Do not stay here! When we first arrived we had to wait in massive queue in the hotel lobby, no social distancing, everyone is telling at each other, pushing around. When our turn came they only gave us one key even if we booked two apartments. When we told them we book 2 of them it's like they didn't believe us and I had to get my phone out to show them the booking for them to give us another key and paperwork. Then they decided to charge us a £150 deposit for each room. It's not a big deal if they would give it back after the stay, but it took literally 3 weeks to get back to the bank account!!! When we went to the apartments it was so bad. Firstly, the lobby was veeery smelly and had stains all over the carpet. Not a nice especially during there troubling times is it, especially as it was obviously not cleaned or disinfected well enough? It was even worse when we entered the room. It seems like the cleaning crew just cleaned around the most visible areas and left everything else as is. There was dust rubbish and dirt all over the ground, in between the cabinets and behind the bed. The window was propped open with a bottle that we couldn't even get out to shut it as it was freezing cold. The toilet was all dirty and towels were used. The tables had stains all over them. The sofa bed was all ripped up. Cups and cutlery were not washed well and had stains on them!!! When we went back to the reception to complain we got yelled at by a lady to stand back and not bother her. She then had the audacity to tell us they'll only deal with us after everyone else gets checked in. So why are we paying you money and leaving you the deposit? To stay in a nasty dirty room???? I know it's essentially not her fault but cmon, at least talk to us and see what the problem was. There were other people there waiting for the same thing, they told us it's been a hour since they've been waiting. You should really manage your team better as well as your cleaning crew. So unprofessional! I will never ever be staying here again and I'll advise anyone reading this comment to avoid the hotel at all costs

The Castle Collection - 25 Castle Street

My husband and I stayed at 42 Castle Street in September 2022 and liked it so much that we booked with Castle Collection again. This time (May 2023 ) we stayed in 25 Castle Street (flat 12) and it was so grotty that we had to go out and buy cleaning products from Tesco’s (they only supply dishwashing liquid). It was actually an adventure of discovery. There was dried up vomit on the lounge suite, (nice and crunchy) the bed head and wall to the left of it had some liquid drip stuff on it ( came off with disinfectant wipes), the walls were filthy, (more liquid drips, so I can only assume that a lot of drinking/ puking must have taken place. The skirting boards had stains and black grime, ( sadly, they defeated me and my myriad of cleaning products) the cushions had liquid/vomit stains and the carpet was so gross I didn’t want to imagine what had gone on in the past. As for the view… well, the windows had bird crap all over them from the derelict building next door, which has more than its share of pigeons and their nests. If you leave any window open to let fresh air in, (it’s stuffy) the pigeons try to get in. They do tend to be somewhat noisy, but ear plugs fixed that. You get the odd seagull crapping, too, but I guess they decided that there’s no need to try and clean the windows, as there’s nothing to see anyway. I realise that that the building and birds are not Castle Collection’s fault, but they’re advertising ‘luxury apartments‘ and to be honest, this apartment made me feel uncomfortable and because it was so grotty, I avoided it as much as possible, and I was there for eight nights! Anyway, I managed to clean the vomit off the lounge and the drips off the bed head and wall, but the living room wall and skirting boards defeated me as they were too ingrained. Okay, it was straight after Eurovision, but really? I am a frequent visitor to Liverpool, as am originally from Liverpool and live in Australia, and I thought the Castle Collection was a great place - umm, no. So disheartening. Anyway, the positives - great location and communication regarding access etc was really efficient and friendly. Really easy access. Number 42 Castle St has a lift, but number 25 doesn’t. Car park nearby with discount rates.

Rooms smell damp and musty like a lift, no fresh air just stale. Noticed that the air conditioning has no return air grill only a supply grill where a minimal amount of air blows out from which smells stale and musty like a loft does. Air con noisy because it's not able to pull any air from the room. Dust on top of ledges. To top things off booked a room with breakfast but was told my booking didn't have breakfast and then I was over charged. Quite a few complaining about lights not working. Staff tried their best to be helpful.

We booked an overnight stay so we could go to a concert in Anfield and when we checked in with Amina were informed that our booked room was upgraded to a superior double She also gave us information about the transport to the venue without us even asking and was generally very courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the concert and the hotel including: Value for money and cleanliness and you provided us with a good quality breakfast with everything we needed We would stay again and the receptionist, Amina was an asset to the hotel

A very cool hotel. A great location on Old Hall Street. Beautiful décor in the public areas and in the rooms. Very modern and spacious room with a great view. The staff were great and the Sky Bar restaurant was great also. Parking in the NCP is £17 for 24 hours and unfortunately there was no discount offered, so my only feedback would be to get a better rate in for guests, and maybe provide some guidance (as the car park is a bit of maze) and then they would have all angles covered.

Liverpool, a city that is so beautiful when the weather is fine. When I first arrived at the hotel, because the decoration was outside, the name of the hotel was too small. My son and I didn’t see the hotel in front of you. Then I turned around a big circle and found that I found the right place for the first time. The facilities are good. The room on the fourth floor where we live, even if the decoration does not affect the view, the lower floors are not clear. Hotel location is very good, go to the museum, go to the train station are very close, anyway, we stayed for two days, no car 😄 good experience 👍

Staying at the hotel for one week from January 12, 2020, the hotel is located in the city centre of Liverpool, 1000 meters away from the commercial pedestrian street and 500 meters away from the sea. The facilities in the room are similar to domestic express hotels, especially the shower facilities are relatively simple. Breakfast is standard sliced bread and small bread, plus other complementary foods and morning tea and coffee. However, the baked small bread tastes good and this one needs to be praised. The service attitude of the staff is still okay! Overall, the hotel is suitable for customers who do not have high requirements for the quality of living environment!
