Fantastic location next to Gora Station with easy access to Gotemba premium outlets via bus& Cablecar to Lake Ashi. Kaiseki breakfast and dinners were thoughtfully planned and different each meal. So many free snacks and food at different timings. Private outdoor onsen was wonderful as well. Note: you have to queue for any of the 3 huts. Only thing we didn’t like was having to shower outdoors and the dated toto bidet. Other than that, perfect 2 night stay at Hakone.

The hotel is brand new and very clean — everything feels fresh and well maintained. One of the highlights is its location near the Lalique Museum, which is an absolutely amazing place to visit. There are also supermarkets nearby, which makes everything very convenient. The area feels peaceful and somewhat secluded, giving you the sense of being away from the city. At the same time, it’s not isolated — you can easily reach the more lively areas by taking bus S, and it’s only a short ride. The atmosphere is completely different from the city — it feels almost like being in the countryside or at a summer house, very calm and relaxing. Inside the hotel, everything is beautiful and modern. Truly a great stay — thank you!

The hotel is located near Gora Station, and they offer a shuttle service. We were on a self-driving trip, and navigating there required a bit of careful attention, but there's parking available right outside the hotel. I give very high marks for the hotel's ambiance, the staff's service attitude, and the comfort of the rooms. The room was spacious, and the single beds were also very wide. The toilet and bathroom were separate, and there was a private onsen on the balcony. We ordered breakfast at the hotel, which was a Japanese-Western selection, pretty similar to what you'd find at a typical Western buffet.

20 min uphill hike from Gora station. Or you can take cable train up hill for two stations and walk on flatland for about 8 minutes to hotel. Hotel has shuttle bus. They dropped us off on the way back. You can possibly call to pick you up at Gora station. Trip.com reservation options show you prices for one adult. It's very hard to book for 3 people to stay in one room to save money. I sent a custom request to the hotel exactly this - 3 people in one room. Trip.com charged me $270 and when I got to the hotel, they said I have to pay $300+ more for 2 more people. That was not clearly communicated to me by either Trip.com or hotel. There's a language and cultural barrier. In Japan, you pay per person - not by rooms. They scan your all passports of everyone staying - not just the person who books. With last minute notice, I had no choice but to pay more as other hotels nearby are filled up and we were very tired from 4 hours train transfers dragging our bags plus 8 minutes walk to the hotel. All in all, if trip.com room selections are not a perfect fit, I can't recommend booking this hotel. Custom messages are not recognized. Communication is lacking. You will get charged last minute without any alternatives left. For $570 a night, we could have a way better hotel in Hakone. The breakfast also wasn't memorable and you have to reserve it ahead of time. I would not come back.

Just checked out from this hot spring hotel and couldn't wait to leave a glowing review! The most striking impression of my stay was how *new* everything felt. The hotel must have opened recently, as the overall decor is modern and minimalist, and everything is sparkling clean and well-maintained. It made for a very comfortable stay. ♨️ Must-Praise Highlight: The private hot spring bath in the room I originally booked this hotel specifically for the in-room hot spring, and it certainly didn't disappoint! The hot spring bath is tucked away in a corner of the room, beautifully designed, and genuine hot spring water flows directly from the tap. Being brand new, the stone of the tub and the surrounding area are impeccably maintained, completely free of any old stains or odors. For someone a bit of a clean freak like me, being able to confidently strip down and soak in a private space without worrying about the cleanliness of a public bath was a huge plus. I took a dip before bed and again after waking up in the morning, enjoying the view outside the window – all my fatigue just melted away. Beyond the hot spring, the room's other amenities were also fully equipped, showing the hotel's attention to detail. I also have to commend the service team here. The front desk staff spoke both Chinese and English, so communication was absolutely seamless. They were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to help with travel recommendations. Overall, if you're looking for a clean, stylish, and relaxing getaway where you can enjoy private hot spring moments, this place is definitely the perfect choice. I'll certainly be back if I get the chance!

If you're looking for convenience, this is the place. It's situated right by Gora Station. The trade-off is the train noise, which starts around 6 AM and stops at 10 PM, so keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper. Both the lobby and the hot spring (onsen) are on the B1 level. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet as there were many options to choose from. One thing to note is the central air conditioning system in the guest rooms.

I booked a private hot spring room, 800 a night for a twin bed. The surroundings are really nice, and the air is fresh. The front desk offers complimentary drinks and an ice machine. The only, *only* downside is that the bottom part of the private hot spring's door frame is corroded by water, but it doesn't affect the stay. I hope the hotel gets it fixed soon. After booking, they immediately sent a confirmation and followed up with multiple email reminders and notifications, which was very thoughtful. There's a bus stop right next door. The only other minor inconvenience is that the nearest convenience store is a bit far, but the hotel also has vending machines and a restaurant, so you generally don't need to go to a convenience store. It's well-suited for those traveling by chartered car or in groups. The room is also very spacious. Overall, it was a great experience.

Our entire stay made for a truly wonderful trip! 😊 From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and received incredibly attentive service. The drinks, amenities, and loungewear were all excellent. Both the indoor and outdoor onsen baths in our room were incredibly relaxing! We also enjoyed the heated pool and steam sauna. I highly recommend checking in early to fully enjoy your hotel stay! I was especially happy that the breakfast had such a wide variety at the salad bar! We'd love to visit again! The experience was even more stunning than the pictures online, truly feeling like a Nordic forest retreat. Location: After getting off the bus, there's a bit of a slope to climb. You can call the hotel in advance for a pick-up at the stop, and they also offer a drop-off service to a nearby bus stop after check-out, which is excellent service. Environment: Being deep in the mountains, it genuinely captures the essence of a forest vacation home. Everything is wonderful, from the buildings connected by wooden walkways to the open-air staircase landscape and the forest cafe and reception area. Each room boasts an independent window view, and even the hot spring pool offers great scenery. Breakfast is plentiful, and the coffee and ice cream from the mini-fridge are complimentary. There's also a DIY tea-making station. Upon check-in, they thoughtfully discuss your itinerary, making it easy for them to pick you up at the bus stop when you return in the evening – very considerate.

[Fufu Hakone: A Luxurious Mountain Escape] Fufu Hakone is located in the quiet Gora region and seamlessly blends modern comforts with traditional Japanese ryokan hospitality. The property stands out for its unique dual hot spring experiences, providing private balcony baths with clear mineral water in every suite alongside communal pools filled with therapeutic, milky-white sulfur volcanic water. We had a wonderful one-night stay at Fufu Hakone on 28 May 2026, which included a Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. [Getting There] Our journey began with a midnight flight from Singapore, reaching Tokyo at 9:00 AM. From there, we caught the Narita Express and changed to the Tokaido Shinkansen to travel to Odawara, before making our way up to Gora. We arrived at Gora Station close to 3:00 PM to find it drizzling. Unfortunately, local taxis were completely unavailable and we could not find any vehicles on the GO app. Fortunately, we managed to get into the shelter of the tourist information centre. The lady on duty was incredibly helpful, assisting us to call Fufu Hakone for a pickup and directing us to the exact area where hotel shuttle services operate. We highly recommend that you do not attempt to walk to the resort from the station, especially in poor weather. [Arrival Experience] The moment we arrived at the resort, we were met with warm smiles and greetings. We were guided to the reception area located on the second level of the front building and seated comfortably in the lounge, where we were served hot tea. A designated staff member came over to complete our check-in process and then escorted us to our room in the guest building. The level of attentiveness was outstanding. The staff member explained every single detail in the room, including the layout of the suite, the private balcony onsen, the water temperature controls, the television, and the mini-bar, which is entirely complimentary. They also carefully went through our dinner order, taking down all of our personal preferences, likes, and dislikes. [The Suite] Our suite, named 楢の芽 (Naranome), was located on the third level. Rather than trying to describe the beautiful layout in words, I will let the accompanying photos speak for themselves. The room features two super-single beds that are incredibly fluffy and soft, with each bed featuring two plush pillows to guarantee a perfect night of sleep. The resort provided both pyjamas and a two-piece samue yukata for our stay. The pyjamas are strictly for use inside the room, while the samue yukata is intended to be worn when exploring the public areas of the property. [Dinner and Breakfast] Both the Kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were exceptional. Because many of the exquisite dishes feature seasonal ingredients that change throughout the year, please refer to my photos for a visual look at what was served during our stay. [The Ultimate Onsen Routine] To make the most of the dual hot springs, I highly recommend this routine: - Welcome Soak: Start with the light and refreshing clear mineral water on your private balcony to gently wash away travel fatigue before dinner. - Dinner and Rest: Enjoy your Kaiseki meal, then return to your suite to digest comfortably for a few hours. - Nightcap Soak: End the evening in the communal baths. The thick, milky-white sulphur volcanic water melts away muscle tension and deeply relaxes the body before sleep. [Areas for Improvement] While the stay was mostly flawless, there are two minor points to note: - Toothbrush Set: The provided toothbrush set was rather small for my liking. It felt like it took ages to finish brushing my teeth. You should definitely bring your own if this is a concern for you. - Room Attire: The two-piece samue yukata was not comfortable at all. It is not mandatory to wear it around the property, but we chose to do so anyway to fully immerse ourselves in the traditional ryokan culture.
