Ppi-doruBeing a high-end hotel, I expected to receive reasonable service, but there were many disappointing aspects.
On the first day of my stay, I didn't know how to set up the TV, so I called a staff member, but even though I kept repeating the words I wanted to watch YouTube and Amazon Prime, all they did was show me the TV channel list.
Why didn't they understand? Isn't it a problem that goes beyond whether they understand English?
To top it off, they told me to wait five minutes and left the room, and no one ever came.
Also, I couldn't fill the bathtub with hot water, so I asked them to come and check it, but they never came. I called the front desk three times before they finally came. About 30 minutes had passed since I first called.
The inspection staff also only spoke Thai, so I had to communicate using a translation app.
The bathtub problem was eventually resolved, but at this rate, I can't help but feel uneasy about how they'll handle any problems that arise.
Even at the on-site restaurant, they never came to clear my appetizer even after I'd finished it, and they only did so if I asked them to.
I don't want to write too many bad things, but honestly, the service is not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel, and I think it needs to be improved.
As for the room, the sink was unusually low, there was no outlet next to the bed, and the balcony was blown in by the wind with dirt and leaves, which made the area around the bathtub feel dirty. These things made me question the design of the room.
It was disappointing, as my expectations were high.
The only saving grace was that the view was beautiful and the food was delicious.

GGuest UserThe Ao Prao hotel is a gem. The tomyum soup is the best in the world. The property is immaculate and the massage was fantastic. Our room was 101 and the best location on the property. The staff is exceptional and will bend over backwards for you. Zann and Ti are so helpful. The problem is the pollution and trash in the ocean. The hotel is excellent but the water is less than desirable for a holiday.

BBENG CHUNG OngThe location is convenient for me as the nightly food Bazaar is just a stone's throw away. The rooms are big and well equipped with a microwave oven & a set of dining utensils too - unheard of for a hotel room. The gym, pool, sauna are well maintained & popular with guests & locals too. Staff are very helpful with directions, etc. Truly value for money.

WWojiashishiExcellent! This hotel is definitely one of the best on Koh Samet in terms of environment. It's super close to the beach, and the air every morning is incredibly fresh, just invigorating and relaxing. We stayed in a private bungalow right by the pool – swimming twice a day was pure bliss!

MMaria Z. from Canada.If you are picky, need private beach and a big swimming pool - this hotel is not for you. It is a nice small hotel, with small pool, great breakfast. There are rooms that can fit 4 people. It’s a 20 second walk to the beach, you can rent a beach chair or lay on the towel. This hotel only servers breakfasts, there is no lunch or dinner, but you can always get good food at Samed Villa Restaurant. It’s a pleaser stay for several days, lots of greenery on this hotel property, it’s small but cozy.

GGM MateyWell let’s see, first I don’t think we needed to pay so much for the family room. It had no windows in the room to even enjoy the view or have any natural light. The bathroom had a window, ?? But no a/c Breakfast was pre order I expect a buffet style like most hotels/resorts. Food was good tho, We checked in a little late and everything was closed but only 6pm. Had no Wi-Fi which was a big issue having kids everything closed nothing to do. Family room no bathtub? Or microwave…. The phone in the room did not work couldn’t even call the front desk. The water park is nice, time for a few repairs tho, closes at 6pm. It wasn’t the best hotel or the worse hotel/resort. But for 5,000thb around 140usd after taxes. I expected a little more.
