We had to wait 45 minutes before we could get into our hotel room. Room was good, spacious and clean. Unfortunately, there are a lot of cuts in single-ply toilet paper The breakfast was not that good; the rolls were not sufficiently baked so they were not edible. Other bread was delivered too late to the breakfast table. Furthermore, it was very busy during breakfast; there was a long line to get to breakfast and far too few places for all guests. We also missed a waste bin on the tables, where you can put your waste directly during breakfast. The lockable bicycle shed was very poor; All of Fletcher's bicycles were in the shed, so guests had no place to park their bicycles. Furthermore, the roof of the shed, which was nothing more than a container, was torn and when it rained the bicycles were still soaked. There was a swimming pool, but the staff did not indicate anything about bathrobes. All in all a disappointing hotel.

這是第一次在荷蘭住酒店,酒店就跟森林裏的城堡一樣,環境特別幽美,酒店旁邊還是一個馬場,散步逛逛,景色太美了

Pros: Beautiful area and property. Spacious room. Nice swimming pool that isn’t cramped. Plenty of parking space and grass for kids to play. Cons: Had to wait for 45 minutes in the lobby before I was helped. A long line of people were waiting to check in. The lobby is situated in a hallway which is quite odd. Burned myself with the swimming pool shower; heat went up all of a sudden and ended up being red and having to run to the sauna shower for a cold shower. Beds are way, way too soft and I woke up with back ache. A hotel should focus on excellent bedding. Very noisy rooms. Got a bathroom for disabled people which is weird for when you’re not. Some of the restaurant staff aren’t properly trained and act cranky. Extremely slow service - seemed understaffed. Not so great dinner - just adequate. There was a water bacteria issue in the environment at the time of our arrival. We had to cook all the water which is not practical with a family. A good hotel would stock the rooms with at least a large water bottle - this is practically at no cost to the venue when purchased in bulk. Even when they’d decide to charge the base cost, a hotel should immediately adapt to an exceptional situation like that.

It is 1.00 at night. Bunch of people singing in the poorly insulated and outdated hotel. No way to get just a few minutes sleep. Not possible to call reception because no number indicated on the phone or in the room. I cannot recommend this hotel.

The pictures look great and the location is very rural, if you are looking for a stay near the Veluwe. Checkin was 3pm and we showed up that time with nobody at the reception area desk. We waited for a person to check us in and finally a lady showed up and told us that there were others in front of us and pointed to people seated. After awhile another person showed up and they checked us in. It is a mystery to me why they could not check us in and provided the key when the room was ready. Seems very petty and not customer friendly. We paid for an upgraded room and it had a small bedroom and large sitting area. No refrigerator but there was a teakettle etc. The housekeeping crew had not done a very good job as it was still a bit dirty, no soap anywhere, just two little thin towels and no shampoo. Usually most of these places have large bottles now but they did not. The room was cold and we tried to turn the heat on but it did not seem to work. There is no airconditioner. We notified the front desk and they said they would take care of it. When we returned the room was even colder, heat did not work, no soap but we did have some more towels. I tried to call, but the phone did not work. Went downstairs and waited for the front desk person. It seems there are shorthanded and when the person has to do an errand, there is no one around. The same person who I talked to before, showed up and brought some soap and shampoo and said he had turned on the heat. Unfortunately, it did not work. No one around to fix it. He gave us some blankets. The night was cold as the heat never did work. I asked the front desk about it the next day and they indicated the main office was the one to complaint to. I emailed them and have not heard back. The bar is nice with good but a bit expensive drinks. The restaurant had some interesting specials for dinner (which we did not have) but the breakfast buffet was not elaborate but nice. Parking is ample in various lots around the estate. There is another really nice restaurant nearby called the Peerdestal. Great for a nice fancy dinner out, but reservations are definitely recommended.

We had a renovated deluxe room, that might explain some differences with other people's experiences. And were positively surprised, except for the dinner restaurant ( see separate review). Actually this renovated room was real 4 stars, and better than our average Fletcher hotel experience. Twice as large as the standard room for 50% extra price, basically a mini-suite. Separate sitting area with desk and sofa, bathroom with separate tub and shower (all a bit crammed) and in the other half of the room a separate WC. Nice bed, balcony, good WiFi. Pool was surprisingly good and big for a hotel, also free sauna. Decent breakfast, more 3 than 4 stars in variety; and a bit slow in refills. The estate grounds are already very nicely landscaped but the walks in the nearby Veluwezoom reserve are stunning. The room had a small drawbacks though: no hooks etc. to put the towels, and nice shower gel and shampoo supplied but absolutely nothing in terms of soap, neither liquid or concrete. We did not complain, otherwise probably they would have fixed that.

We ordered a high tea on Sunday June 18th: 1 regular, 1 no meat. The quality as well as quantity was very poor. Even got a white simple bun with broccoli and carrot on it! No fish, meat came directly from the supermarket it looked. The sweets were very simple and came straight out of a supermarket, with cheap tea and very bad and unfriendly service. It took ages to get a refresh on anything. There was no sandwiches, no scones/clotted cream + jam etc. Soup was okay, that presentation was nice. Three other tables complained as well. Overall: this hotel and staff have no clue (non Dutch speaking staff, no knowledge of what the high tea was, no explanation, the staff was overwhelmed with too many reservations- tried to do their best but some did not step it up at all, despite the pressure. In order to avoid disappointment do not stay here (even though the old mansion and garden look very nice.

Over the past three years, I have been a guest at the hotel, and unfortunately, the overall experience got worse and worse, especially the past year. I spent 3 nights during Christmas 2022 with my family, and had some serious issues regarding cleanliness and guest safety. Room dirty, one daily cleaning skipped, housekeeping barging into the room without the obligatory 3 timers knocking on the door – that´s hotel standard everywhere you go, and in all hotels I worked in over the past 30 years. Room doors that not automatically close when entering or leaving the room. That might enable un unwanted individual enter you room. The lack of hotel staff genuinely greeting the hotel guests in the corridors or reception is another thing that lacks at Avegoor. Slow service at the bar, whilst the GM is sipping a wine in the corner is another no-go for me. These issues have been addressed, Fletcher said in an email, and they guaranteed me an “upgrade and welcome drink” for my next stay. So I did it again; another reservation at Avegoor. I assume that in this case, Housekeeping or the GM inpects the room before the guest checks in, right? A guest that complained, and decides to come back is a "golden opportunity" for any buisness. Checked in, dead tired from my flight, and went to bed. Next morning, walking around the room I discovered an incredibly dirty room with a chronic lack of maintenance. Ripped curtains, corroded hot water pipes, coffee stains next to the coffee machine, dust everywhere; a lost screw in the wall, cobwebs on furniture, the list goes on. On my three days stay, I have seen literally only twice a manager of some kind, walking from the breakfast room with 4 cups of tea in his hand (why using a tray, right?), whistling happy, oblivious of all the issues the hotel has. When checking out, never ever my name was used (hotel standard since the 80´s). “Let me see” said the receptionist, “if you still have to pay something”. Well, If I am registered as a “no post”, obviously there is “nothing to pay”. (The night auditor/manager should check that, by the way). And the right phrasing would be “if I had any open balance”. Left the hotel for the airport. The following day I kindly sent an email to guest services, explaining my second bad experience in Avegoor, requesting a refund. The reply was that next time "I better find another hotel". It is frustrating, especially that the CEO was cc-ed in the email, and that I had no reply whatsoever from ASvegoor, the GM or CEO until this moment. So yes, the only good thing that came from this is that I will look for another hotel next time. But loosing a client is a very, very serious thing for any buisness, in my humble opinion.

We booked this hotel because we received a gift voucher. Check in was smooth, then walking to our room we noticed the hotel was in pretty poor shape. All doors and paintwork damaged or stained, the elevator doors showing metal through the paint. Our room was quite large but very sparsely furnished for the size. Two beds pushed together, two seats, a small table, a desk, small TV, all of which were in poor state. The bathroom rather dated and could've been cleaner (hair in the shower). At this point we discussed the option of leaving early, but seeing how we already made dinner reservations and drove all this way, we decided to stay. For dinner we had looked up the menu on the hotel website beforehand, but were given a different menu with fewer options. First course choice was either soup or soup, mains only a burger, a saté, or fish & chips. Nothing we were in the mood for, but if we wanted to order from the 'real' menu we had to pay an additional 7,50 each since they considered this an upgrade, plus the cost of whatever we ordered. Unbelievable. The food itself arrived rather quick, it tasted bland. Nobody came to check on us after the plates were served to check if we wanted dessert or another drink. Eventually we left our table with our plates half-eaten and asked the host at the door for the bill, which somehow had higher prices than what was mentioned on the menu. He corrected it, but again, how can this happen? Again contemplated leaving and spending the night in our own beds, but decided to sleep rather than drive in the evening. We slept OK, even though the walls were thin and we could hear everything going on out in the hallway. The breakfast was alright, the bread was fresh and the croissants were excellent, plenty of choices of yoghurt etc, but the scrambled eggs were overdone and the bacon undercooked. We checked out by 9 and rushed home.

I have to say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in ! My husband surprised me as a birthday treat to 2 days stay at this hotel. On arrival our room wasn’t ready and we had to wait 30 mins , we paid for our our stay before we saw the room ( big mistake) Our room was dirty and dusty, the windows were not clean & our balcony very dirty with weeds growing on it , the furniture was disgusting and broken. And chewing gum on the ground. We had no airco , no fridge or even a bottle of water in our room. We didn’t have a waste bin for rubbish. Everything in the room & hotel was very tired and needed redecorating! We had an evening meal which was terrible & over priced, there were cigarettes all over the ground at our table as they hadn’t provided ash trays . The breakfast was worse , we had to book a time to eat which we didn’t understand as it was a buffet , but when we arrived at 9am there was little or no food left! There were empty plates left on the tables with food waste on them and a stray cat which was there for our entire stay was sitting on the table eating the food from all the plates !!! Completely disgusting & unhygienic! We had some drinks in the evening but had to wait approximately 20 mins . There was a swimming pool, but this was also very tired & dirty & a tennis court was advertised but it was covered in weeds and clearly not in use . All in all a disaster holiday, we had traveled 2 hours to get there , so a choice to turn around and go home was not really ideal & we checked other hotels in the area but they were fully booked. When we checked out my husband wasn’t even asked if he had enjoyed his stay … I think we would have said we were glad we were leaving! It was a terrible place, don’t go !

Perfecte value for money concept.

The hotel was okay, looked better in pictures, me and my partner booked a double room but when we arrive there realized that it was two separated beds, even thou after we asked and paid more for a big bed. The staff made us feel uncomfortable, specially the hosts in the reception, they were hostile and not professional... I won't comeback and I don't recommend!
