MMireille RIPPSTEINI highly recommend it. It's a family home that has been transformed into a small, intimate hotel, decorated with care and lovely details by a local designer. The hotel is brand new (December 2025) and very clean. It's a family business, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially the young employee, Mr. Li. I was offered tea and fruit and received a lot of attention. Communication is very smooth thanks to their translation app. There are rooms on the ground floor, which is convenient if you have heavy luggage (a quick reminder for Westerners: the ground floor in China is equivalent to the first floor). On the ground floor, there's a large lounge area with a big screen TV, and on the second floor, there's a pleasant terrace overlooking the Chaoyang Gate and a second tea room (there's another one next to the reception). The room is beautiful and has all the necessary modern amenities. The mattress is very comfortable. It's located within easy walking distance of all the tourist attractions via small streets: the old town, the miniature train, the Zhu family garden, and the lake… The value for money is incredible. It's also accessible by car.

MM377350****Very satisfied with the homestay, the front desk was very enthusiastic to take us in. It was a lady who also helped us carry our luggage. When we left, we watched us drive out safely. The service was in place. There was a fruit plate every day. Auntie saw that we liked to eat sunshine roses. We gave it to us, and the room was satisfied and quiet. Sleep well.

GGuest UserWe had a truly enjoyable stay at this lovely homestay in Jianshui. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged, giving us a comfortable place to relax after exploring the town.
The location was perfect—peaceful, yet just a short walk or ride to Jianshui's historic old town, the Confucius Temple, and the beautiful Zhu Family Garden. The architecture and local atmosphere were charming, and we felt like we got a real taste of traditional Yunnan culture.
Our hosts also provided great suggestions for local food and sights, which made our trip even more memorable. This homestay was the perfect base for discovering the beauty and history of Jianshui.
Highly recommended—we would happily stay here again!

GGuest UserSuper cozy yard very nice person quiet and large room, close to main street and very convenient to everywhere. Thanks for suggestions and helps from the elegant hostel lady, like went back home and saw your grandma and family. Jianshui is also worth to go back many times, time stopped there and addicted to various rice noodles.

XxoolisaI had a lovely one night stay here, but I wish I had more days. The location is within the ancient city but in a quiet street so you can easily access the sights without being in the crowd. The owner is the architect of the place, and you can see the thoughtfulness and taste everywhere. The decor is beautiful but not overly done, and details are delicate. I had the room with a slide and it was a creative addition. The towels are super soft and all the hardwares are high quality.
At night the owner invited me to drink tea with him and another couple who was also traveling. We talked about our travel stories and beliefs - it was a wonderful time and left great memories in Jianshui!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is very conveniently located by the North Gate and in a smaller alley thereof, so it's not noisy at all. The decoration is beautiful, especially the inner court yard is very nice with lots of plants and flowers. The service is great! The receptionist was very kind and helpful. The room itself is nice with good amenities and nicely decorated. The only downside is that the windows to the courtyard can only be fastened through a shutter, so light and noise may still get in. Since it's an inner courtyard though, it's manageable. Around the hotel are a lot of shops and restaurants and Confucius' temple is not far. Would definetly come again!

MM272287****I chose Jianshui's accommodation online for a long time before departure, and finally chose this one. The accommodation experience was really satisfactory! There are not many rooms in the hotel, and each one is very big. We have a balcony facing the lake and the scenery is very good. The room was very clean and the decoration was very beautiful. The environment is very quiet and the rest is very comfortable at night. You can drink tea in the public area and the environment is very good. The boss was very enthusiastic, contacted us in advance to pick up the car at the high-speed rail station, and prepared fruit for us. The boss also provided us with food and play guides. The homestay can also rent an electric car, which is very convenient. The scenery along the way to Tuanshan is very good. The hotel is just outside Chaoyang Gate, and it takes only 1 minute to walk to the ancient city. I will come to Jianshui next time!

Location : a 5mn walk from the Old city, and from lots of restaurants at night. very easy to find.
Staff : very nice staff! Despite not speaking English, they tried their best to please me. They helped me book a taxi, and talk to the driver. I was disappointed I was not in the building with the garden, and granted me access to the garden part.
Hotel : Congratulations to the designer, who is a VERY talented person. The design, mixing old and new, is absolutely stunning. It respects tradidtions, but with a twist.
the garden is exceptional. having the tea there was one of the highlights of my entire trip.
Rooms : they are super luxurious, huge, with marble bathrooms and Japanese toilets. But a loise of traffic noise from mine.
Only downside : this hotel is made of two buildings, which are on the other side of the street. The fish tank building has this amazing fisthtank, but it located in a VERY noisy street. My bedroom was overlooking the street, it was difficult in the morning. The garden building is super calm in an alley, all the rooms are overlooking this incredible old garden, no noise. I would recommend the owner to clearly indicate in which building the rooms are during the booking to avoid any potential disappointment upon arrival. rooms in the fishtank part are the cheapest.
Overall I was happy with my stay, it's one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed in. But beware of the building you are booking to avoid surprises! I wish I had stayed longer.

AAnonymous UserThe ancient town isn't large, and the climate is comfortable, so we decided to stay an extra night. The area around the guesthouse offers a wide variety of meals, from main courses to snacks, catering to all budgets. We explored and ate according to our mood, without any particular destination in mind. Everything happens for a reason; finding what you like and what suits you is what makes it worthwhile.

GGuest UserThe room decoration is very new, the bed pillows and quilts are very comfortable, the WiFi is very fast, the boss and the couple are very good and very enthusiastic. Mom was afraid of the cold, and the boss also helped to add a thick blanket (>﹏<)
Anyway, you can find the boss for anything! Quality hotel!
There are a lot of food near the hotel, that Qujiang barbecue is super delicious!
