok-inspired room with extra friendly staff. The food downstairs at the lobby was delicious too. 24h convenience store also on site. Quiet serene place surrounded by mountains but only 17 min away from the main attractions in Gyeongju. Would definitely stay here next time as I enjoyed the comfortable somnolent stay away from the busy downtown area.
