Amazing
MM2fvyb58w****I have to give the hotel staff 100 stars! They always greeted us with a genuine smile, helped us with our luggage, planned our itinerary, and arranged transportation flawlessly. Their thoughtful service was truly touching, and we will definitely be back next time.
Nnigel sohRooms were very spacious (great to organizing our luggage. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Location was right in the middle of the city so it was very convenient and close by to some of the nicest food spots.
Overall, 10/10 recommend!
XXiaLinCharleneWe have mixed feelings about our time at this hotel. The location is excellent with a beautiful swimming beach on your door step and breathtaking sunset views. It is worth informing the hotel before your arrival to arrange assistance especially if you have heavy luggage, as the hotel does not clearly indicate how to be accessed from the road and thus most guests access the hotel form the beach. This could mean a long walk along the sand. For backpackers this won't be a problem, but families or those who don't travel light will find this to be an inconvenience. We booked a sea view room with a double bed. We were given twin beds as no double beds were available, despite our booking being made 5 months in advance. They offered to move us into the correct room after two nights but informed us that there won't be any wifi available in the new room so we ended up staying in our original room. These are small problems, but it is worth noting as the staff did not handle the situation with the professionalism we are used to receiving from other hotels. The rooms are also only cleaned every second day. The breakfast was ice cold everyday and the worst out of all the hotel breakfasts we had during our stay in the Philippines. Still, the location of this hotel is ideal for spending days on the beach and the zip line is practically above the hotel so it could be worth staying here and having meals at one of the hotels next door. We can confidently say that we ate the best pizza next door.
BBlade.around.the.worldUniversity /University dorm partially turned into a hotel with minimal investment. The result is mostly positive. The hotel is very photogenic so it's easy to get the impression that it's much more swanky than it actually is.. I enjoyed my stay, the staff is friendly, it's clean, surrounded by greenery and nice views. Don't let the name Hotel Palacio fool you, don't expect a palace, the hotel is modest but comfortable. Location wise, it's out of town which was no problem for me as I had prearranged a motorbike during my 7 days stay. For those pending on jeepney public transport or tricycle taxis, places like the baywalk are far away. The van I had organised to the airport early morning with the receptionist was punctually waiting for me. Everything was good. Expect a 3 star property and you won't be disappointed.
GGuest UserSecond booking with Vela Terraces and we made the same request to put us in a lower floor so we don’t have to climb all the stairs with our young toddler but unfortunately they were fully booked so we got a room on the 4th floor. It wasn’t that bad because the staff helped move ALL our luggage for us and we had 2 large hard suitcases plus a huge backpack carrier and multiple smaller bags which were all heavy. Very much appreciated the help! Since we knew about all the stairs from the reviews, there’s nothing to complain about. Despite no free upgrade because they were fully booked, the bed like the first time was very comfortable and the service was just as good as the first. The bathroom however wasn’t as nice as the Family room which was where we stayed during our first visit. It’s an open shower with a piece of glass that covers half the shower but water can still spray out. The bathroom light kept flickering and there were some ants. But all in all, it was still a good stay. AC worked well and they provided bottled water. If you want a better room, book the Family room on the 2nd floor! It makes a difference! The hotel is close to Dayon Kamo Food park which is a cute place with multiple food stalls. Great food, live music, love the atmosphere!
GGuest UserMy stay here was ok, but I would definitely not return. The biggest turn offs were - when you enter the building and take the elevator to the floor where reception is, the elevator literally smells like dirty wet stinky socks. Always. It's disgusting, and the first impression you get of the hotel itself. The first room that I was given had a horrible smell or mold - and I asked the staff to step inside and if they would stay in a room that smelled that bad. I did sleep in that room one night, and when the a/c turns off, it drips inside the ducts for quite a while. I'm sure that there's a build up of mold because it's quite strong. They moved me to an upgraded room, which they had sprayed with a deoderizer - as if that would convince me that it would be any different - and it smelled good....for about an hour, and then the mold smell that I had smelled in the first room was also noticable in the new room. For breakfast, you have a choice of 3 or 4 different types of menus. The portion sizes are great but you won't starve either. The rooms would be great if it were'nt for the smell. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and cleaned daily.
AAnonymous UserThis place is fantastic! Location-wise, it’s really great. It’s very near the city’s commercial establishments and great restaurants - 5-minute drive on average. It’s also near the airport. The neighborhood in which it is in is very quiet and peaceful. So if you want a place that’s very accessible but still in a quiet location, this hotel is for you.
I also would like to commend the staff - they’re all very warm and friendly. They were very accommodating and gladly answered all our questions about our travel.
This hotel has a resort vibe so you really get to relax. It has great amenities, a lovely pool, and a relaxing main reception hall with a billiard table and comfy couches. It also has an in-house restaurant which is great for those who don’t want to go out to dine. Our room was very clean, cozy and surprisingly large for its price.
We would definitely book this place again when we visit Puerto Princesa in the future. Definitely worth the price! 🫶
Mmajgatz**Review of Microtel Hotel**
We recently stayed at Microtel Hotel, booking two rooms, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.
The rooms were outdated, with dim lighting that made it hard to see. The shower controls were rusted, and even the tissue holders showed significant wear. We were surprised to find that there’s no in-house restaurant, and the breakfast offered was not worth the price.
Despite having a small number of guests, the breakfast options were limited to eggs, sausage, tocino, bread, rice, fruit slices, coffee, and juice. It took a long time for the staff to refill these items, and they weren’t even heated properly. To add to our frustration, my nephew, who is in grade 5, was charged as an adult because they don’t have a child rate.
The towels were also outdated, which contributed to the overall feeling of neglect in terms of maintenance.
On a positive note, the staff were welcoming and friendly, which was appreciated. The beach in front of the resort was beautiful, but it wasn't enough to make up for the lack of proper amenities and upkeep.
Overall, we left feeling that Microtel Hotel needs significant improvements to meet basic hospitality standards.
GGuest UserThis is a bit of a special place. The hotel is right at its own private beach. It‘s very isolated from everything else which can be nice if you don‘t want to leave the hotel at all. We wanted to go to the town some evenings and that is a bit of a challenge. You first have to take a golf car (which only runs until 10pm) and then change into a tricycle. The tricycles won‘t go directly to the hotel because the last bit of the road is too steep and winded. The other option is to walk along the beach for 20 minutes instead of using the golf car for the last bit, which we did a couple of times. It‘s not too dangerous but there are stray dogs.
The food in the hotel restaurant was Italian and just ok, nothing amazing. The service was not great. Two women seem to know how to run a hotel but the rest of the staff were rather useless. They often seemed annoyed, even when we were just ordering food. We once asked about the zipline that is literally next door and they didn‘t know anything about it (price, time, how to get there). They organised a tour for us, which was great, but messed up the booking somehow so the tour guide thought we were only two people instead of four, which resulted in less food for lunch. And then they even charged us more for the tour.
Our room was fine. Clean and no bugs. Yes, you can hear everything but we didn‘t mind that. The room was only made up on request though.
The whole area is beautiful but there were a few things that annoyed us. So I wouldn‘t come back.
GGuest UserThe service staff is very friendly, and the location is very convenient. You can walk to the busiest street in town and the seaside! The twin room we booked is facing the sunset, so it is very convenient to watch the sunset from the room. The room is big, but you just need to pay attention to whether there are mice...
