Amazing
Rrosemary0813Location: Excellent! It's super convenient – just exit the west gate of the train station, cross the road, and go through a passage. There are tons of food options nearby; a bustling snack street is right across the road. Shopping is incredibly convenient too, not to mention the mall attached to the station itself. You've got Matsumoto Kiyoshi downstairs, Don Quijote across the street, and Takashimaya.
Facilities: The onsen (hot springs) alternate between male and female baths daily. One bath has an outdoor pool, while the other doesn't, but overall, the experience is still great.
Service: Each day, you get a complimentary drink or alcoholic beverage at the front desk.
AAnonymous UserBoth the location and the room size of the hotel are good. Staff were accommodating and efficient. My friend enjoyed the onsen and we had a good stay in the hotel.
RRikkitangI booked the cheapest ”random room type” and arrived a little past 2 PM, just before check-in. They kindly gave me a super spacious king room with a balcony ahead of time! It's very close to the station, about a 5-minute walk. Across the street from the hotel, on the second floor, there's an izakaya with delicious fried chicken wings!
However, if you're uncomfortable with a mirror facing the bed, I wouldn't recommend it, as older hotels with traditional decor often have this setup.
You can walk to Korakuen Garden, which takes about 20 minutes if you're fast.
SSteven47This time, I stayed at Hotel Trend Okayama Ekimae, located in front of Okayama Station. I chose this hotel primarily for its convenient location, about a three-minute walk from JR Okayama Station. Convenience stores, drug stores, and the AEON mall are nearby, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. This is undoubtedly a major advantage for travelers prioritizing transportation.
My first impression of the room was cleanliness, but the overall space and furnishings were rather minimalist. The desk was small, making it a bit inadequate for using a laptop or organizing itineraries. The room had all the necessary amenities, but one concern was the lack of bottled water. This might be a bit inconvenient for those not accustomed to the ”self-service water bottle” model of Japanese hotels. I recommend stocking up at the convenience store downstairs before check-in.
Breakfast is an additional charge (800 yen) and consists primarily of Japanese-style small bowls of cold dishes. The taste is quite good, and the variety is varied. Although there are no hot entrees, it's still a good value for the price. However, travelers who prioritize breakfast might find the selection a bit limited. Regarding service, the front desk staff were friendly and spoke basic English without issue. Luggage storage is also available, which is very useful for travelers arriving early or wanting to explore after checking out.
Overall, Hotel Trend Okayama Ekimae is a convenient business hotel with basic amenities, making it suitable for a short stay. However, compared to other similarly priced hotels around Okayama Station, the value for money is slightly lower, primarily due to the lack of spacious rooms and detailed service. It's recommended for travelers seeking a convenient location, a tight schedule, and who don't mind a spacious stay.
SssssunnyIt's about a 2-minute walk from the west exit of Okayama Station. From the 2nd floor of the station, go straight towards the ANA Crown Hotel, take the escalator down, and just cross the street. Since it's in front of the station, it was easy to leave my luggage and walk around before and after check-in. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the bed was a basic double bed, so I was able to sleep comfortably alone. The breakfast was simple, but I was able to start the day with a hearty meal of the must-have items. It had a railroad view, but the soundproofing was good, so I couldn't hear the train noise very well. It was romantic to be able to watch the Shinkansen pass by.
GGuest UserNice and comfortable room however my room had building construction directly outside the window. I struggled to get sleep past 9am even though I was jet-lagged, also it was so loud I was nervous the people would be coming in through my balcony door! Good location, would stay again if it weren’t for the construction on the hotel
ジジュリアンIt is a short distance from the west exit of Okayama Station, but acceptable because the airport buses stop at the west exit and there is no need to get on and off.
However, the soundproofing is really average, facing the station, there are freight trains passing through all night, mind you may have to think about another one in the east exit.
More concerned is that the air conditioner is noisy, I do not know if there is regular maintenance for repairs, the dust filter is not washed, accumulated dust. Request to change rooms successfully, air conditioning sound problems improved, is the dust screen is the same, forget.
GGuest UserActually, it is right next to the railway but you have to take a slight detour. I think the ecology near Niwase Station is very good. You can see super cute cormorants catching big carp. The area around the hotel is very quiet. The room is quite large, much larger than the average Japanese business hotel. There are also massage chairs and jacuzzi. It is very comfortable to soak in the massage chair after walking all day. I fell asleep in the massage chair. The front desk staff are very enthusiastic and always smiling. The hygiene is very clean. The soles of your feet are especially clean when you walk barefoot. There is a 711 nearby, but the hotel can also order meals. You have a good rest. I highly recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserThis was my first time in Okayama, and I chose this hotel. They offer free breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is a buffet with both Western and Japanese options, so you can choose what you like. For dinner, there are two choices: a rotating daily set meal or a fixed curry rice dish.
The public bath is a bit small, but it's fine for about four or five people.
The hotel is about an eight-minute walk from Okayama Station. There's a Don Quijote along the way, and plenty of restaurants and izakayas nearby, so there are lots of dining options. Convenience stores are also very close.
The room I stayed in this time was quite spacious, even with my luggage open, there was still plenty of room.
I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Okayama.
The only thing to be aware of is that there are about five or six steps right after you enter, which can be a bit challenging if you have heavy luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.
GGuest UserIt's very close to the station, Aeon Mall, Don Quijote, and supermarkets. It's an unmanaged hotel, but if you check in online in advance, you only need to scan a QR code at the hotel, which is very convenient. The kitchen in the room is fully equipped; I cooked many meals of instant noodles in the room (and even added a lot of ingredients I bought at the supermarket 😎). Highly recommended!!!
