2-Star Hotels in Koh Phangan District

We stayed for 3 nights, which felt like more than enough time before heading to Koh Tao. We had plenty of time to visit the viewpoint and take photos everywhere without the crowds of day-trippers. It truly felt like we were on a deserted island! The room had everything we needed: toiletries, hot water, a fridge, a kettle, tea, and coffee. Housekeeping was daily. Breakfast was included, even though it wasn't mentioned in the booking. For breakfast, they bring you a sheet where you mark what you'd like them to prepare (the menu is consistent, but you can choose how your eggs are cooked and your coffee – the coffee seemed to be instant). There are two restaurants on the island: one on the hotel premises where breakfast is served, offering European cuisine. The other is further down, near the 'spit,' and serves Thai food with more reasonable prices; day-trippers often ate there. Prices are higher than on Koh Tao for obvious reasons, as there are no shops. However, there's a free daily shuttle to Koh Tao and back, which is convenient for longer stays. For example, a 0.33L beer on the island costs 120 baht, a mango shake is 150 baht, and dishes start from 300+ baht.

I liked the proximity to the beach and the location itself. If you overlook the minor issues, then, in principle, considering the price and location, everything is fine and more or less decent. For example, our air conditioner was noisy. During a check-in, the hotel manager asked how we were doing. I told him that the air conditioner was noisy and asked him to fix it, and it was all fixed that same day. I recommend cleaning the plumbing. Friendly service and they book cars for you. No complaints other than having a loud neighbor half the stay

Loved the hotel! They let me check in much earlier than the stated time without any issues. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, and housekeeping was available on demand. They refilled the water bottles every day. The room had AC, a hairdryer, shower gel, shampoo, cups, and glasses. The hot water pressure was good, despite having an instantaneous water heater. The hotel is beautiful and well-maintained. There's a nice common area by the pool with sun loungers and tables. There are cafes and shops nearby. You can walk to the pier in 15-20 minutes, or get there in about 8 minutes on a moped.

Honestly best hostel in Koh Tao. Staff are fantastic there’s lots of hang out space and parking. The rooms are consistently spotless. Really made my trip. Would recommend no other hostel on island compared. I stayed in another before hand and it cost more for way less. They have a bar too with good prices.

We were looking for a short stopover on Koh Tao and booked a room with a balcony. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. They don't offer breakfast, but you can find nearby cafes. It's a 5-minute walk to 7/11, Tesco Lotus, and a self-service laundry. There are also nightlife options close by. When checking in, be aware that the hotel also houses a hostel, so there might be a lot of young people who could be noisy. During our stay, however, it was quiet. I recommend this hotel.

It was ok size for 4 people. Overall comfortable but lack of few details that would have make our stay more enjoyable. There was no: - soap holder - so soap stay on counter being wet - No hand towel or other towel size than bath towel - no hook to hang towel. - No place to dry clothes after the beach. No drying rack on balcony, no clothes line, no nothing - Don't count on having hot water- you can either have hot water or pressure, not both... Overall - the walls of the hotel are so thin, you can hear your neighbors sings, talk, shower, etc... Since people party a lot, they come back late to their room, so with 2 small children, it was very bad as they kept waking up in the middle of the night...Our neighbors were drunk and really noisy...we did not have luck on this one. Will not come back with kids for sure, but maybe with adults only.

”Spectacular views, shame about everything else” Venus on Koh Phangan is the definition of a mixed bag—and unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives here. Let's start with what works: the view is absolutely stunning. Perched overlooking the water, it's genuinely breathtaking and exactly what you'd hope for when booking an island getaway. If you're someone who can sit on a balcony and stare at the sea for hours, you'll get that here. The problem is you'll have to stare at it from a very tired room. The accommodation is old and frankly, dying for a renovation. Everything feels dated and worn—furniture, fittings, decor—like stepping back in time but not in a charming way. It's functional at best. The location compounds the issues. It's terrible—nothing around at all, and almost inaccessible by foot. You'll absolutely need your own transportation (scooter or taxi) just to get to a restaurant or convenience store. If you're without wheels, you're stranded. Overall, Venus trades entirely on its view, but neglects everything else. If you prioritize scenery above all and have your own transport, maybe. Otherwise, look for somewhere that puts equal effort into the actual accommodation and location.

Great place overlooking the pool which is sometimes used for diver training but doesn't affect you using it at all.  Staff are really good good service and cleaning etc.  I would stay again being a diver, it's all there and diving is not far away. Some of it anyhow.  Aircon leaked like a tap over he bed. Dripped water. Never seen that before.  But good spot.

Overall, it was good, but we were met by a very dissatisfied woman who didn't even know anyone would settle and for what time. She told us to wait 20 minutes e until she washed the floor in our bungalow. This moment confused me, it feels that no one is waiting at all and is not preparing for the settlement. If you say so for the first time in Phangan, it is good for the first time, but for such money you can find something better
