We recently stayed at the Majestic Barcelona. It was everything that one would expect of a five star hotel. The location is great - walking distance from many of the city's best attractions and restaurants. It also has a great rooftop bar that overlooks the city. The fine dining restaurant at the hotel is also very good, and we had an excellent dinner there. We did, however, have a problem with one aspect of the hotel. They advertise tours which are described in great detail on the hotel website. The problem is that as of our visit the website had not been updated post-Covid and the description of the very expensive tour that we booked was inaccurate and we did not what was advertised. After a lot of arguing on our part, and after initial push back by the hotel's management, the finally made things right. All's well that ends well, but it did put a tinge on an otherwise wonderful stay.

Location is great in Gothic Quarter, and staff are very nice. But the rooms are very very small! And peculiarly designed. Even small for one person. Toilet separate area of room from sink basin and shower. No where to sit except on bed. Very clean, good TV but uncomfortable room. Breakfast excellent, restaurant very good for dinner, rooftop bar small but attractive with good tapas. Hotel arranges transport as most taxis couldn’t find the hotel on a very narrow windy street!

My daughter is currently studying abroad, and for her spring break we had planned on meeting in Barcelona, where neither of us had visited before. Freezing temperatures and snow in the United States unfortunately tampered with our plans, and I was then detained and unable to join her. At first I was nervous, but the Hotel Arts took amazing care of my daughter as she experienced her first solo vacation - and loved every moment. From all she has told me, it sounds like the Hotel Arts made a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience in every way. Special shout out to the incredible bar staff in the lobby bar who gave her an amazing list of restaurants, bars, and site recommendations. Bartenders Alex, Nicola and Diego, whose service went above and beyond, by her report, were welcoming, gracious, and terrific hosts. My daughter also tells me the woman who helped her with check in and check out was wonderfully friendly and helped her arrange a taxi for her departure and also gave some local tips. Her name, however, seemed Catalan and my daughter cannot remember how to spell it. On check-in my daughter was given both a spa and drink voucher, both of which were very much appreciated, and put to good use. In the room as well, was a lovely gift of fresh clementines, which I am told tasted wonderful. The location of the Hotel Arts is also perfect, sitting on the beach and close to attractions and public transportation. The amenities were also wonderful, and the gym was clean, spacious, and had lovely equipment. The property itself is gorgeous, with astounding views of the Mediterranean. This hotel truly held up to Ritz Carlton and 5 star standard, and every part of her experience far exceeded expectations. She couldn’t have been in safer hands and I am so glad she has such a good experience at the Hotel Art. She recommends it so highly that we are now changing our summer vacation plans from France to Barcelona. we look very much to returning to this amazing property!

I really like this hotel. It's by the sea. It's very comfortable to eat breakfast and look at the sea view. The only downside is that the deposit is a bit chaotic. Fortunately, I figured it out at the end of the check-out. We know what to expect with a HI Express, but this was a really poor experience. We booked months ago requesting double rooms, but didn’t get them despite my wife’s diamond IHG status. The positives were the Viena restaurant next door was ideal for fairly late arrivals & the walk in the local park was nice. The negatives are the listless staff, in particular Melena, who didn’t tell me the hotel added €15 if you book taxis through them instead of Uber direct. The WiFi was dreadful, the AC was poor & they let cards switch off at 11am despite having a late checkout to 2pm. In contrast, my review for our stay in the centre of Barcelona last week was 5 star and staff could not have been more helpful. Overall, a disappointing stay.

We had the good fortune to land at this hotel after an American Airlines flight was returned to Barcelona midair. We were shuttled to different places in the airport and waited almost 7 hours for information from AA. We were then given no paper voucher but sent to this hotel and told to give our names. This was an exercise in trust and we had no idea how it would turn out when we arrived at the hotel. Hotel staff were amazing, and helped us every step of the way. Apparently American Airlines was communicating in some fashion with the hotel even though the airlines was not communicating with us. There was a plane load of people at the hotel and the hotel staff handled this unexpected bevy of people with professionalism and good humor. The property itself was fantastic, three restaurants, rooftop pool and bar and fantastic food. We were so grateful to have landed at this hotel in what was otherwise very stressful situation. If you are looking for a hotel with exemplary staff close to the beach, with fantastic amenities, this is the hotel for you

Reception: Lots of staff appearing to be busy doing things other than attending to waiting customers. Room / facilities: Room number 423 is on the 4 floor, is clean and faces the rear of the building. The room is modern and very spacious for an Ibis hotel. Self control air conditioning with a window that opens fully. The room has minimal features, but does include a double bed with flimsy lumpy pillows (no additional pillows provided), 2x bath towels and floor mat, small hanging unit with shelves and mirror, table and chair. Flat screen tv. There is no fridge, no safe, no tea or coffee facilities. Parking: Free parking on premises accommodates approx 10 cars at the front of the hotel, or €5 paid parking in a secure area at the rear of the property accommodates approx 30 cars. There is a open air public car park next door to the hotel, with walk way access, which appears to be free, and an accommodate a large number of vehicles. Wifi: Complementary and good speed. Room Number and guest name is requires for validation. Breakfast: Available for additional cost, but not utilised on this stay. Conclusion: Good hotel for an airpot hotel. Its approx 9km from the airport and an easy drive for an overnight stay. Letdowns: Staff are not customer focused. Location / Nearby: McDonalds, Aldi supermarket (2 minute walk), petrol station (1 minute drive), town of Viladecans (5 min walk), shopping mall (20 min walk) Getting to hotel: Best use GPS, as it is not walkable from the airport

A truly wonderful experience. Located very close to the Magic Fountain and Plaza de España, the hotel is a short walk to the bus and metro stations. From the airport it took just 30 minutes by bus for just €5.70. The rooms are a very good size and spotlessly clean. The spa is excellent and the gym has limited but good equipment. Excellent breakfast. The best part is the rooftop pool and bar on the 7th floor; though be careful, if you go up to the 7th floor you might never leave the hotel, and that would be a shame in this amazing city.

This hotel appears of high quality and well furnished. The reception was excellent and staff in the hotel were helpful and pleasant despite slight language understanding issues between us. The gardens at the hotel are excellent with access to extensive beach in the area. The hotel swimming pool looked very good but I was unable to use it due to the weather at time of visit. The room showed a few signs of use, but was clean and very comfortable. The restaurant menu seemed quite limited, especially as I am vegetarian, but the food I ate was very good and well presented. Overall I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Unfortunately, a review like this is necessary so you don’t run into the same issues we ran into. The positives are the room and hotel are both clean and modern. Generally, that would be plenty reason to recommend the hotel. Continue reading … If you stay here do NOT book the mini room. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel room in my life. I’ve stayed in NYC where rooms are known to be small, but this place took it to the next level. The bed was tiny and shoved up against a wall. If you’re staying with your partner, one of you will need to climb over the other. If you’ve got any kind of luggage, that’ll take the remaining floor space, literally. We found it almost impossible to open our luggage. Due to the rooms triangle shape everything about the room is simply awkward. You could barely turn around in the shower without hitting a wall. Walking into the bathroom alone was a challenge and I’m not a very large person at all. If you’re a larger person or needing room for a wheelchair or walker, this room isn’t for you. If you’re traveling as a couple, this room isn’t for you. This was booked through a travel agent so we didn’t know this was the room that was booked. I wish I had, but truth is even the pictures didn’t make this room look as uncomfortable as it was in real life. This isn’t where our discomfort ended. The ventilation system was pumping outdoor odor into the room. Add the fact the room is small, you can see how this quickly became an issue. I’m also not sure if they have some sort of toilet paper shortage, but we had to ask for TP twice. They never give you more than one and didn’t add any after tidying up the room even though it was obvious we’d need some with 2 nights left in our stay. Simply, we never looked forward to returning to our room. We never got a decent nights rest. This room shouldn’t be an option for anyone that’s not traveling alone. If you stay in one of the larger rooms you may have a different experience, but this was our experience and it was our only negative experience in Barcelona. The breakfast is ok. It’s convenient, but you can find better for about the same price. Location was fine. It didn’t seem unsafe to us. It’s right outside some of the major sites so expect to walk or take a cab.

Clean and efficient use of space as the room was not a traditional square/rectangle and the single was well placed to give a bit more floor space. The bathroom was nice, but a bit lacking in privacy due to the sliding door that doesn't lock, but it was at least somewhat spacious, especially the shower. I also liked the location just a couple of blocks from Sagrada Familia. Beware - it is a bit hard to find the office as it is diagonally across the street and NOT obvious from the street markings!

When we 1st arrived the drop off point was great just outside of the hotel it is approx an hour and 10 minutes on the coach. My room had two single beds pushed together so you could get down the sides to get in. The bed had plastic cover under the sheet it drove me nuts as it needed straightening out everytime you turned over. TV up above wardrobe on a bracket very small and only had 1 English channel BBC news, watched it whilst getting ready for dinner. I had a balcony, it faced the balconies opposite but I did get sunshine in the afternoon early evening which was lovely. You could not use the pool area before 10 a.m and as this is the hotels only outside space it was frustrating. The building has 4 or 5 floors so a lot of guests, so to find there is only room for 25 sun beds 12 chairs and 3 small tables in the pool area was never going to please most of their guests, Very little space between them and edge of pool . I had my own pool towel although they show photo of towels by the pool. The activity area is a hall with seating, meant to be used for activities but basically used as a walk through from reception to the bar. The bar had a window opening onto the pool area this was the All inclusive ”Snack bar,” i was offered sandwiches in a cardboard box I asked if we had pizza they said yes 8 euro so not much of a snack bar. The ”Cafe” was a coffee machine on a table in the hall. Someone mentioned the beach is opposite the hotel giving the impression you can see it, it is only a few minutes away but to get to the beach you need to cross the road under the train subway and then go down between the buildings to arrive at a lovely sandy beach, hiring 2 chairs and an umbrella is 21 euros. Food was very much the same every day with additional bit of chicken or fish added but there is something for everyone as there are loads of restaurants near by. Restaurant open anything from 5 to 15 minutes late every day, so recommend go down a few minutes late so you are not queued on the stairway going down to the restaurant and across the hall each meal time. As i was leaving the hotel very early I asked for a wake up call at 5 a.m they set the call for 4 a.m, not impressed. As I was inclusive they were going to leave me a breakfast bag but that didn't happen either. Staff were nice and polite.

I really enjoyed my stay here and it really is in a great location and very close to the beach. The staff on reception were friendly and the room was spotlessly clean. Two litres of water in the fridge was a nice touch as was the little bag that contained washing up liquid and sponge. We had the room that had two bedrooms. The first bedroom is a decent size with large wardrobes containing a safe. The second had no windows and was very small with a single bed with a pull out second bed underneath. With the second bed pulled out there was no additional space in there. All rooms had an AC units so none were stuffy. Kitchen had all plates and cutlery if you wanted to stay in and cook (we didn’t) and the bathroom was spacious but lacked hooks to hang up your bathtowel after use. The pools were cold, it was May, and there are only limited sunbeds. Would definitely stay again

Really great central location. Hotel was spot on for what we needed. Pretty basic but had everything for a 3 night stay. Maids came everyday and cleaned our room. Buffet breakfast was fine to fill yourself up on. Orange juice freshly squeezed perfect. The gentleman and lady on reception very helpful. Room had a nice balcony looking out over some other buildings but was very quiet. The people started building work but was very quiet up until about 9am, you don't really need to be up any later than that. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need a bed in a tidy clean hotel for a few nights. Super

The location was excellent and I felt very safe when out for a run in the early morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the hotel breakfast and it was perfectly acceptable -- nothing spectacular but no problems either. The shower in particular was a problem in that it drained poorly, was very slippery when wet (see: drained poorly), and caused a lot of flooding on the floor of the main bathroom, which increased the slippery danger. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated the staff leaving an extra pillow in the armoire if we wanted it.

It did not have the feel like a 4 star hotel. We had an inside room. The window looked out onto an atrium with very little daylight and opposite this was a corridor that people walked down. The windows are frosted glass, so there is no view. It makes the room feel very dark and the colour of the decoration and furnishings did not help. The bathroom was functional but did not contain any 4* toiletries but were acceptable. Breakfast was well laid out but allowed the cooked items to go cold very quickly the service was also not 4*. The building itself is very nice and the location is excellent and a great deal of improvement could be achieved without spending too much money to bring it to a 4* hotel. There is no bar to have a drink at and no meals other than room service. Bed was a bit uncomfortable my liking and on the small side for that class of hotel. Just a pity that the hotel group have not invested sufficient funds to make it 4* given the quality of the building and its location.

Excellent location, a couple of minutes away from the cruise port. Around the corner are many restaurants and bars, a laundromat, bakeries and so much more. Walking distance from the beach, la Rambla, port Vell, and plaça Reial. The Hop on Hop off tour buses are just down the street. We stayed there in August for 4 nights, got on our cruise and came back to spend our last night before heading back home to Canada. It was clean, the staff was friendly and we felt very secure. There is a safe in every room. We will definitely stay there again when we go back. It’s comfortable, affordable and perfectly located.

The location of this hotel is impeccable, but the room equipment is a bit old. When I checked in, I found that the floor-to-ceiling windows of the room could not be closed. The water leaking under the bathroom basin immediately notified the incident with the front desk. It took more than 5 hours to come to the person. After repairing, I barely repaired it. After two days, the bathroom leaked. When I left, there was no one at the front desk. I waited for about half an hour after the bell, and some people slowly came out from it. Feel the price of this hotel and this low quality service is really not right. In addition to the location is good, the other is very general. The price is not high.

Booked 1 night due to it’s proximity to our cruise ship, as it is literally about 50m to the South Terminal N quay. Detractors saying it was not 5 star anymore are rather over critical in my view. We stayed Sept. 25, and all I can say is that check in was easy, our request for a high floor was met. The room was extremely spacious, clean, and well appointed, with sofa and 2 comfortable chairs. All rooms appear to have a balcony. We arrived late so had no dinner, but the breakfast and service on the terrace was excellent. The array of buffet choice was as good as it gets. The roof terrace is sensational with views of the port, Barcelona over to the Gaudi's Sagradia Familia. It is true that this has dated a little, but it's still a very good hotel, and we would gladly stay here again without a cruise on our itinerary. It is just 10 mins walk to La Ramblas. A minor point, but in the bathroom the tiling on corners doesn't have the usual edging strip; it actually has recessed polished tile edges (see pic), which I have never seen before, so whoever set the spec and budget for it's build was not thrifty. Marble abounds. Staff readily gave smiles, and were helpful, so I take it as I find it One final point regarding room choice 1 night ok for internal atrium view room, any longer ask for an outside room. Most public areas are well maintained but the pool area is in serious need of upgrade as well as maintenance it simply does not justify the star rating as well as the price. Rooms are in serious need of a visit by the management as they are worn down. On a positive note the view is great and location is most likely the best in Barcelona. La seule chose que la personne au téléphone a su nous dire a été que nous n'avions plus qu'à chercher pour le lendemain un autre hôtel !! Mais bien sur, la veille, pour la période la plus fréquentée de l'année, on nous dit dans le plus grand des calmes d'aller voir ailleurs alors que ça fait des mois qu'on a reversé ! Soit disant le motif est qu'il fallait renseigner les numéros de la carte or ceci avait déjà été fait lors de la réservation, puis le paiement était de toute façon a faire à l'arrivée à l’hôtel, donc leur excuse ne tient pas la route.

The man who checked us in, was very friendly and spoke adequate English. The room (room 1) was basic and had two beds that were fine. The shower was good, but they only provided small packages of gel and shampoo instead of a dispenser. I stayed for two nights and the room wasn’t”t serviced after the first night, but I had enough toilet paper and towels for the second night. Coffee and tea freely available and toasties for breakfast could be bought. So, a very basic hostal that would have been fine for two nights. But unfortunately the inside noise was terrible. I had asked for a quiet room, but until deep into the night, I heard doors slamming and people talking and laughing. For younger people who want to party all night, this place is fine. For older people, who want some sleep as well, look elsewhere.

In case of closing, the key provision system is well designed and easy to use. We found a very clean apartment upon our arrival. The biggest concern is the soundproofing, the stairwell is noisy (especially when the residents do not respect anything). The pinnacle was reached on our last night (January 01 to 02, 2022), when the apartment above decided to be a nightclub. All night, many people prevented us from sleeping, knocking the ground, moving the furniture... The emergency number at the reception never answered in the middle of the night. The next day, we informed the reception of our annoyance (or even more...), without having in return, neither compassion nor compensation accordingly. So the tranquility of your stay will depend on your neighbours...

We stayed overnight before boarding a cruise ship from the port. They operate a free shuttle from the airport, and that worked very well. The hotel itself is located in the middle of a shopping centre (that is closed on Sundays). Check in was very simple and the staff welcoming. I was curious that they didn't ask for a credit card for any extra's, but it turned out that there was no mini bar in the room and the bar and restaurant had to be paid for in real time. The room was clean, but basic. No English speaking channels on the TV, so if you don't use the spa and the shops are shut, there is not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. No tea or coffee making facilities in room and no complimentary water bottle, which would have been very welcome. Restaurant has a limited menu for dinner but a very comprehensive breakfast buffet. All the food was fresh and cooked well, but on a Saturday night there were very few dinners, so don't worry about booking. I was told they operated a shuttle to the port and I booked it upon arrival. They did advise me that it was not free. As it turned out, they ordered a Taxi for me, they charged me €30 which I had to pay before getting into the taxi. The taxi ride took less than 10 minutes and I have a feeling that if I had of called a taxi without asking the hotel, it would have been significantly cheaper. I think that the €30 is split between the hotel and the driver, could be wrong. Would I stay there again - yes, but for one night only.

The hotel was recommended to me by local bussiness partners. It is close to the airport and it is secluded and quiet. The bed and the pillows in the room were comfortable. The bathroom was OK. The staff is friendly enough. The premises could be promising but the building is old and badly in need of renovation. In the corridors the flooring echoes every sound and the room doors are old and do not work properly. The hotel seems seriously understaffed. The outdoor spaces and the pool do not seem clean enough to sit or dive in. Breakfast was average, not freshly made. It was served on a buffet outdoors and most of the food platters were uncovered at the mercy of bugs, birds, dust and human contamination. There is a bar near the reception but I've never found it open. If you don't have a car or you have mobility issues, avoid it unless you like climbing a steep hill to reach it. Too expensive for its category.

Let me tell you something that just happened. Tonight we stayed in a Barcelona airport hotel, and three other group members also stayed in this hotel. This hotel looks good, but there was a white man at around 23:30 just now. The man swiped his card to enter our room. We were all asleep at the time. I heard the movement in a daze. When I got up, I saw a man had opened all the doors. The man saw me and said that I had entered the wrong room and left immediately. The key card on the wall used to get electricity was taken away! We called the front desk right away and the front desk replied that we hadn't locked the door properly so the men could get in. But in fact I checked the door before going to sleep and locked it from the inside, so there is absolutely no way the door was unlocked! Call the front desk again and refuse to answer! We ran downstairs to find the front desk. The front desk said that the man had given them all the key cards, but when asked how many cards he had given, the other party refused to answer directly! This is the first time I have encountered such a thing, to remind everyone! Personal safety first when going out!

Its approx 9km from the airport and an easy drive for an overnight stay. Letdowns: Staff are not customer focused. Location / Nearby: McDonalds, Aldi supermarket (2 minute walk), petrol station (1 minute drive), town of Viladecans (5 min walk), shopping mall (20 min walk) Getting to hotel: Best use GPS, as it is not walkable from the airport

Breakfast hours to suit people prior to flights. A taxi from El Prat airport €25 for 4 people, a 15 minute drive partly through open countryside. . Also the option of Public transport L99 bus from El Prat T1 (can use the Barcolona T-Casual Card on the bus.) Bus L86 goes from Ibis stop into Placa d’ Espanya in Barcelona. I’ll be wary to go by ratings again for accommodations I find on this website and other popular travel websites. 1) When we arrived there was no one available to let us in. The reception is open only from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Check in is at 3:00, no one was even available to leave luggage. It's extremely inconvenient. We wasted a lot of time the day of check-in. We sent multiple WhatsApp messages & could see that they had been received, but there were no responses even though I requested responses. A phone call ended in a hang up on their end. There was a sign on the door stating the hotel would be closed until after the day we had a reservation to check in. This was disconcerting (see photo). Someone should man the desk during normal business hours, 9-5. In speaking with other guests & even the hotel staff at another nearby accommodation, this is a frequent event. Other travelers there during our stay had a similar experience --- wasting a lot of time trying to check in or drop-off bags. 2) Temp control didn’t cool the room. The thermostats in the room don’t control the temperature in the rooms. We had left one of our keys, which work the outlets, plugged in the entire day. The room was still hot when we returned early evening. The owner suggested we leave the key in the outlet totally disregarding my comment that we had done exactly that — left one of the keys in the outlet all day. When we returned at midnight, the room was still hot & this was May. I cannot even imagine the inferno the room will be in the summer months. 3) There's minimal soundproofing. You can hear guests from other rooms and in the hallway.

A very pleasant stay, we arrived late at night and the woman on reception was polite and spoke great English. Our room was basic but clean and tidy and that's all we wanted and expected. The hotel was fairly quiet, I have read a few reviews about loud music but we had a room at the front of the hotel only 1 floor up and I can honestly say we heard nothing and got 3 good nights sleep. The hotel is situated quite far away from the main part of Barcelona where many of the tourist locations are but its about a 5 minute walk to the nearest tube station and it's all easy enough to navigate so you are there in no time at all. Every night we stayed we retired back to the hotel about 7 or 8pm we sat in the bar area until about 11pm and had a few relaxing drinks. The two people on the bar a young girl and an older gentleman where absolutely fantastic and I cannot thank them enough for making us feel welcome, they bent over backwards to make us feel at home and served us drinks to our table as well as supplying us with some complimentary nuts which never go a miss after a few beers. All in all it was perfect for our long weekend break. Thank you.

We recently stayed at the Majestic Barcelona. It was everything that one would expect of a five star hotel. The location is great - walking distance from many of the city's best attractions and restaurants. It also has a great rooftop bar that overlooks the city. The fine dining restaurant at the hotel is also very good, and we had an excellent dinner there. We did, however, have a problem with one aspect of the hotel. They advertise tours which are described in great detail on the hotel website. The problem is that as of our visit the website had not been updated post-Covid and the description of the very expensive tour that we booked was inaccurate and we did not what was advertised. After a lot of arguing on our part, and after initial push back by the hotel's management, the finally made things right. All's well that ends well, but it did put a tinge on an otherwise wonderful stay.

Great location just a few steps away from La Rablas and Liceu metro station which can connect you to almost anywhere you need to go in Barcelona. Downside to this is that it can be quite loud during the night which could be an issue with light sleepers. All the receptionists we spoke to were very friendly and spoke good English. Standard business trip in La Garriga with preferable hotel in this location. Room was not quite new , but it it s acceptable for business trip. If somebody would like to stay here for holiday, is better to choose probably more comfortable room. I got room for one person, for 2 nights. Wifi without issue in main build. Breakfast is very comfortable and you can take what you want - they have very good option. Next time, I will take this hotel in this location. I dont know exactly,how much cost swimming pool and spa, so I can not comment their offer.
