Forte Kochi

My husband and I initially booked our stay for about 3-4 days, but once we got there, my husband hurt his back and we extended our stay. The staff definitely went over and beyond to take care of us. We requested a 3-day treatment from the male massage therapist on staff - which helped my husband immensely. On top of it, we requested the staff for a doctor, who prescribed medicine for my husband, which the staff went and got for us. They checked on us and inquired about his back every single time they saw us. They even brought food from the breakfast buffet to our room since my husband's back was so bad he couldn't walk over to the restaurant area. It was just amazing. We can't wait to come back to this place the next time we're in Kerala!

Krishnadas made our stay unforgettable. He went out of his way to change our room and taught us so much about Kerala and all of its geography and culture. Would highly recommend this hotel, in the heart of Fort Kochi, and its great service! Really enjoyed our stay there.

Excellent Room and excellent staff. Very conveniently located near the waterMetro. Facilities are nice. Breakfast had lot of options for a vegetarian. The heritage tour arranged by the hotel was informative. He took us around multiple historic locations.

The ideal destination for a family stay, offering unmatched comfort and attentive service. Evenings are made memorable with traditional tea and coffee, evoking cherished old-age memories. The food is exceptionally delicious, with the chef always available to accommodate special requests. The front office team is remarkably caring and attentive, ensuring every need is met. Special mention to Mr. Brito for his outstanding assistance, making the experience truly delightful.

This is a charming heritage property in Forte Kochi - our room was large, well-appointed and cool - albeit a little dimly lit. The pool area is lovely and the environment relaxing – but the tiling around the pool is extremely slippery when wet. Staff were well meaning but lacked basic hospitality training. Simple requests like extra tissues for the bathroom could take hours. The biggest issue is the quality of the food and beverage offering. Service is extraordinarily slow and the beverage selection in the bar is limited. Weirdly, the bar staff liked to play house music during the day - which felt very out of place in a heritage property. Trying to organise a drink or cocktail by the pool or in the evening was frustrating - you had to find someone to serve you and then usually ask several times where the drink was. Often basic items like beer were out of stock. The buffet breakfasts were just awful - food not replenished, dismal quality - we only ate there once and went elsewhere on other days (every though breakfast was included in our room tariff.) Wifi was very slow and patchy and in our room usable – a staff member did his best to try and resolve this, without success – I needed to cancel video conference meetings and move to phone call meetings. Management seeed keen on feedback - which is laudable but they seemed clueless on what a quality hospitality experience should look and feel like. This is an expensive property – we stayed at the Taj Malabar afterwards for not much more and the difference in quality and hospitality was like night and day. I’d avoid staying here, unless you can get a very cheap deal and are happy to eat elsewhere (there are plenty of solid options nearby - Lila recommended).

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful hotel, perfectly situated near the Arabian Sea. The colonial architecture was breathtaking, and the food was exceptional. What truly made our stay stand out, however, was the outstanding service from the well-trained and friendly staff. Highly recommended!
