Hotel near Melbourne Central Business District,Southbank
Rising above the vibrant Southbank precinct, only minutes from the city and miles from the ordinary, Crown Metropol Melbourne’s sleek black façade is a nod to the city in which it proudly resides. Situated on the doorstep of Melbourne’s trendy southside, a short stroll from the CBD, South Melbourne Market, iconic sporting stadiums and 20 minutes from Melbourne’s International and Domestic airports. The modern rooms are a mix of clean classic lines with bold punctuations of colour and style. There are floor-to ceiling windows to take in the views, bespoke amenities, Wi-Fi and a mini bar stocked with Australian brands. The iconic infinity pool located on the 27th floor offers spectacular panoramic two-storey views of the city skyline. An array of entertainment options is on your doorstep with renowned restaurants, enticing bars, shopping, cinemas, karaoke and bowling, available throughout the Crown Melbourne complex.

"The location and reception service were excellent. The room was clean and tidy. However, only adults received a bath towel and room service wasn’t available until 4:00 pm the next day. Once we contacted reception it was sorted out immediately. The entertainment options were limited and there was no wifi. This was disappointing for us travelling with children as we couldn’t watch Netflix or any other paid service. Check-in and check-out were easy and they offered excellent SMS service."

Check in late, room was wrongly assigned, booked a bigger room with added extra bed for my 3 boys was give a small room with no xtra bed, we booked a king bed room, was assigned a twin bed bigger room. We have to wait another half hour or more to change rooms and added the extra bed to the already small room for my kids. Then the reception said our rooms comes with breakfast without us asking which was also heard by my wife as well as her colleague, in which we thought it was complimentary after the wrongly assigned rooms. My kids enjoyed the breakfast as I normally don’t eat breakfast and but the follow night, I went down to the reception to ask if check out time can be extended which the same lady said she can extend it to 12pm, which we are glad, then I just told her the breakfast was enjoyable by my family and thank her for recommending them to us and also the complimentary offer. She check again on her computer then and a bit unsure and ask her senior colleague Austin to see if it was complimentary and that already raise my suspicion but her colleague said it is fine he will waive the charges if that happens as we already went through so much trouble with them. I felt relieved, thanking both of them , I went back to my room. At 11:40pm, my wife has already asleep and me almost to, the phone rang which startled my wife and myself , we answered and the same lady was on the line stating that they need to charge the breakfast for both days. I was a bit annoyed with this as we have already taken our breakfast for the first day which was offered to us as complimentary and then later in the middle of the night said we are charged ! The best part was as a 5 stars well known establishement, she tried to haggle with us on the price by saying she can offered some discount and then later she can give 50% discount for already consumed breakfast. My wife was furious and change her PJs and then we head down to the reception to settle this once and for all in the middle of the night. In the reception, we directly spoke to her supervisor whom heard of her offering us the complimentary breakfast in which he straight away cancel the charge for the morning breakfast and offer us a discounted breakfast the following morning. It was all a farce and inconvenience as well unreliability with their services which makes us go through so much stress for our family holiday. Anyway, we decided not to take up the offer and have to inform our children of the cancellation which disappointed them of course, but we think this whole incident is unfair. They said when we booked we choose no breakfast but the communication was it was complimentary for us for the disarray of arranging the room when we first check in. Besides we did not ask but was offered and said how good the breakfast was by your own staff. Also we did not extend our check out time as we were worried that they will charged us as we are totally have non confidence of what the staff said and actual offerings As my wife and myself are regular travellers, and normally we like to enjoy better accommodations, this is the first time these kind of incidents happen to us and at first we thought to booked Hyatt chain of hotels in our incoming Vietnam and Taiwan trip but we would be sceptical to do so after this. Please don’t get me wrong, the hotel is very nice, cleanliness , location and even food (our breakfast on day1) but the services was a let down to us and it is not about costs, it is about integrity and what been offered and not fulfilled and blame the clientele as well as the whole timing to disrupt the peace and enjoyable period of the guest.

The hotel's location is great, with nice views, and it's quite convenient to get everywhere. The aquarium is just across the bridge downstairs, which is very handy if you're with kids. The room cleaning was very thorough, and the front desk staff were quite friendly. For breakfast, the fruit selection was particularly generous, and everything else was standard but adequate. My only minor gripe is the breakfast timing: weekdays are 7-9:30 AM. It would be more reasonable if it were 6-10 AM, as many hotels I've stayed at even offer breakfast until 11 AM. 9:30 AM feels a bit early to finish. Also, it offers good value for money; the rooms are spacious, and for the price, it's pretty decent.

We stayed for one day in a one-bedroom apartment. The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was comfortable, well-maintained, and the room was clean. Overall, everything was good and the stay was pleasant. However, the bathtub could not be used because the surface was very rough, which was a bit disappointing. Apart from that issue, it was a good experience.

The facilities are indeed quite old; everything is showing its age. Its main advantage is the location, which is excellent. It's close to all the major attractions, and getting to Chinatown for meals is very convenient. The breakfast is decent; for Western cuisine, it's quite varied, with some made-to-order options like porridge and eggs.

This hotel deserves a five-star review! I wish I had stayed at the Sheraton for my entire trip to Melbourne. It's in the city center, which is incredibly convenient, and even late at night, around 8-9 PM, there are still plenty of people around, making it feel very safe. When I checked in, there was a Chinese-speaking staff member available. Although the person who actually checked me in was of Indian descent, a Chinese colleague came over to make sure everything was alright before leaving. They even offered me a complimentary glass of champagne! The hotel room was spacious and clean, definitely the best I've stayed in during my past two weeks in Sydney and Melbourne. It certainly lived up to expectations! Right outside the hotel, there's a Rolex store, and if you walk down the street, you'll find the Town Hall and a church. There are plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. It's also not far from Australia's famous WWL? Or was it WWs?

I stayed for 5 nights and here are my thoughts: 1) Although I requested a high floor in the notes, the hotel assigned me a room on the 5th floor (the hotel has 22 floors). 2) The room wasn't cleaned daily. One day, the housekeeper just left the clean towels on the bathroom floor. 3) There's a laundry room on the first floor, but only 3 out of 6 washing machines were working. 4) The bedding was quite clean, but unfortunately, the mattress was a bit too soft. 5) The location is convenient, with a Metro supermarket nearby.

The value of a prime location, the price of an outer-lying area! I would still choose Milan Hotel next time. Aldi supermarket is right next door, so we enjoyed beef and lamb steaks, and red and white wine every day. It's close to transport and attractions, with even the furthest places only a 30-minute walk away. If you don't want to walk, city buses are free and transfers are very convenient.

Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with balcony, kitchen (with oven, microwave, large refrigerator) and washer and dryer; it has a lot of space. We stayed for a total of 6 nights. There was no room cleaning. We had to take out the trash ourselves. Room cleaning service will only be provided if we stay for more than 7 nights. The overall feeling is very good. This area is very quiet, but it is also in the cable car free zone in the city, so you don’t have to worry about transportation when going to the city for dining.

The room's cleanliness was a bit subpar, especially the floor. However, the facilities were quite comprehensive, including a washing machine, dryer, and refrigerator. We booked two rooms for our family, and one of them had a washer-dryer combo instead of a separate dryer, which wasn't very efficient. Room cleaning was also a bit inconsistent; one room was cleaned daily, while the other wasn't. Furthermore, the hotel's internet speed was terrible. It was okay during the day, but the Wi-Fi was practically non-existent in the evening – barely enough to send a few messages, and sending pictures was almost impossible. On the positive side, the hotel's location is excellent, very close to Victoria Market, and convenient for public transport to other places. There's also an Asian supermarket and various other shops downstairs.

Location: The hotel is situated in a very quiet area, perfect for a peaceful getaway. Nights were serene with barely any car noise. It’s about a 10-minute drive to a nearby mall with Coles, Kmart, and other essentials—super convenient. For travelers, it’s around 40 minutes from the airport, which is manageable. Cleanliness: This was a mixed bag. Upon entering, we noticed a burnt iron mark and several purple stains on the carpet. We made sure to report these to reception immediately due to the $300 AUD bond fee, to avoid being held responsible. Being close to a lake or river meant encountering mosquitoes and some large flies. We also found spiders in the bathroom, but we managed to catch and release them outdoors. Towels provided were an issue—one was dirty when we checked in, and even the replacement towel the next day had stains. However, the beds were spotless, which was a relief. Service: The front desk staff were excellent—friendly, thorough, and accommodating. They explained all the amenities, including the location of the gym and pool, and handled our late checkout request graciously. Facilities: Although I didn’t personally use the gym or pool, the in-room facilities stood out. The smart TV was a bonus, with access to YouTube, Disney+, and Prime Video, ensuring entertainment for the family. Room: The two-bedroom apartment was incredibly spacious, with two bedrooms flanking a central living room. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, complete with an exhaust fan to keep the heat out. The beds were the highlight—so soft and comfortable, providing an excellent night’s sleep. Overall: While the initial issues with bugs were unpleasant (I dislike insects), once we cleared them out, the stay became very enjoyable. The spacious layout, serene environment, and cozy beds made it a pleasant experience overall.
