Great
GGuest UserThe taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people.
However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned.
Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day.
One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police.
Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.
CChris 王墨迪Overall the hotel has certainly fallen over the past 3 years and it’s pretty sad to see this happen, if you’re a single traveler or a couple I would recommend but I couldn’t recommend the hotel to families in its current state.
Management: Great management they listen to complaints, they are responsible and try to solve all issues. Sadly the management don’t have so much to work with these days.
General staff: A large percentage of the staff are Cambodian and living in limbo with the current issues between both countries. With the exception of one or two Cambodian staff most are either depressed and miserable or damn right rude, unhelpful and disrespectful. (The floor manager explained this himself)
Rooms: Nice and simple rooms the do the job but aging fast. The rooms look good but are not high quality materials and it shows the labor and material quality is low and cheap. Showers have virtually no pressure when the hotel is busy and the water won’t reach higher than luke-warm.
Location: I have to say it’s one of the best locations on the island when considering location and facilities and I guess this is their main selling point. They have shops, bars, restaurants, coffee shop and more.
Patrons: Most of the year the majority of visitors are going to be Tha and Asian, they are respectful, they have manners and they will be great to holiday alongside. During Christmas to New Year there were too many rude Europeans especially Swedish tourists, these tourists camped and took over large areas of the bar and restaurants, they moved around furniture, they were rude and disrespectful to other tourists leaving trash noise and mess wherever they visited. (Staff and management ignored)
Note: This used to be a great hotel and I have continuously visited over the past several years. Unfortunately I have begun to see a degradation of the hotel, the attitude towards western tourists (due to poor behavior of westerners) as well as issues related to the diplomatic issues between Cambodia and Thailand. I due hope this improves in the future.
With new staff or new immigration laws as well as new investment into the hotel it could easily thrive once more.
GGuest UserResort has a nice location.
However the quality of rooms is not that good.
We stayed in pool view room, which has big windows, feels no privacy.
Room ventilation is bad, have a not fresh smell
Breakfast is okay for 3 starts beach hotel.
Restaurant food one the THE BEST! on island.
Recommend to have lunch in this place.
Hotel gives complimentary kayak, it was a great experience !
MMegan EastThe hotel is lovely, and the traditional wooden bungalow is perfect for a solo traveler, what was not great is the constant music till 10 at night, if you are looking for peace and quiet this is not the place to stay. Starting at 5 you have the saxophone player, followed by a one man band, then the fire show, and then the one man’s band again till 10- to 10.30. It repeats the same format every night, so you have to make sure you are away from it. The way the resort is set out, it’s hard to escape the constant noise. 5 days of this and I need another vacation just from the lack of sleep. If you like the constant party vibe then you will love it. I would think they just save their money, do one massive fire show on the weekend, and have chill during the early week days.

GGuest UserPros:
1. Location is ideal ( walking distance between two beach ) and right by the beach
2. Room is big and toilet is spacious with a wardrobe
3. Big smart TV
Cons:
1. Hotel is up the hill and it is very steep. It is a 3 storey buildings (our room is all the way up the top). Had to ”hike up” the hills and then the stairs. ( each trip is a cardio )
Not ideal to commute back and forth from the room to the beach. Not for elderly/ ppl with disabilities.
2. Breakfast is very average. There was limited seating so had to wait and refills took very long ( kitchen seemed to be short staffed in the high season )
Overall, the stay was average.

GGuest UserOverall of the services are not bad. Only the disappointing part is the toilet. The cleanliness of toilet is killing me. And the water drainage stuck and flooding in toilet.
Other than that, its still okay for me.
NNik KingsmanWe recently stayed at Samet Cabana Resort on Ao Wong Duean, and it was exactly the tropical escape we were looking for. We booked the Beach Cabana, and we cannot recommend it enough.
The Room:
Staying in the Beach Cabana meant waking up to the sound of the waves every morning. Stepping out onto the porch with a view of the ocean was the highlight of the trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and had that authentic island bungalow feel while still having modern amenities (the AC worked great!). Being just a few steps from the water made all the difference.
The Location:
Ao Wong Duean is a fantastic beach, it’s lively enough to have good restaurants and fire shows at night, but much more relaxed than the busy main pier area. The water was clear and great for swimming right in front of the resort.
Service & Food:
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, from check-in to check-out. The breakfast buffet had a good mix of options to start the day.
If you are coming to Koh Samet, do yourself a favour and splurge a little for the Beach Cabana. It transforms the trip from a standard hotel stay into a real beach holiday. We’ll definitely be back!
NNoooooooThe location is excellent — right by a beautiful and peaceful beach with soft, clean white sand. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always smiling and helpful. The room was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. There were quite a lot of mosquitoes, but the hotel provided mosquito repellent mats in the room, which was a thoughtful touch.
As for breakfast, the day I stayed there were quite a lot of guests, so the food ran out quickly and was not replenished in time. If the breakfast service could be improved during peak times, the overall experience would be even better.
GGuest UserI have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room.
The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there).
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there.
I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future.

GGuest UserLa Lune on Koh Samet... it was alright, but nothing to rave about. When we entered the room, it wasn't cleaned well – there was sand on the floor and even in the bed, which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. The pool, however, was really good, but room service barely worked, and breakfast was just so-so. The beach, though, was absolutely beautiful, with plenty of space and sun loungers, so that made up for some of it. Overall: okay, but it could easily have been better. 🌴✨
