Everything was as advertised or better, and I was happy with the price. The desk was staffed for somewhat longer than I'd initially expected, which was a relief. I arrived early, and while my room wasn't ready they quickly switched me another room, which was great. Reception and other staff were friendly; I was very happy with the room only being serviced on request. Air conditioning worked well; beds were fine; shower dripped a little (but not bothersome). Bathroom was basic but functional. I was attending an event at the convention centre, which was a stiff 20min walk away; I'm probably not the target audience, but it worked for me. I'd certainly stay again at the price.

Pleasant motel with nice extra touches. Comfortable beds with cotton sheets and throws if needed. Efficient aircon and plenty of space in the apartment. Kitchenette was very useful and there are excellent takeaways nearby. I expect the parking can be tight, but we didn’t have a car so not an issue for us. We used the pool, which was a reasonable size, very clean and comfortable temperature. Very clean apartment, kitchenette had been refurbished more recently than the bathroom which was looking a little tired, but plenty of hot water and pressure was good. Wifi was excellent and staff efficient and helpful. We arrived early from the airport and they stored our bags until check in time. We found it good value for money.

We were a family with kids 3 and 7. We booked a triple room but got given a quad which was nice. It was a heat wave, but the aircon was super cold. The room and common areas were clean and inviting. The pool was a great escape from the heat. It was easy to walk into town and the Cairns Central Mall was across the road. I need to come again by myself and will be booking here again.

Service: good Hygiene: OK. I don’t know if it’s because there’s some candy left on the table. There are a lot of ants crawling everywhere. Environment: The scenery is not as beautiful as expected Facilities: The swimming pool is not deep enough to swim in, but it is quite clean.

We stayed at the Edge Hill Tavern the night before our flight back home because it is not far from the airport. We arrived 2 hours early and the staff wasn’t bothered at all. They immediately checked us into the room. There were some struggles with the key system and they instantly gave us free drinks at the bar which was very very nice and courteous. As our flight left in the evening we asked for a late check out which was no problem at all! We were so impressed and exited about the staff as they were really friendly. The rooms are just perfect. You’ve got a good working AC a big TV with Netflix the bed is unbelievably comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. We were really happy during our stay as we were treated in such a good way! We would really recommend the hotel!

A great hotel. Staff were all good but Cheri was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast very good. No complaints at all. We thought the place was exceptional value for money. It would have been nice to have stayed longer but onward flights were booked

The hotel has rich amusement facilities, which is especially suitable for taking children to play. You can go to the pool during the day. In the evening, you can play trampolines and slides. You can also watch movies after dark. It is really suitable for children. My daughter did n’t live enough.

When I got there the room smelt of mould. I was told that was the smell of the cleaning products, but I am not stupid so I insisted they change the room. They did, but it was infested with ants. They were in the sink area, on the counter, in the bathroom, and around the toilet bowl. They even got into the wardrobe. I spoke to reception about it and all I got was a ”there is nothing we can do for you”. They sent someone after 2 days (as I had to wait since it was Sunday as if I hadn't paid for the weekend!) and he also said there was nothing he could do. I complained to booking.com and they told them they had upgraded me - BIG FAT LIE. Very quick to send me messages to leave reviews (here you have it!) but not to resolve issues. There was also an electrical fault that destroyed two expensive universal adapters. The hotel did nothing to compensate for this. Again ”there is nothing we can do for you” is what I got. I lost a day's pay as I could not work without a power supply, had to purchase new adapters the following day, and all they could say is ”there is nothing we can do for you”. What kind of hotel doesn't have adapters? The AC unit was exposed, the door was tricky to lock/unlock (the receptionist had to show me how to lock the door), and there is no one available at night in case something goes wrong. Lastly, the listing says daily cleaning but this is not true. You are only allowed to ask for it once in the middle of your stay and you need to request this. I did and she barely cleaned anything, just a quick vacuum and change of sheets and some towels (not all). My sincere advice as a world traveller: STAY AWAY FROM HOTEL TROPIQ. Their customer service is ZERO. Quick to take credit card details but then refuse to take responsibility for anything that goes wrong within the service. You just have to accept a ”there is nothing we can do for you”. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy!

The only hotel on the island with a beautiful island view is worth a visit! The hotel room is very general, there is nothing to comment, but there is no signal that all kinds of mobile roaming equipment have no signal, the lobby has a signal but charges and it is not worthwhile! Then a compatriot told me that there is a signal on the beach that mobile wifi can make. In particular, there are not many Asians in the entire island.
