"From the minute we arrived we were welcomed. We were able to leave our bags and were given some lunch recommendations. The rooms were cleaned everyday, fresh towels and filtered water. We had an adjorning room for our daughter. We sampled the free afternoon tea once or twice, a few morsels to enjoy near the pool. The free icy poles were only red bean, which I did try. Muntri Grove was a lovely haven, although the doof doof music went off every night. We were warned about it and offered ear plugs. Would definetly stay there again."

Amazing
GGuest UserOverall, it felt like staying in a very cozy old house. The room was a bit small, but we could still lay out two large suitcases flat. The hot water was a little tricky to control, but acceptable. The common areas had a lot of unique and well-maintained furniture and settings. When the sun was out, the light on the yellow exterior walls looked beautiful. During the day, we even saw tourists specifically coming into the courtyard to take photos. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was refined, and I even got to try a mini Nasi Lemak. The location was very convenient for city walks around Penang. There was some street noise at night, but it usually died down after 10 PM. They even gave us a lovely set of postcards when we checked out.
GGuest UserThe direct pool access room was an amazing experience! The room was clean, comfortable, and the environment was quiet and serene. Having direct access to the pool was convenient and offered good privacy, with the sarongs adding a unique touch. In the evenings, with the lotus flowers asleep on the water and the gentle croaking of frogs, the night was peaceful and tranquil ā a truly relaxed atmosphere.
Special thanks to the gentleman in the lobby responsible for luggage. His service was warm and thoughtful, handling and storing our bags with great care. All the staff were friendly and provided excellent service, making our stay easy and enjoyable. It's a perfect place for a vacation and highly recommended!
MM56686****Came to Penang and stayed in three hotels. Room 7 is the best one, the most stylish and the quietest one. Its own restaurant is also Michelin. I am very grateful to Ctrip's customer service for helping me book Michelin and delaying the time to 13:00.
Iin huiI like the location. It's walking distance to UNESCO Georgetown. And there is a hawker center type food outlet just opposite with singers belting out Thai, mandarin and Cantonese numbers. Though it ends at 12 midnight.
It's an old mansion converted into a boutique hotel. Not able to drop off at hotel, as gate is not opened.
Reception is facing main door. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I stayed on the ground floor which is very convenient.
The room is comfortable, though being an old mansion, the light switches are not the most convenient. There is no water kettle in room, hence a lounge that is opened 24 hours where there are hot water, drinks and snacks..
The sound insulation is not very good, can hear singing and noise from outdoor pool.
Lucky not staying on 2nd floor as stairs is very narrow and tight.
There is an outdoor pool which I did not manage to view.
AAilvxingdetuerduoThe architecture and rooms have a distinct Nyonya style, somewhat reminiscent of boutique hotels like Huajian Tang in China. However, the air conditioning was a bit difficult to control, and there's a noticeable old wooden smell, which could be quite off-putting for those sensitive to such things. Steer clear of the north-facing rooms on the second floor; they are located very close to a mosque. The call to prayer, four times a day, is incredibly loud. The 5 AM prayer was particularly disruptive, sounding as if it was right next to my ear. Additionally, there's a rather foul-smelling drainage ditch right at the courtyard entrance, but this seems to be more of a general old town infrastructure problem rather than the property itself. Despite these drawbacks, the place is incredibly photogenic and makes for some beautiful pictures. If you're not bothered by the aforementioned issues, it's otherwise a very charming stay, perfect for capturing great photos š¤³š».
