Guest UserI booked Fanqi B&B after reading online reviews. On the morning of the day I submitted the order, I received a call from the store telling me about the nearby parking lot. I arrived at the B&B that night and found that the small front door was a different world from the inside. The four-entry courtyard has a history of a hundred years. The store owner was very enthusiastic and upgraded our room and introduced the historical story of the courtyard. He also provided us with scenic spots and food guides for visiting Jianshui. The room and bathroom were also very clean, the hot water temperature was very high, the breakfast was very rich and provided according to our requirements. The B&B also provided free Hanfu for us to take photos and barbecue around the stove. Traveling off-peak, there are not many tourists. We found the feeling of home in Fanqi, which made us start a pleasant journey

I have always been a bit hesitant to book this kind of old house B&B, fearing poor soundproofing, fear of noise, and fear of small rooms, but Zhuye Xuan completely subverted my concept. It is delicious, delicious, and comfortable to live in. Living here is cultural. Thank you Jasmine, thank you Sasha, thank you to other friends, thank you for making our stay warm🙏🙏🙏
Afternoon tea snacks and breakfast have always been something I will never forget, as well as the delicious hand-brewed coffee next door👍👍👍

Guest UserFirst, the location is excellent, right across from the tourist train station, so you don't have to worry about catching the train in the morning. The owner can also help you buy train tickets. Second, the facilities are complete and everything you need is provided, and the place is clean. Third, the owner is very welcoming and offers pick-up/drop-off service from the station. They also provide breakfast, and even if it's past lunchtime and they're out of food, the owner will give you a ticket to eat at the restaurant next door (the beef rice noodles there are quite delicious, with a rich broth)... Overall, it's very good, great value for money, highly recommended.

Guest UserJianshui is a name that sounds a little different from Yunnan's traditional style. I drove thousands of kilometers to its door and realized that it was actually a small county under the jurisdiction of a minority autonomous prefecture. It wasn't until I actually entered it that I found that it was lined with ancient buildings just like its name. Like water overflowing
Before coming here, I had seen the introduction of this B&B by chance. At that time, I was deeply impressed by the old pomegranate tree in the courtyard and the compliments of the proprietress’s cooking skills. At the same time, I was also yearning for the proprietor’s previous experience in making pottery, so I decisively booked two days.
first meeting
The location indicated by the navigation was disconnected. After contacting the boss, we parked in a large parking lot. After parking the car, we saw a man with flowery arms smiling by the wall. After greeting him, he enthusiastically led him into the yard. Beyond the stairs was the main entrance of the B&B.
learn
Upon entering the door, there is a screen wall with various bonsais and flowers. Before entering the room, the boss invites you to sit down and drink a few cups of Kung Fu tea. This scene appeared frequently in the following days. Everyone really loves tea.
The first thing the boss asked was why we came to Jianshui. In fact, my wife and I had watched ”Daily Life of Literature” and were attracted by Jianshui's quietness and peace in the episode where we met Teacher Yu Jian. The boss also knew a little about Teacher Jian. They should all be people who like literature.
This B&B was renovated from the old mansion of the government office more than 400 years ago. It is the third entrance of the three-entry courtyard. The place is not big, but it is very charming. The room we stayed in at night has been fully modernized and improved, and some are available downstairs. When you open the window in the laundry and drying room, you can see the old tower of Yuhuang Pavilion and take a closer look.
Life
During the two days he lived in the hospital, my son spent most of the time downstairs chatting and having fun with his boss, his wife, his brother, his brother-in-law, his sister-in-law, his father-in-law and mother-in-law. Yes, he has figured out all the relationships between the boss and his family, just like family members. Generally, you can feel as comfortable here as if you were at home
It’s a pity that the B&B does not provide dinner every morning. There is special grass sprout rice noodles every morning, and here you can sleep until you wake up naturally. Even if you wake up at 11 o’clock, you can still eat a bowl of freshly made delicious rice noodles. I remember that I have to hold on after 8 o’clock. How can I feel sorry for the steamed buns and hard-boiled eggs that I eat when I wake up?
The first meal we had when we arrived was the Xiaobo BBQ recommended by the B&B. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the B&B. In fact, it is not far from various places in the city. You can rest assured and take your time. We sat down to have a barbecue and waited for about 1 and a half hours before leaving. If you order it, you may have to wait 2 hours, but the moment the barbecue comes into your mouth, I think it is worth the wait and the price is very reasonable. I think it is really good.
I didn’t want to eat barbecue the next day. I passed by the vegetable market and saw some wild mushrooms. I wanted to buy some mushrooms and go to the B&B to cook for myself. My cooking skills are also good, but I was afraid that not handling the mushrooms well would affect the rest of the trip. So I decided to go to the local area, which is also famous. The guests who had packed up at the restaurant and went out for fun had not yet returned to their rooms, leaving us alone as a family. We sat under the pomegranate tree, drank wine, admired the moon, and had a delicious meal like the ancients. During this period, the pomegranates on our heads ripened and fell. It was a rare experience. one

The room was great, with a separate wet/dry toilet, which was very convenient. They provided disposable bath towels and individual small packages of toiletries, including舒克 (Shuke) toothpaste. You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into it. The inn has two floors with an elevator that also goes to the underground parking garage. The breakfast was delicious, served individually, and very clean. There's a purified water dispenser right outside the room, and a coffee shop. The evening lighting was beautiful. It's right by the ancient city gate, making it easy to get around. Highly recommended! All my photos are of the inn itself.

I'm a lazy person who rarely writes reviews, but this time I was deeply moved by the owner and his family. Even the cleaning lady was so friendly and lovely. It truly revitalized my solo trip to Jianshui. The hotel is perfectly located, away from the hustle and bustle, yet very close to the train station and the ancient city—just over a hundred meters away. There are many traditional rice noodle shops just outside the door, so you can leisurely fill your stomach before heading out to explore.
When I was going to and from the station, the owner drove a tricycle to the intersection to pick me up, worried about the inconvenience of lugging my luggage, even though it was only a few steps away. In the morning, when they saw me in the room, they asked if I wanted breakfast (my reservation didn't include it). I had already eaten, but the owner insisted on giving me an egg for protein and a box of brown sugar before I left. The ladies said they'd come back next year, and I replied, ”I'll be back in two months!” ❤️
I'm from the north, and this family is so gentle and polite. The entire inn is elegant and grand. The two-story courtyard is surrounded by bougainvillea, where you can swing on the swings, watch the moon, drink tea, and chat—it's so relaxing. The interior is on par with a four-star hotel in the city, with separate wet and dry areas, disposable towels, and brand-new hard and soft furnishings. The air is also very airy. I don't like old, dingy hotels, so this truly felt like home!
Thank you again to the owner for his thoughtful hospitality. He booked me a train ticket in the middle of the night, provided me with food, drinks, and hairbands, and offered travel advice along the way. Please keep driving! I'll be back with friends.
Please see the pictures for the ambiance!

ChendayewananLocation: Conveniently located near Chaoyang Gate, making it easy to get to the small train station and the ancient city – perfect for a city walk.
Ambiance: The hotel boasts pavilions, terraces, and carps swimming happily, with a strong ancient aesthetic that's incredibly photogenic. They even offer free traditional costume rentals! The public areas feature free water dispensers, a laundry room, the Orchid Pavilion tea room, fitness facilities, and complimentary massage chairs 👍.
Room: The rooms are very spacious with comfortable bedding, and the hot water is excellent. We even got a room upgrade during the off-peak season!
Service: The staff are all incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful, making you feel completely at home.
Overall, highly recommended!

This was my bad for not checking more closely, but this hotel isn't located inside the ancient city. If you were to come from the train station and then take a bus to the ancient city gate, it's a bit of a walk to this hotel. I believe it'd be a good stay for drivers since there's a parking lot, but not for people without cars. Moreover, there is currently really loud construction right outside the hotel that starts early in the morning, so be mindful of that. Otherwise the room itself is fine, pretty spacious and clean.

If you drive to Jianshui, you don't have to choose a place near the ancient city. There is free parking near the ancient city. This hotel is about 2 kilometers away from the ancient city and the purple pottery night market by car. It's very close, not on the main road. I live on the 4th floor next to the road. I can't hear the sound of cars when I close the windows at night. It's quite quiet. You can park in front of the hotel, but the parking spaces are limited. However, the security guard can guide you to park for free on the nearby roadside, which is very convenient. The ladies at the front desk are very sweet and cute, enthusiastic, patient and meticulous. The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is particularly warm and thoughtful in providing the services shown in my photos. The only thing is that the breakfast is average, with not much content, but it is enough.
