5-Star Hotels in Melbourne

The room was spacious, bright, and very new. It came fully equipped with a washing machine, microwave, and induction hob. The hotel is conveniently located just 200 meters from a tram stop and 300 meters from a bus stop. It's also very close to Chinatown, making it an excellent location overall. If you plan to stay, remember to book in advance, as it's often fully booked.

Subtle yet luxurious, with friendly staff, including a Chinese-speaking receptionist. The doormen were also excellent, helping me pinpoint locations for taxis since ride-sharing apps default to no parking at the hotel. I had to verbally communicate with the driver upon arrival, and everyone here is very willing to help. The rooms are spacious, and bottled water, small soaps, and other amenities are replenished during turn-down service.

Great location for the theatre. We could see the Michael Jackson show sign from our room. Car park is off site and horrible to try and get a park in but only 5min walk from the hotel and $25/ day. Close to parliament station. China town and easily accessible to all city areas. Check-in and check-out were easy, staff were polite, and the happy hour was a nice touch. The room itself was compact but quiet, even being right by the lift. The bathroom, however, was tiny. No way two people could fit at once. The fan didn’t work so the mirror fogged completely, and the shower glass wasn’t long enough, leaving the floor soaked after every use. The bottom of the door showed water damage. Blinds let in light around the edges, and while the air conditioner was noisy, it didn’t really bother us. The luggage space wasn’t big enough to hold a hard case flat without tipping, which was a bit annoying but manageable. Breakfast was unfortunately the biggest low point. Service felt disorganised and slow. We waited almost 20 minutes for the rabke we were sat at to be cleared. The continental breakfast was uninspiring and pastries didn’t seem fresh. We paid an additional $5 per person for menu items since continental breakfast was included in our booking, but if I had paid the full $30–$35 separately, I would’ve been disappointed. Bacon was American-style (crispy), and they did do well offering coffee and tea promptly on arrival. However, the juice service was confusing. No glasses, limited plates, and unclear service flow. Amenities were almost non-existent. The “gym” was about the size of the bathroom with no treadmill or bike, and the rooftop could be much more inviting if it had a covered area or bar. Overall, the location saves it. Ok for a short city stay if you’re here for convenience, but not somewhere I’d choose for comfort or amenities. Unfortunately wouldn’t stay again and not great value for money in my opinion.

The overall experience at this hotel was outstanding. The rooms are spacious, never feeling cramped, which is especially great for families or guests on an extended stay. The in-room amenities are comprehensive, with practical kitchen facilities and a washer/dryer that perfectly meet all your living needs while traveling. The hotel's location is both safe and quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, always smiling when assisting with check-in or answering questions, which made us feel very comfortable. The clean and tidy sanitation, along with the modern and stylish decor, also added significantly to the stay. Whether for business travel or a leisure vacation, this place truly offers a comfortable and convenient 'home away from home'.

The hotel is very close to the train station and the service is excellent. We had to ask the front desk to change rooms in the middle of our stay because of noisy neighbors, and they quickly moved us to a higher floor. Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Sydney and Melbourne during our Australia trip, this was the only one that provided bottled water, which was a really thoughtful touch. The princess-themed decor and limited edition bear display cabinet on the second floor are also very lovely.

I chose this hotel because the room type was decent and the decor wasn't overly business-like, unlike many hotel rooms in Melbourne that often feel small... Most importantly, the location is fantastic! It's right next to St. Paul's Cathedral, and you can practically walk to most major attractions within half a day from there. There's a McDonald's right downstairs, and restaurants on the first and second floors inside the building. The doormen were also very attentive. Overall, everything was quite good. For a family trip, there were no major issues, other than it being slightly on the business-y side.

We chose Le Méridien Melbourne for our family trip with kids, and the overall experience far exceeded our expectations! The hygiene was impeccable; every corner of the room was spotless and odor-free. The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to get around, and both the indoor and outdoor environments are elegant and tranquil. The view from the 5th-floor terrace is absolutely stunning. The service was consistently outstanding; the staff were gentle and polite, responding promptly to any requests we had. The twin-bed room offered ample space, allowing our family to stay comfortably and relaxed. The infrastructure was comprehensive and functional, with only a few minor details in individual pieces of equipment needing an upgrade. All in all, it offers great value for money, and I highly recommend it for families with children!

This hotel deserves a five-star review! I wish I had stayed at the Sheraton for my entire trip to Melbourne. It's in the city center, which is incredibly convenient, and even late at night, around 8-9 PM, there are still plenty of people around, making it feel very safe. When I checked in, there was a Chinese-speaking staff member available. Although the person who actually checked me in was of Indian descent, a Chinese colleague came over to make sure everything was alright before leaving. They even offered me a complimentary glass of champagne! The hotel room was spacious and clean, definitely the best I've stayed in during my past two weeks in Sydney and Melbourne. It certainly lived up to expectations! Right outside the hotel, there's a Rolex store, and if you walk down the street, you'll find the Town Hall and a church. There are plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. It's also not far from Australia's famous WWL? Or was it WWs?

The location is fantastic, right in Chinatown. Stepping out, you're surrounded by various Chinese restaurants and supermarkets, so there's no need to book breakfast. It's in the CBD, so many attractions are nearby, and a free tram stop is just a short walk away. The room is spacious and very clean. However, the service and amenities are just average. There's no water in the room; you have to go to the corridor to get it, and you need to bring your own slippers, toothbrush, and toothpaste. The biggest drawback is also the location. Chinatown turns into a bar street at night. After 8 PM, the area gets very chaotic with teenagers, drunk people, homeless individuals, and sex workers, which can be a bit intimidating. If this bothers you, you might consider booking a hotel in a quieter neighborhood that's not as central or in an upscale area. If you do stay here, it's best not to go out after 9 PM, although it's very normal and great for exploring during the day. Overall, for this price in Melbourne city center, I think it offers good value for money.

It truly looks like a 19th-century Neo-Gothic Venetian castle! Located in the heart of Collins Street, it's one of InterContinental's most luxurious heritage hotels worldwide. When you stay here, you can't help but spend time exploring, as both the exterior and interior decor are magnificent, and the room facilities are top-notch. It's definitely worth a stay.
