Food Guide

Wanning's cuisine is celebrated for its freshness and distinctive local flavors. Highlights include the scrumptious Hele Crab, the spicy and aromatic Hou'an Rice Noodles, the tender Dongshan Goat Meat, and the succulent Gangbei Prawns. Each dish is deeply rooted in the region's culinary traditions, making them favorites among both residents and visitors.

Renowned for its abundant roe and rich meat, this crab features a glistening golden fat, similar to the yolk of salted duck eggs. It ranks among Hainan's four celebrated dishes and captures a delightful flavor. The prime season for harvesting Hele crabs spans from the Qingming Festival to the Dragon Boat Festival, and from the Mid-Autumn Festival to the Winter Solstice. Locally, steaming is the preferred cooking method to maintain its authentic taste.

A renowned breakfast delicacy among the top four famous rice noodles in Hainan Province. The broth is crafted from pork bones and locally sourced white pepper, creating a spicy and aromatic flavor. Served with crispy fried shrimp and handmade rice noodles, it offers a unique and crunchy local taste.

Hailing from Dongshan Ridge in Wanning, this breed is recognized for its distinctive white coat. The meat is prized for its delicate and succulent texture. Celebrated as one of Hainan's four renowned dishes, Dongshan Goat is reared naturally on lush grass without pollutants, enhancing the exquisite flavor of the meat. Locally, it is popular in barbecues and soups and is described as fresh and delicious, making it a favorite among both tourists and residents.

In Wanning, these prawns are typically blanched, a method that has garnered them popularity among food lovers. Their appeal lies in their tender and succulent flesh.

Transportation

Wanning's transportation network is well-connected, primarily through its railway stations and proximity to major airports, facilitating easy access for travelers to and from the city.

Wanning Railway Station, located on the Hainan Eastern Ring high-speed railway, serves as a key junction for intercity travel within Hainan province. To reach the city center from Wanning Railway Station, travelers can utilize local taxi services or buses that connect the station to various parts of the city. These airports offer both international and domestic flights, connecting Wanning to major cities within China and abroad. Travelers can reach Wanning from these airports by hiring a car, taking a taxi, or using airport shuttle services to the city center.

Wanning's Local Transportation focuses primarily on car rentals and sightseeing buses, offering visitors a varied way to explore the city.

Car rentals in Wanning provide a convenient option for travelers looking to explore the city at their own pace. Various car rental companies offer competitive rates, and the concept of value car rentals ensures that visitors can enjoy reliable transportation without compromising on budget. This is considered the best deal when booked through services like Hotwire Hot Rate, which allow significant savings while renting cars.

Additionally, Wanning offers an interesting sightseeing bus service that takes tourists on a scenic route around the Hainan Coastal Scenic Highway to Shanqin Bay in Wanning. This service spans approximately 319.8 kilometers and allows visitors to indulge in the local culture and scenic views, taking about seven hours to complete the round trip. Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Wanning is from November to April.  During these months, the overall weather conditions are conducive for tourism, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 26°C, making it comfortable to explore the various attractions such as the Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden and Riyue Bay.  Additionally, this period avoids the rainy season, ensuring fewer disruptions during travel.

Useful Guide

Wanning observes Mandarin as its official language, with variations influenced by overseas Chinese immigrants, particularly in the Xinglong area.  The presence of multiple languages can be attributed to historical migration and tourism. For travelers, language apps and local phrase guides are useful for overcoming communication barriers.  Learning key expressions like greetings and directional inquiries can significantly enhance interaction with locals.

Alipay: Widely used for transactions across shops and services in China without needing a physical card, and provides convenient access to public transportation and taxis through a scan button.

WeChat: Essential for communication and transactions in China, acting as a digital wallet and social platform, especially useful for tourists due to its functionality with global credit cards.

Didi Chuxing: Comparable to Uber; facilitates ride-hailing either directly or through integration with Alipay, useful with or without a Chinese phone number.

MetroMan: Helps easily navigate the metro systems across major cities in China, providing route planning and cost calculations.

Trip.com: is a popular online travel platform that provides a comprehensive range of services including booking flights.

Mobile data packages for immigrants in China are available through local carriers such as China Mobile and Unicom. China Mobile offers prepaid data SIM cards with unlimited text messages and calls within China, and high-speed connections, sometimes even 5G. Unicom provides SIM cards with data packs that include unlimited music applications, and both do not require long-term contracts.

Public WiFi in China is widely available in places like airports, restaurants, coffee shops, and malls. However, connecting to these networks often requires a Chinese phone number for text verification, which can be a challenge for travelers without a local SIM card.

Wanning experiences a tropical monsoon climate, detailed with hot temperatures and substantial rainfall for most of the year.  This climate includes a pronounced monsoon season from late June to early November with significant rainfall.  Temperatures can drop to as low as 5 to 8 degrees Celsius occasionally.

When visiting Wanning, lightweight clothing suitable for warm weather is advised, along with rain gear for the monsoon season. For the rare colder days, carrying some layers would be beneficial. Given the intense weather patterns, including potential heavy rainfalls, it is prudent to stay informed about local weather updates and prepare for adequate shelter options during your stay.

Extreme weather preparations could include understanding local emergency procedures and ensuring you have necessary supplies and information on hand, especially during the monsoon period.

In Wanning, foreign tourists can opt for various payment methods including mobile payments and traditional card payments.

Mobile payments such as Weixin Pay and Alipay are convenient options, where visitors can either set up Weixin Pay and add funds at China Everbright Bank, or link their overseas bank card to their Weixin Pay or Alipay accounts.

Traditional bank cards like VISA, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express are accepted widely. Additionally, tourists can use the e-CNY with an NFC-equipped smartphone to pay, where funds can be added by overseas bank cards or e-CNY exchange machines.

Live update! Everyone thought I went to Bali, but it was actually Lingshui... — traveler post in Wanning

Live update! Everyone thought I went to Bali, but it was actually Lingshui...

Spent two days in Lingshui and finally understood what "uncrowded and beautiful" means 😭 Fishing boats in Chiling, little monkeys in Huling 🐒 Coastal roads so beautiful you won't want to step on the gas... No tickets required for the whole trip, everything is free!! ✅ Compiled my favorite travel route, just follow it~ Stop 1: Chiling An unspoiled little fishing village with almost no tourists. Colorful fishing boats are parked on the beach. At sunset, the light hits the boats like an oil painting. Any live photo you take looks great 📷 Stop 2: Clearwater Bay Red and white lighthouse with fine white sand; it actually squeaks when you step on it!! The sand is so fine lol~ Uncrowded and photogenic. Walk to the side and you'll find a large lawn and Longtou Ridge. Climb the wooden boardwalk to overlook the entire Clearwater Bay coastline. Locals also come here for beachcombing. Stop 3: Huling Black reefs with deep blue water. Drive to the end and you'll find the viewpoint. The water is super clean, like a glass sea, and very few people know about it! There are also many little monkeys 🐒 you can feed. Stop 4: Shuikou Bridge Feels even more beautiful than the ones in Wanning or Sanya. Standing on the bridge overlooking the coastline, the sand spit and Coconut Island are so pretty!! It's also a great place for paddleboarding. Stop 5: Xiangshui Bay Coastal Road Lingshui's version of the most beautiful road, with several consecutive S-curves, rocky coastlines, and coconut groves. Go on a sunny day; the blue sea is absolutely stunning. Stop 6: Tinglan Coast Yellow thatched huts with the sea and coconut groves; it's so comfortable I didn't want to leave. Or head to Lian'an Sea Turtle Town; walk to the end of the pink sightseeing path and you'll reach the beach. Stop 7: Awen Surfing Right by the roadside in Xiangshui Bay. It's very close to Riyuewan but much quieter!! There's a coconut swing, and the sunset glow here is especially beautiful. About food: 🥥 Qiongxi Restaurant: Authentic Hainan cuisine. The coconut-baked Wenchang chicken is amazing! Their sweet soup is also very authentic. 🍲 Taiqiong Zaopo Vinegar Hot Pot: A Hainan specialty sour soup 🍲, celebrity-approved. It's tangy and appetizing. I was amazed the first time I tried it. Zaopo vinegar hot pot with seafood is incredible. Have some Qingbuliang after the meal to cleanse the palate. 🦞 No. 87 Fishing Boat Seafood Stall: A seafood stall recommended by locals! Seafood is caught and cooked fresh. They also have stir-fries with "wok hei." They offer both light and bold flavors, making it suitable for families with kids. 🦆 Hupo Vanilla Duck: Braised with vanilla herbs, the sauce is flavorful, and the meat is firm but not dry! Their stir-fried ice is also amazing. 🥥 Dedia Coconut Chicken: The coconut chicken hot pot I eat every time I come to Lingshui! Using 3 coconuts as the soup base to cook Wenchang chicken is truly amazing, fresh, tender, and sweet! I order the black truffle chicken oil rice and shaved ice every time; they disappear the moment they hit the table~ ✅ You can fly directly to Haikou, Sanya, or Qionghai. Rent a car 🚗 upon arrival and drive along the coastal road; it's beginner-friendly. ✅ It only takes half an hour to get to Lingshui from Wanning or Sanya. ✅ Lingshui is quiet and off the beaten path. It's not crowded even during summer vacation, making it perfect for taking kids beachcombing.

A Guide to Strolling Through Coconut Groves and Ocean Views — traveler post in Wanning

A Guide to Strolling Through Coconut Groves and Ocean Views

🌊 Le Méridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort | Turning a seaside weekend into a cinematic, slow-paced getaway There are many seaside hotels in Hainan, but for this trip to Shimei Bay, I loved its quietness and openness even more. Le Méridien is right along the coast of Shimei Bay. You can reach the beach shortly after leaving the hotel. The coconut groves, lawns, swimming pools, and sandy beaches are all connected, making it perfect for those who want to escape the crowds and relax for a few days. Highlights: First, the coastline is expansive; the sound of the waves at Shimei Bay is very healing, and it's comfortable to watch the sea in the early morning or take a walk in the evening. Second, the hotel gardens have a vacation vibe; the coconut groves, lawns, pools, and seaside paths are perfect for strolling. Third, it's suitable for both families and couples; whether you're here with friends to take photos or on a family vacation, it won't be dull. After arriving at the hotel, we dropped off our luggage, went straight to the beach for a walk, returned to the pool to rest in the afternoon, and took sunset photos in the evening. The pace was very relaxed. Photo spots: First, the seaside boardwalk or beach entrance—taking a photo of your back as you walk toward the sea is the most cinematic. Second, by the pool—the blue pool and coconut groves in the same frame are perfect for fresh, vacation-style photos. Third, the coconut grove lawn—I recommend wearing white, yellow, or light-colored clothing. Fourth, the hotel's seaside restaurant terrace—perfect for sunset silhouettes in the evening. Fifth, the beach sunset spot—use a low angle to capture the waves, people, and the sky. Tips: The sun in Hainan is very strong, so try to avoid direct sunlight at noon; schedule your photos for the early morning or evening for better photos. It's windy by the sea, which makes skirts and long hair look more natural, but be careful about sand. The hotel area is quite large, so I recommend wearing comfortable flip-flops or sandals. For dining, you can choose a package that includes dinner, as à la carte prices are not low. If you want to photograph the sunrise, check the weather in advance; Shimei Bay is clearer on sunny days. Overall, Le Méridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort is not a bustling destination, but rather a seaside getaway perfect for slowing down. If you want a hotel that is close to the sea, has an open environment, and is great for photos, and you want to dedicate your time to the beach, the pool, and the sunset, this place is well worth it. This place is amazing for a family beach getaway

Finally took Jingbao to Wanning for a family trip and booked the super cute Luka's Wilderness Diary family room 🦊~ The moment we opened the door, my little one's eyes lit up instantly ✨. Soft orange fox bathrobes, exclusive Luka slippers, plus a little tent ⛺ and wooden educational toys—childlike fun is everywhere. We could stay in the room for ages without leaving; it's so kid-friendly. Our slow-paced vacation mode is on. We put on our straw hats to play in the sand and chase the waves on the beach 🌊, and went to the Squirrel Farm to feed the little bunnies 🐰. We had breakfast at the Horizon Restaurant with a view of the ocean right in front of us, and the coconut breeze gently blowing by 🥥. At dusk, the string lights on the beach slowly lit up, and the seaside blue hour 💙 was incredibly gentle. It's so relaxing not having to rush through an itinerary. The room, the pool, and the beach are all so photogenic 📸. Watching my little one running around barefoot on the beach with sparkling eyes—these little seaside moments are the best gift of this trip ✨

Three days and two nights to Baisha — traveler post in Wanning

Three days and two nights to Baisha

Crowded Sanya and Haikou? A 3-hour drive into central Hainan, I found a "free" rainforest village inhabited by the Li people. Fellow travelers, if I were to recommend the most "reverse" destination in Hainan, it would definitely be Baisha. Many people come to Hainan, following the coastline – Sanya's sea, Haikou's streets, Wanning's waves – and the crowds follow the coastline. But if you're willing to turn off the ring expressway onto the central mountain roads and drive further into Hainan's geographical heartland, you'll discover a completely different Hainan – no beaches, no bikinis, no seafood stalls hawking their wares, only the canopy of tropical rainforests, tea gardens growing from meteorite craters, the hands of Li grandmothers weaving Li brocade, and a bowl of fermented fish tea. More importantly, most of Baisha's core experiences are free. Yinggezui Rainforest is free, the meteorite crater tea garden is free, Hongkan Waterfall is free, and the Wulilu Organic Tea Garden is also free to enter. The money you spend is basically on food and accommodation. In short: If the eastern coastline is Hainan's "calling card" to tourists, then Baisha is Hainan's own "inner room"—off the coast, not bustling, but only by stepping inside can you see the island's true essence. 🧐 First, understand: Where exactly is Baisha, and why is it worth a special trip? Baisha Li Autonomous County is located in the west-central part of Hainan Island. Off the coast, it is surrounded by mountains and tropical rainforests, making it one of Hainan's core ecological areas. Its labels aren't beaches, but "Hometown of Chinese Green Tea," "Hometown of Chinese Li Ethnic Culture," and "China's Natural Oxygen Bar." The most unique combination of resources here is unparalleled in Hainan: China's first scientifically confirmed meteorite impact crater is located in Baisha, approximately 3.7 kilometers in diameter and dating back about 700,000 years. The weathered volcanic rock within the crater is rich in selenium and zinc, and the world's only large-scale alpine tea garden built within a meteorite crater grows on this soil. Meanwhile, Baisha is an area where Li ethnic culture is deeply preserved. Li brocade, Li medicine, boat-shaped houses, and fish tea are still alive in daily life, not just exhibits in a shop window. Three days and two nights is just enough time to experience the three layers of "rainforest, tea garden, and Li village". 🗺️ Three-day, two-night itinerary: From rainforest to tea garden, from Li medicine to village Day 1: Yinggezui Rainforest + Tea Garden First Experience After arriving in Baisha in the morning, head directly to the Yinggezui Natural Ecological Experience Area. This is part of the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park and is free to enter, but advance reservations are required through the "One-Click Baisha Tour" WeChat official account. The trails extend deep into the rainforest, where you can see buttress roots, strangler figs, and valley butterflies, providing the best entry point to understanding the ecology of central Hainan. At noon, have lunch at Wulilu Tea Rhyme Shared Farm. The Leigong bamboo shoots are sweet and crisp, and the black tea fan-shaped bone broth is rich and fragrant—a combination recommended by locals. In the afternoon, spend half a day as a "tea farmer" at the Wulilu Organic Tea Garden. Entry is free, and the tea picking and processing experience costs about 50 yuan per person. You'll carry a bamboo basket, picking one bud and two leaves, going through the entire process of withering, rolling, and drying. Finally, enjoy a cup of tea you've made yourself. In the evening, head to the Baisha Original Ecological Tea Garden Town. A red wooden boardwalk winds through the tea rows, and from the viewing platform, you can see the vast tea gardens stretching to the mountainside. Day 2: Li Medicine + Ethnic Culture + Mountain Village Stay In the morning, visit the Li Medicine Experience Area of the Baisha Li Autonomous County Medical Group. Here, you'll find Li medicine displays and health and wellness programs such as fumigation, medicinal baths, and cupping—perfect for relaxation after exploring the rainforest. In the afternoon, visit the Baisha Exhibition Hall and Ethnic Museum. Li brocade, bone hairpins, and traditional utensils are quietly displayed, allowing you to connect what you saw in the rainforest and tea gardens the previous day back into the cultural context. In the evening, head towards Qingsong Township and stay in a guesthouse in the mountains. "Qingyuan Mountain Scenery, Embracing the Countryside" is a name repeatedly mentioned in the official itinerary. Opening the window reveals mountain mists and rubber forests, a completely different experience from staying in a town hotel. Day 3: Hongkan Waterfall or Li Ethnic Village + Return Trip On the last day, you have two options, depending on your physical condition and preferences. For those who want to get moving, go to Hongkan Waterfall. With a total drop of 145 meters, it's known as "Hainan's No. 1 Waterfall." Admission is free, but it requires hiking. The path is through pristine tropical rainforest, and the stone paths are slippery, so non-slip shoes are essential. After hiking, have lunch nearby before returning. For those who don't want to hike, go to Luoshuai Village or the Boat-Shaped House Settlement in Yuanmen Township. Luoshuai Village is a key national rural tourism village. The Li ethnic village is very low-commercialized; the boat-shaped houses and Li brocade are still in daily use. Spend a leisurely morning exploring, then return to the town for a hearty lunch of "Five-Legged Pig" (a local dish), and return home satisfied. 🚗 Transportation: Driving is the most convenient option; for buses, be prepared to "go early and return early." Driving (Highly Recommended): From Haikou, take the Ring Expressway and then the Central Line, approximately 260 kilometers, 3 hours; from Sanya, take the Mountain-Sea Expressway, approximately 180 kilometers, 2 hours and 40 minutes. Baisha has many mountain roads; drive slowly during the rainy season and at night, as some sections have many curves and steep slopes. Public Transportation: There are direct buses from Haikou West Bus Station to Baisha, the journey takes about 3 hours, but the frequency is not high, so be sure to check the departure times one day in advance. There are also express buses from Sanya to Baisha, with tickets around 70 yuan. For those without a car, it is recommended to include Baisha in a chartered car or tour itinerary, as relying solely on buses will result in a lot of time spent waiting for transportation. 💰 Money: Baisha's "low entrance fees" are truly low. The core expenses in Baisha are not entrance fees, but food, accommodation, and transportation. Free or nearly free: Parrot Beak Rainforest (free with reservation), Meteorite Crater Viewpoint (free), Hongkan Waterfall (free), Wulilu Tea Garden Entrance (free), Luoshuai Village (free), Baisha Exhibition Hall and Ethnic Museum (free). Actions requiring payment: Wulilu tea picking and processing experience approximately 50 RMB/person; Li medicine experience program charged per activity; Hongkan Waterfall information shows an 18 RMB entrance fee, while recent travelogues state it's free, please check on-site for confirmation. Baisha isn't a destination driven by "ticket revenue"; it keeps costs very low, allowing you to save money for experiences and meals. 🍜 What to eat: Five-legged pig is the bare minimum, fish tea is a must. Baisha's cuisine is the most "Li ethnic" part of this trip. Five-legged pig is the star attraction. It doesn't actually have five legs; it gets its name from its snout-feeding habit. Free-range in the mountains, it weighs no more than 40 kg, with thick skin, little fat, and firm meat. Blanching the pork and dipping it in garlic soy sauce is the classic way to eat it, allowing you to taste the natural sweetness of the meat. Steamed pork in bamboo tubes adds an extra layer of bamboo aroma. The steamed pork in bamboo tubes at Jintanghuang Restaurant in the county town is one of the most renowned local dishes. Fish tea is a top-grade dish for entertaining guests among the Li people. It's made by fermenting fresh fish and rice, resulting in a very impactful flavor. It's not "stinky," but a fermented freshness that you can only understand by trying it yourself. Only those who dare to try it have truly experienced the Li region. Li-style bamboo rice is made by slowly roasting mountain rice and local pork inside bamboo tubes over charcoal. The rice absorbs the bamboo aroma, becoming soft, sticky, and oily. Thunder bamboo shoots are sweet and crisp, and river shrimp wrapped in pineapple is one of Baisha's top ten local delicacies. Mountain rice wine has a low alcohol content but a strong aftertaste. The best place to eat is the Nancha Riverbank Night Market, the county town's main night market, offering barbecue, snacks, and desserts—the most vibrant and lively place. Liyuan Farmhouse serves Li ethnic farm cuisine and long table banquets, while the stir-fried chicken with pickled leaves at the Big Banyan Tree Restaurant is repeatedly mentioned. 🏠 Where to Stay: Convenient in the county town, flavorful in the mountains For a hassle-free experience and convenient dining: Stay in Yacha Town, Baisha County. There are many chain hotels and local guesthouses to choose from, with standard rooms around 200-400 yuan per night. Convenient for travel in all directions the next day. For a stay amidst mountain mists and rubber forests: Stay at guesthouses like Qingyuan·Shanse and Yongchu Guitian in Qingsong Township. Simple conditions but a quiet environment, with mountain views right outside the window – the right choice for "slowing down." For those seeking more complete facilities, consider the Baisha Grand Courtyard Resort Hotel, surrounded by tea plantations, with a swimming pool and restaurant, and tea gardens right outside the window. Book in advance during peak season and holidays. 💡 Quick Tips to Avoid Pitfalls (These are more important than the route) 1. Yinggezui Rainforest requires reservations. Make reservations in advance through the "One-Click Baisha Tour" WeChat official account. Free entry does not guarantee direct entry. 2. The Wulilu tea-picking experience is 50 RMB (optional, entrance fee is free). You can skip this fee if you don't want to participate. 3. Wear non-slip shoes for Hongkan Waterfall. The stone path is slippery; sandals and canvas shoes are unsuitable, and hiking in requires some physical strength. 4. Fish tea is not for everyone. If it's your first time, try a small sip first, don't take a big gulp right away. 5. Wear long pants and socks when entering the rainforest, and bring insect repellent spray. Leeches and mosquitoes are real, and ankles are most vulnerable. 6. Signal is unstable in the mountains; download offline maps beforehand, don't rely on the real-time network for navigation. 7. Shuttle buses are infrequent; those without a car should plan their return trip in advance, don't rely on hailing a taxi at the last minute. 8. Budget: 600-900 RMB per person for three days and two nights (including accommodation, meals, tea-picking experience, and shared fuel costs). The value of Baisha lies not in its "luxury," but in the fact that you can have a deep experience without spending much. This rainforest village nestled in central Hainan, a Li ethnic minority region, lacks the crowds of the eastern beaches and the long queues of popular hotels. Instead, it offers centuries-old strangler fig trees in the Parrot's Mouth Rainforest, green tea grown in selenium-rich soil from the meteorite crater tea gardens, Li brocade that never stops flowing from the hands of Li grandmothers, and a bowl of fish tea that requires courage to truly understand. Before it's been "discovered," before admission is practically free, and before the mountain mists dissipate—turn in from the coastline and discover the other half of Hainan.

Unlock your ideal island life in Wanning

You either never go to an island, or you go countless times. Every winter, I just want to fly to a southern island and relive a short summer. This year, I chose Wanning. I spent two days by the South China Sea living my ideal island life. I stayed at the Le Méridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort, the same one featured in "If You Are the One 2." I spent almost all my time in Wanning at the hotel. The beach, the pool, the coconut groves, and the Nanyang-style architecture are all so photogenic. The beachside buffet at the Horizon Restaurant had such a great vibe, too. Listening to the live music while watching people dance along, I couldn't help but sway happily myself. I guess this is what an ideal island life is all about. Taking it slow, And following the rhythm of the waves to embrace the moment.

Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden

Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden truly lives up to its reputation as "an encyclopedia of tropical plants." The garden boasts over 3,200 species of tropical plants, including cocoa, coffee, vanilla orchids, and the rare and exotic plants like the upas tree, offering a truly eye-opening experience. The lush greenery is incredibly soothing. Hiring a guide is highly recommended—the garden has a professional team of guides, and I especially recommend Mr. Wu! 👍 He explains the habits and economic value of plants in a vivid and easy-to-understand way, and can even help you discover rare species hidden along the way, instantly maximizing your experience. Wandering around on your own might cause you to miss many of the fun parts. After your visit, enjoy a complimentary cup of locally produced Xinglong coffee—a truly delightful experience.

Desabali

Wanning Bali Village, nestled within the Nanyang-style cultural park in Xinglong, offers a taste of Bali without leaving the country. The iconic Good and Evil Gate, along with bas-relief sculptures and lush coconut groves, make for photogenic spots. The park provides insights into the culture of returned overseas Chinese from Southeast Asia and offers traditional song and dance performances. The park is small, allowing for a leisurely stroll and making it a convenient stop for photos. When visiting Wanning, besides the sea, experiencing a different kind of exotic culture here offers a truly memorable experience.

Shimei Bay

Shimei Bay, Wanning, Hainan. Located on the eastern coast of Liji Town, Wanning City, Hainan Province, within the 18°N golden resort belt, this resort area is developed by China Resources. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride from Shenzhou High-Speed Railway Station, closer than Wanning Station. Boasting approximately 6 kilometers of silver-white sand beach, it comprises two crescent-shaped bays, backed by a globally rare thousand-year-old coastal green forest, and opposite the uninhabited Jiajing Island (a filming location for "If You Are the One 2," a diving paradise). The beach is free to enter; the sand is fine, the water is clean, and it's quiet with few people. There are high-end hotels such as Le Méridien and Westin, Phoenix Jiuli Bookstore (Hainan's most beautiful bookstore), an international yacht club, and a coastal highway. Book clubs and art exhibitions are frequently held, and water sports include snorkeling, sailing, and surfing. The core area attracts many tourists; it's a great place to watch the sunrise or sunset. Public transportation from the city center is available, but taxis and cars are even more convenient.

Riyue Bay

Wenchang Moon Bay, located at the easternmost tip of Hainan Island, is a crescent-shaped pristine bay. It's not overly commercialized, offering a tranquil environment with few crowds, fine white sand, and crystal-clear water that gradually transitions into glass-like clarity. Its main appeal is its unspoiled natural environment for sea views, sunrises, beachcombing, and quiet relaxation – perfect for taking photos without crowds. It's not a bustling bathing beach, has very few amenities, and isn't ideal for purely leisurely water activities or dining. Highlights: 1. Extra-long pure white sand beach (approximately 8-11km), gentle slope, wide shallows at low tide, and high visibility; crystal-clear sea on sunny days; at low tide, you can dig for hermit crabs, small crabs, shells, and go beachcombing (check tide information in advance). 2. Panoramic views from the top of Tongguling Mountain: crescent-shaped coastline, white sand beaches, and coastal forest belts—a breathtaking vista; stunning sunrise (east of Hainan facing the sea), sunset is less spectacular than on the west coast. 3. Off-the-beaten-path photo opportunity: Hobbit-style cabins near the Hejing Moon Bay residential area offer free photo opportunities—a fairytale setting combined with the sea. 4. Very few people, quiet, clean, with minimal litter and almost no commercial noise.

Shenzhou Peninsula

Shenzhou Peninsula, Wanning, Hainan, is surrounded by the sea on three sides and connected to the land on one side. It covers an area of approximately 24 square kilometers and boasts a 12-kilometer coastline, divided into four major bays: Letao Bay, Jinsha Bay, Yuanshi Bay, and Qinning Bay. The inland sea, Laoye Sea, is home to mangrove wetlands with excellent ecology. Location: Dong'ao Town, Wanning City, in the central part of Hainan's eastern coastline. Open all day, free of charge. Jiajing Island

Overall, it's great value for money and quite fun. You can take a banana boat or speedboat from the shore to the snorkeling area at Jiajing Island. I chose the speedboat, which was thrilling; if you don't hold on tight, you feel like you're going to fly out of the water. Finally, you can snorkel for as long as you want. Although the area is a bit small, it's enough for a first-timer, just don't get too close to other islands. This one seems to be private, and the underwater world is teeming with coral and tropical fish. You can bring your own action camera to record everything you see.

📍Right next to GALA B&B, there are four sessions from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The starting point is right next to the B&B, very convenient. 🔹The instructor will first give a briefing on the shore. Groups are usually small, five or six people. Then you can choose your preferred color life jacket and paddleboard. Waterproof phone cases are provided, so you don't need to buy one yourself. 🔸The scenery along the entire route is beautiful, but it can get crowded during peak season, and the river can be congested. The operation is quite simple. The whole process takes about two hours. 🔹The instructor will help take photos📸 for you to enjoy beautiful pictures. #Paddleboarding #PaddleboardingTogether #ExploreTheCityForFree

China Travel Service was much more efficient than I expected; the waves came one after another without any waiting, perfect for practice 🙈 The coach was incredibly nice; he said he was number 6, hahaha He was very patient in teaching, and seeing how quickly we were learning, he guided us step-by-step to advance our skills. My friend and I bought the 1v2 package this time, and we went on several runs almost seamlessly. We've already decided to find a coach to refine our skills next time 🤓 Coach A-Ying was very considerate, even taking care of my sunglasses; kudos to him, kudos to him, hahaha

It doesn't matter if you wear makeup or not. You can't see anything when you wear glasses. If you wear glasses too tight, your eyelashes will become a burden. You must do your hairline! You can ask the front desk lady to help you paint. Overall, it's good, but the air traffic control turned cloudy. The photos didn't turn out as good as expected. The instructor who took me flying took great handheld photos. The three parties can propose to interact in the air. It's better~ Because there is sand around, the driver should be prepared to wash the car

Perfect for family vacations, this two-story building has three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, ensuring privacy and comfort. The facilities are comprehensive. Every room offers a view, and each room has its own dedicated butler who can assist you with anything. The grounds are a large garden with many activities, including yoga, therapy, a fruit bell craft workshop, and an animal farm… all very photogenic. The overall design is stylish and well-thought-out. If you need to get around, renting a car or taking a taxi is easy. I slept very well these past few days; the air was truly wonderful! 👍 I'll definitely come back! 😍
