SShanhaiyoulingjiPros: Great location, right next to the Glow (Halo?) building. Room service was quite responsive, and overall cleanliness was acceptable.
Cons: Before 7 AM, it sounded like an absolute madhouse outside our room, with incredibly exaggerated screams, laughter, and clapping echoing non-stop. It felt like a party was happening right outside our door. I bet everyone on the 11th floor could hear it. It was so noisy I couldn't sleep, and all my positive feelings about the hotel plummeted! Around 8 AM, I couldn't take it anymore and called the front desk to complain. They said it was a few wedding parties doing some pre-wedding rituals or something. After my call, the noise finally subsided around 9:30 AM. I was already tired from traveling and just wanted to sleep in, but the noise gave me a headache, and I was yawning all day.
Honestly, this isn't a budget hotel costing two or three hundred yuan, so such poor sound insulation is unacceptable, and it makes me question the management's competence. They clearly knew there would be pre-wedding activities the next day that would disturb other guests, but they neither informed us in advance nor arranged suitable floors or rooms. Even after a guest called to complain, the hotel seemed helpless, saying their staff tried to persuade them, but the wedding parties wouldn't cooperate. So, for 800 yuan a day, I'm supposed to tolerate nearly three hours of noise? Why should I be understanding and forgiving?
I've stayed in many hotels during holidays, but this is the first time I've encountered such a situation. Noise from next door, commotion from upstairs – it seemed like three or four weddings were happening simultaneously that day. We, the guests, were just expected to put up with it. It was a serious disturbance, and the hotel's solution was just a perfunctory offer to upgrade my room next time or give a discount if my friends booked. After an experience like this, how could I possibly recommend this place to friends for a holiday stay? I advise anyone booking to ask if there are any weddings or events planned for the next day to avoid similar issues.
