Mercure Hotels in Melbourne

- Highly recommended - Location is very good. Near tram station, Swanston st. (where all the restaurants are here), QV mall (BigW, Woolworth), Melbourne central (Coles), Emporium (Rebel), state library - Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They responded well to my requests. - Bathroom size is very good. - Bedroom size is a bit small, but enough for 1 person to stay (queen size room) - The room is a bit dark, but the window helps when I need to work on my laptop. - I stayed here for 6 nights and I already booked this hotel for my next trip to Melbourne.

Had a great time here and we didn’t want to leave! How i wish i could’ve remembered all the names of the staff from reception, housekeeping and even the restaurant as they’ve all been amazing to us. Though, our request for a higher floor wasn’t accommodated ,they have been very attentive and i really appreciate their little surprise for my daughter’s birthday. We also had an incident and had to evacuate which scared my daughter but i’m glad no one is hurt and it was none of anyone’s control. One of the wheels of the bed frame was also missing and it almost caused an injury, the staff had offered to change rooms which is really nice of her but we’d just rather be willing to wait for the person that can fix it than cause more hassle to everyone if we changed room. Can’t wait to go back! Hopefully the hotel will be maintained well because its gorgeous!

I rarely write reviews for hotel. But i have to let the rest know about some small details of the hotel. Location is just opposite victoria market, very convenient to almost everywhere. Room cleanliness is ok but the room lights are too dim - it hurts my eyes when im trying to look for stuffs, this should be improved by putting extra stand lamp. The thing that i would like the management to pay attention to is the room card, i was being told that the hotel access is using old system hence the card cant place it close to phone or any magnetic stuffs as it affects the magnetic system of the card. I have trouble accessing with the key card and had to trouble the reception to reset it everytime! Imagine if i am out and be back at 12am there is no one there and you have to wait for the staff to come and fix it. Fyi my key card doesnt work almost everytime. I place my key card in the same bag with the phone but placing at different compartment in the bag. It is very troublesome and annoying. Ok another point to highlight is the inconvenience if you are staying back for night flight - ur luggage is allowed to store in the hotel but the problem is they do not have any toilet at their lobby. No toilet means u have to settle everything outside before you return and get ready to depart from hotel to airport.

Checked in quite late, around 10 PM, and the front desk was already empty. It took a while to find out I had to go to the back door, enter a code, and pick up the items. Interesting. Facilities: Standardized Cleanliness: Good Environment: There's road construction nearby, so you have to take a detour to drive in. Service: Felt really good, even though no one was physically present, they conveyed their sincerity.

Stayed at Mercure Melbourne Albert Park recently. The location is definitely the highlight — very convenient and close to the city and Albert Park area. However, the rooms felt quite small and outdated compared to other Mercure hotels in Melbourne. There was also a noticeable old mildew smell in the room which made the stay less comfortable. The bathroom/toilet was especially disappointing — very old, looked dirty, and in serious need of major renovation and updating. Food and service were okay, but fairly average overall and nothing particularly memorable. A decent stay for the location, but the hotel really needs refurbishment to match the standards of other Mercure properties in Melbourne.

I chose the Mercure brand as the name has a good reputation. I chose Mercure North Melbourne as it was very convenient to where I had meetings to attend over a two day period. Though I felt safe and comfortable in the hotel, I did think the hotel was quite ‘tired and tardy’’ looking. I would suggest it needs an overhaul - a ‘facelift’ and a total refurbishment to raise its standard.

This hotel offers great value for money. Its location is excellent, situated on the south bank of the Yarra River, right next to the Eureka 88 Skydeck. Cross the bridge to the north, and you'll reach the iconic Flinders Street Station. The front desk recommended self-check-in and check-out, and sometimes staff can be hard to find. The room provides a mini-bar and microwave, but the plastic cups had a strange smell. The space is quite spacious, but the bed is narrow and lacks power outlets near the headboard, which is a bit inconvenient.

The hotel offers a good variety for breakfast, but the taste leaves much to be desired. For example, the fried rice and noodles lacked egg and only contained frozen vegetables. The hot congee and natural honey were among the few highlights. Despite being open for over four years, the hotel rooms and public area corridors still have that 'new hotel smell,' likely due to the lack of windows for ventilation, relying solely on central air conditioning. The pool had no lifeguard, and when I went for a swim, many children were diving in without their guardians stopping them. I promptly left this potentially dangerous area. Sure enough, a short while later, one boy hurt his toe while diving and was taken out of the pool by his mother, who then rode the same elevator as me. The hotel doesn't offer bellhop service, so I had to push my own luggage cart between the front desk and my room. Hana at the front desk was professional and a great conversationalist. The front desk manager, Ron, on the other hand, seemed to lack a smile; based on my observations over two days, he maintained the same expression throughout.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Returning Guests & Still Impressed! This is our second stay at Mercure Caroline Springs in just two months — and once again, it did not disappoint! Receptionist Magda was absolutely wonderful—so welcoming and engaging! She recognized us from our first visit and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and comfortable. To our delight, she even told us we’d been upgraded—how exciting! Her warmth and attention to detail truly made our stay special. From the warm welcome at check-in to the spotless, comfortable rooms with beautiful lake views, everything was just as perfect as we remembered. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive, and the location is ideal — peaceful yet close to shops, cafes, and restaurants. It’s rare to find a place you want to come back to so quickly, but Mercure Caroline Springs truly feels like a home away from home. Already looking forward to our next visit !!!
