I absolutely loved my time here. Clean, social, packed with optional activities most of which were free/included in our stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. There is a barber shop and tattoo artist on property as well as surf lessons and rentals. Some of the activities we did were: Salsa Dancing Bar Crawl ($10) Welcome Drink Pool Party Night Market Only thing I was not a fan of was the price- I think it was a little expensive BUT well worth every penny.
Seis Playas Hotel

My husband and I stayed at Seis Playas Hotel for 2 nights mid Jan 2024. This is a nice size boutique hotel with rooms around the pool and restaurant area. Very nicely laid out, beautiful grounds with flowers and greenery. There is a great size pool to cool off, a nice sitting area, chairs around the pool as well. Breakfast was included for us, there is a nice size menu for breakfast options. One recommendation I would offer is adding fruit to all the breakfast options rather than having it with one :) We ate dinner here one night as well which was great! All staff that we had the pleasure of encountering were wonderful, friendly, eager to help. This hotel is only about a 15 minute drive to Tamarindo Beach - we spent 2 days exploring Tamarindo and then escaping the busyness at this quaint hotel afterwards :) Diego, Roberto, David, and the other bartender/server with the tattoos on his legs (forgot his name) You were all fantastic - thank you for the great service! This trip was for my honey moon, the staff was pleasant and helpful. The shuttle service was easy and efficient and the trip to town was less then 5 mins away. The beach club that was attached to the hotel is 6 mins away and prime location in the beach. All the rooms have a beautiful view and would definitely book again even if it is not right in the beach as everything is within walking distance and a taxi ride away (we paid 5$ from center of town to our hotel) the rooms were clean and the ac unit kept the room nice and cool which is refreshing coming in from the humid outdoors. Definitely book again … pura vida
House of Nomad - Adults Only

My wife and I stayed here in February 2023. We were booked in for 7 nights and were really looking forward to our stay, other reviews were good and the photos were great. Upon arrival at the “hotel” a friendly lady showed us to our room and explained some things about the hotel. We were very surprised first to see that there was a lot of construction going on next to, and across the road from the hotel. Second, that the hotel looked unfinished and third that there was a very large (size of at least 2 basketball courts) open air bar and music venue complete with stage 20ft from our room overlooking the site! We expressed our concern at the very large open air music venue 20ft from our room and the lady said there had only been a couple of events there over the last few months and they had finished at 9pm and not to worry they were taking legal action against this venue. We took her at her word and settled down for a nice stay as the room was very nice and we had travelled for 24 hours from the UK to get there. Day 1 of our stay was interrupted at 7am by the ear piercing sound of a circular saw cutting metal. This carried on until 6pm each day we were there, meaning we had to leave the hotel all day to avoid it, no lounging next to the pool for us! Day 2 In addition to the construction noise during the day, we returned to our room to find that the music venue had a huge event on with around 500 children enjoying themselves at a disco. This wound down at 10pm but was incredibly loud even in our room. Day 3 After complaining about the noise the previous evening the girl on the front desk agreed that it had been terrible and said that it probably wouldn’t happen again and that they had called the police on the venue. We decided to move hotels but there was nothing available until the following afternoon. That night the music venue held a dance party until 2am. Day 4 we moved hotels to the Tamarindo Bay boutique hotel which was exceptional. Please be aware that the management team refused to refund us for the days we had stayed (but did not charge us for the cancelled days how nice of them….) stating that the noise was not their issue and blaming everyone else. At the point of booking there is no mention of the construction or music venue so we feel they have been very dishonest especially as they are taking legal action against the music venue. We would not have booked if we had any idea of the situation. Avoid at all costs.
Ten North Tamarindo Beach Hotel

I took a last-minute trip with a friend, and we stayed in the smallest & most affordable room. We highly recommend Ten North! I don't know which was better: the breakfast (Laura is an excellent cook), price, location or pool! I brought two floats from home, but they supplied two noodles. The pool was refreshing and clean. The trees provided great shade and I spent hours reading in the pool or on our patio. On Saturday I even floated listening to the music from the delightful Farmer's Market (on the other side of the hotel). Our room was wonderfully air-conditioned and the bed was comfy. The noise machine was a nice touch; noise from Friday & Saturday nightlife didn't bother us. There were plenty of drawers to unpack and we utilized the mini fridge. Pool and bathroom towels were switched out daily. Breakfasts were A++ and different daily. They kept us happy & full enough that we ate lightly for lunch. Laura was ready to serve up breakfast between 7-9 daily and we looked forward to it! The location of Ten North is great- walkable to everything. The construction, though, was not great, since you had to really watch where you stepped and avoid hazards- but, I noticed that many roads nearby had issues. Lastly, the little grocery store is steps away and on the 5th floor above it was an excellent pizza place on the roof with the best sunset views- make sure to go before the sunset, order a drink & get a pizza! All in all, I loved this hotel and will be back!
Hotel Pasatiempo

I've stayed at this hotel twice now- in 2023 and 2024. Each trip 16 nighs. Couldn't speak more highly of this hotel and I'm not a review guy- unless I'm pissed off!. The staff bend over backward to be accommodating, from booking online help to arranging shuttles from the airport to providing local knowledge. I don't speak terrific Spanish but their English is spot on. GREAT on site restaurant! I highly recommend you get the breakfast included. Hotel is close to everything but a few minutes to the beach and just off the main drag- so it doesn't feel like it is too busy. Plus, its like an oasis on site! Pics don't do it justice. Planty of shade by the pool- which is key for me from about 10 til 4 when the sun is smoking. Grocery store across the street, Saturday Farmer's Market around the corner, Night Market a block up the street- everything is close. Rooms are clean and bright, A/C works great, plus it has TONS of character. Their nachos are to die for! Can't wait to come back next year!
