A new hotel just built in front of Takayama station. It is a stay type hotel, but artists are decorated everywhere and fashionable. This time, Superior twin. The room itself is not particularly characteristic, but there is a sofa on the window side and it can be relaxed. This sofa is a bed, so you can stay for three people. Electric pots, empty refrigerators, washing dryers, microwave ovens, etc. are also complete. Recommended for long stay. The bathroom is small in the unit. Especially the toilet is small. There is a comfortable public bath, so I wanted to relax the toilet part only by shower. Amenities are only toothbrushes, and amenities are available on the first floor. Shaving, brush, tea bags such as tea and green tea, cosmetics, cotton swabs, cotton, etc. The public bath is also fashionable with designer specifications. There is also an open-air bath. We stayed here for a 2 nights on a Distant Journey (DJ) tour of Japan. Arrived around 5pm by coach from Mt Fuji area. Check in was well organised but it was after 6pm before our luggage arrived in our room on 8th floor. We were meant to meet our TM and guide between 7 and 7.30 for advice on where to have dinner. Map in hand we turned right outside hotel and proceeded into town. Recommended restaurants were very difficult to find. Any we did find, including those not mentioned, were either fully reserved or full or, as time passed towards 8pm, were closing. We headed back to the hotel to find buffet option was £45 or set Japanese meal ¥8,300 (£53). Many of us went to a 711 across the road from hotel and bought ready meals, which they heated for us in microwave, beer or wine and we retreated to our rooms. The street lighting is poor so navigation from a map was difficult. Breakfast was like school dinners but passable. Bar closes at 7pm!!! If you are reading this and are on a JD tour get to town early to stand a chance of eating out. A group did find a restaurant very close by hotel before the bridge on opposite side of road to 711 but the name unrecognisable as in Japanese, photo attached.

Extremely well located if you want to be right next to the train station and bus station - my room overlooked the tracks. Provision of washing machine and dryer is a superb bonus inroom as are the full cooking facilities. The hotel intelligently provides basics such as oil, salt, coffee, tea and even a couple of detergent sachets for the washing. Strangelt though, no knives or other cutting implements of any kind. A tip if you intent to cook. The Family Mart opposite is basic, but there is a huge supermarket under the tracks and just beyond MacDonalds where you can get international food as well as Japanese. Slightly dreary corridors and a reception crowded with people waiting for their room to become available. But on the plus side they let me into my room early as I was unwell at the time.

We were lucky to stay at Mercure Takayami on their opening night. Everything about the hotel was above our expectations. Rooms were a very comfortable with attention to detail. Having USB and USB C charging ports for our electronics next to the bed was very convenient and meant we didn't need to search for our Japan power adaptors. This hotel has been well designed with a focus on local traditional carpentry and joinery skills. When you book this hotel make sure you book a room that includes access to the private Onsen. We had an open-air experience while we watched the snow from our private onsen. Breakfast had an extensive range of Tradition Hida dishes and Western choices, with different options available each day. This was a great way to try Hida Beef Curry and Hida chicken cooked on a traditional grill. Staff were very helpful going above and beyond with their dedicated and personal service, even searching the internet for me to find a store that sold Yama Cola. We will be back to stay again and will try to stay longer next time.

overall this resort really for a relaxing holiday and to enjoy the beauty of shirakawa. But due to limited accessibility of transportation, suggest to have more frequency of shuttle service since the location is consider rural . The service of resort need to improve as they are not really go for extra miles. other than that, nice view , great ramen at night and great Onsen.

Muro-San and everyone is very friendly and helpful. They make you feel good and happy. The housekeeper was helpful too. Even though we do not understand what we were trying to say, they bothered to explain and even took out a translator so that we can communicate with better communication. Our needs were fulfilled. They provided amenities like cleansing oil, cleansing foam, face moisturizer, toner, shaving cream and after shaving toner for all their guests

It's a really good stay to experience a Japanese-style hotel. The staff and onsen are nice, they even provided free ramen, ice cream and drinks! They have 3 private onsen and 2 public onsen. 👍👍 The hotel price is low during off-peak season and weekdays.

I'm struggle to put my review in words cause I am amazed by the services offered by the hotel and the staffs. First of all, upon reaching Gero station from Nagoya station using Hida Line, we are thrilled by the surrounding atmosphere and we took our time snapping photos around not knowing that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus for all their customers. The driver waited patiently at the exit gate, holding the hotel sign board waiting for all customers to leave the Gero station. This is a real PLUS in our stays. After we checked in, the staff lead us to our rooms and explained to us on the facilities of the hotel and the staff helped to exchange the size of Yukata after studying our heights. Very observant and thoughtful. There are 3 different hot springs in the hotel and if you have time, you can visit all of them. You can always put on your Yukata and walk inside the hotel region, including the stunning Japanese garden. Just that, most of the services/shops in the hotel are closed on 9pm JST. Remember to plan properly. The room is very spacious with 2 comfortable beds, a small tatami region for you to enjoy your private Japanese tea time. We love the breakfast provided by the hotel as it offered variety of both Japanese and Western breakfast. There is a shuttle bus service (usually once per hour for instance 10am, 11am and 12 noon) to fetch the customers back to Gero station. The staff waved us good bye is another amazing experience provided by Japanese. It is just amazing feeling. Tips: 1. You can purchase the 5Days JR pass and enjoy unlimited ride on some JR trains if you plan to visit Nagoya region and a day trip to Tateyama Alpine Kurobe route. 2. There are not many tourists during our visiting time (24 April 2023) and we love the peaceful feeling of it. Just that, it also comes with not many restaurants are available during the day.

Location is convenient and overall service is good but there are better choices around definitely. Dinner and breakfast spread quite limited. Nice view of the garden but on 2 occasions the elderly Japanese just ignored the reserved tag I placed on the table and took my seats… suggest to place a more visible belongings to reserve it. Western room is adequate 18sqm. Poor noise cancellation as noise echos 20m down the hallways, metal room doors slamming, chairs dragging and phone vibrates in the next room can be heard. Not recommended if you’re a light or early sleeper, especially guests moving in/out along the corridors to take onsen bath. The hotel also hosts tour groups. Witnessed a tour group of Europeans. Koreans speaking on phone at hallways…etc.

Everything is perfect, big room with private bath. Also there is a small kitchen and microwave in room so that we can cook simple food like noodles and heat up the instant food we bought. No need to eat outside. Room is comfort, and the TV is smart TV which we can watch netflix or youtube. We definitely had great time there. Moreover, the location is good, only few steps away from train station and historical street. Highly recommended

It was a stay using the prefectural people. Because I had declared on the phone in advance, the check-in procedure and the application of the prefectural people were very smooth. From autumn onwards, they have thicker over-coat as well. Staff are from PRC, Malaysia. Speaking Mandarin & English is a breeze.

全国旅行支援などでなかなか宿が取れなくて、やっと取れたホテルです　今風の必要最小限の設備ですが、無駄がなくて好感が持てます　特にこれといった問題はないのですが、上質なおもてなしを期待する向きには、おすすめしません　私は名鉄岐阜駅から行ったのですが、距離はまあまあ、飲み屋街を通るので偵察を兼ねてよかったです　JR岐阜駅からくると途中に何もなく周囲のオリエンテーションはつき難いかもしれません　宿泊した時期にやっていた岐阜旅クーポンで飲みに行きました　岐阜旅クーポンのアプリは飲食店が検索できるので便利でした
