The hot shower was good and the amenities were great! It was a shared bathroom, but there were no other guests so I was able to use it freely.

One of the few optional hotels on Tanna Island, it can only be said that there are no options, unless you spend more money to choose the spa hotel next door. The location is good, it's super close to the airport, and the volcano tour can be booked on the same day. The only experience I was most dissatisfied with was the hygienic conditions of the hotel. I ordered a coconut, but I ****** it in and ****** in a mouthful of sand. The straw was full of sand. I was so disgusted that I immediately ran into the toilet and vomited. The taste of the hotel's meals is also average, so there is no choice.

I am compelled to share our deeply frustrating experience with Tanna Evergreen Resorts. Despite facing unforeseen circumstances due to the sudden bankruptcy of Air Vanuatu, our appeal for a simple credit towards a future stay—rather than a refund—was bluntly denied. Our request was met with a rigid adherence to cancellation policies that showed no consideration for exceptional circumstances. Not only did this rigid stance disregard the potential of fostering a long-term relationship with frequent visitors like ourselves, but it also overlooked a crucial opportunity to demonstrate customer care and understanding. This experience has significantly tainted our perception of Tanna Evergreen Resorts, and we are left feeling undervalued and dismissed as guests.

While we were thankful they took us in due to us being stuck because of tropical low it was extremely disappointing. For the price it’s extremely run down. The pizza is made from a frozen pizza. The bathrooms are dirty. The snorkeling gear broken (our gear was stuck in airport storage at Vila) the entrance to the ocean has had no maintenance so my husband slipped and dislocated his finger. No first aid or medical help was offered and no one went to fix the access area. The tours are overpriced due to commission. I’m thankful they let us leave but this resort does not meet the expectations of the high price. The relationship between the management and the staff is obviously terrible. The staff are nice and obviously trying their hardest. If I was the owner I’d be extremely concerned and would get there and take a look themselves. This is the first bad review I’ve ever done.

Friendly and amazing staff. Nice sunset view from the pool and sunset spot view. We recommend TERT for your Tanna trip. For diner they serve delicious food but limited stock of some menu e.g lobster and fish long coconut. For kids,we recommend fish and ships.

Great communication BEFORE my stay, they offer free airport transport which is great. Their welcome is warm with coconut water, they show you the premises and inform you about the timings. Unfortunately regards the food they didn't stood up to the standards, as I previously communicated to them that I ate plant-based and they ensured that I would have options, that didn't happen. The included breakfast wasn't plant-based friendly. My first morning the staff members were kind of confused, there were just fruit out and I asked them if any bread or something more filling was coming out, they couldn't communicate with me so I asked for bread and cheese (that would be charged). Then 20 minutes later they put out bread and beans. My second morning I showed up at the dining room 30 minutes later than the breakfast started and almost nothing left, as they were not refilling. Besides all that my room was decent and loved their pool.

Outside of the covid period I have stayed several times a year at Tanna Evergreen for at least the past eight years. I have always been satisfied with my stays and the service has always been quite good. Certainly there have beens some disruptions in the supply chain since covid particularly with Air Vanuatu and food delivery to Tanna. I think both situations will improve as time goes by. The new internet service is greatly improved over the old one where sometimes you needed to sit near reception to get a connection. 500 Vatu for it is cheap based on the quality difference. My rooms have always been clean and well maintained. During the warmer months I will opt for a room with air conditioning although it is not often needed. Tanna is a pretty remote place and not all of our "First World" expectations will be met there. Tanna Evergreen may not be a "Spa Weekend" type of resort but as a place to stay while experiencing Tanna Culture and the volcano it is terrific. Mike and Stefanie have always been gracious hosts and will be happy to help you. Mark

Really an unforgettable experience in Tanna! Me and my friend stayed in Evergreen for 3 days, 2 nights. We booked the best of Tanna tour and everything was very perfect, from the welcome drink to the airport pickup. The tour on the second day was great fun, we experienced literally everything Tanna has to offer!!! Definitely want to come again!

I was stranded in the resort for three days due to Air Vanuatu canceling flights. The grounds of the resort look nice, and it is very spacious. The resort is on a small cliff, and the is a constant blow of wind from the ocean. It is mostly welcome in the tropic heat but at evening or night it can get chilly. There is no proper beach in the resort and the shoreline is full of corals and rocks and probably good for snorkeling. Problems start with buildings. They are somewhat run down and not upto the their task. Roofs are partially covered with plastic, which gives an unprofessional look. Why not replace the straw roofs with material that can stand the test of weather? Rooms are very basic but clean. I was lodging in two cottages, where the other one had a small table and the other one had nothing expect two beds and a drawer. There are two chairs outside for lounging. My rooms had a mosquito net, but I learned not all have it so be careful you get a room with it if mosquitos are an issue. (there was very few of them thank to the gusts of wind). Restaurant serves mediocre food at best. Meals don't taste bad but it is seems that the chef does not have a passion towards his/her work. They have reasonable big menu and they had everything available I wanted to taste. They have pizza on menu and the the type depends on what frozen pizza the chef happens to grab from the freezer. Highlight of the place is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful on all topics. They helped me to call the airline several times to try to find a way to escape the island.

The location is fantastic - snorkel the beautiful reef straight from the front of the hotel. Spacious grounds and a cool tidal channel with fish to feed. The staff were all absolutely lovely. However, that's where the praise stops..... this "resort" is extremely run down, very overpriced and absolutely does NOT match what is advertised. We were so disappointed to return here after 15 years to find it is now "managed" and owned by foreigners who never seem to be present and the staff do not seem very happy working here. We felt really sorry for them every time they had to tell us about a surprise extra fee or that they didn't have what was advertised. The low points: - The pool probably would be fabulous but it was empty when we arrived and didn't look like it had been used in some time. - The food was very expensive and the one and only meal we ate here was pretty terrible. - On arrival we were informed that the manager had just introduced a charge for WiFi (was free when we booked) which we were expected to pay, despite not being advised of this and our booking pre-dating this change. - The rooms are TINY - we stayed in an upper garden villa and it was NOT even close to the advertised dimensions. Some of the lights didn't work and it was pretty dirty. - The "buffet breakfast" was an absolute joke - plain bread with no butter or jam, expired packets of nutrigrain and some fruit. No juice and we had to negotiate getting coffee included! I understand Tanna has done it tough with covid and 2 cyclones, but look after your staff, don't advertise what you simply don't have and don't slug your guests for extra charges.....We never did get to speak to the elusive manager.... Again, cannot stress how lovely the staff were at the Evergreen and they were clearly doing the best they could under the circumstances!

This hotel is the budget option for the Mount yasir overnight tour. It is fine. The rooms are a decent size even if the single beds are small. The restaurant for dinner dinner gave most of the menu options but what they had was tasty, breakfast was terrible. The staff were completely incompetent. No receptionist at checkout. Had to wait way past my taxi collection time, bar staff took an hour to make a cocktail.

The good stuff: Lovely friendly staff. Amazing garden. Quiet rooms. comfortable beds. Close to airport. Clean pool. Big breakfast included. Amazing excursions. Recommend volcano and toka dancing. The work ons : Food shortages and a large fixed menu meant quite a struggle to find what actually was available. Surely a better system could be developed. Food and trips are expensive. No snorkeling gear for hire or an excursion offered despite being on a reef (tip white grass next door does a trip for 2500vat including gear). Staff seemed very unhappy with management and often it seemed a struggle to get enough to operate. Hot water kept disappearing. At least half our showers were cold. Dodgy pilot light? Anyhow Tanna is not developed and it’s an adventure just being there. Thank you to everyone at evergreen for their efforts and the experience. Hopefully above feedback will turn it into a 5 star review next time
