I booked a luxury spa day for 3 people. This cost £225. I booked this for my Mother’s 50th birthday. Upon arrival today I was disappointed to find that the “spa” were just facilities that were part of the hotel which any guests could access. This meant there were children tearing around, diving into the pool, unsupervised. This doesn’t fit the brief of “luxury” and it was not relaxing. The children were under 16 and were not supervised at all times. This meant that the pool was not able to be swam in because they were leaping around and playing. They also chewed off chunks of floats (that were provided) that then were just floating around in the pool. When it was time for lunch in your Lakeside View restaurant, we were informed that there was a wedding so we couldn’t eat in there. That would’ve been fine if there was a suitable alternative. There wasn’t. We were sat in what felt like the reception/bar of the hotel. Where wedding guests were milling around, so again, not luxury. The food was not what I had been told it was going to be. I was informed, when I called, it was a tapas style menu. The choices were dire and led to all three of us having a sandwich for lunch. Not really £225 worth for the food we received. Our starters came out after our main meals so we ended up with a table full of plates so there was no room on the table for any movement etc. During our afternoon, a large group of people (members of the public) came in and were behaving in such a way they ended up being told to leave the establishment. There were a few children and teenagers making lots of noise and setting off panic alarms in the changing rooms. They also left the changing rooms in a disgusting state, with towels strewn all over the floor. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the “luxury” spa day that I booked and paid £225 for. I was looking forward to a relaxing day with my Mother and Grandmother. We received the opposite. I feel it has very much ruined my Mother’s birthday. How can the advertise a “luxury spa day” for us to receive that kind of service! Appalled

service was excellent, facilities great, the standard room we stayed in while roomy, clean and spacious needs updating. complimentary coffee and tea good but more milk is needed as the milk sachets only contain a small amount of milk

The hotel is situated in Central Sheffield. There are quiet a bit of shops and game centres that you can visit. It is near the Sheffield Combined Court and that was the reason I booked and stayed there for 3 nights. The main problem with this hotel is their room is too small, and there is no working table to put your computer on if you want to do your works in the hotel. However the counter staff, Seymona, was very helpful and always with a smiling face. I thought they have a business centre, but they do not have one. I can send in the papers that I wanted to print to their email address and I got them printed out immediately. I did ask to print more than 10 files with over 100 pages. Seymona did it for me with all the welcoming attitude. I am grateful.
Overall speaking, if you if want a room to sleep. the hotel is fine and money worthwhile.

I would highly recommend the Crowne Plaza Victoria for any conference or large-scale event; the team here, in particular Emily Evans, were friendly, outgoing and went above and beyond to ensure that our conference ran smoothly. Before arriving at the hotel, the team was in constant contact with our team to ensure that our delegates rooms were booked, our menu selection for our formal dinner was confirmed and that dietary requirements would be met. Furthermore, after highlighting that some of our delegates would be observing Ramadan, the team not only provided packed breakfasts for these delegates so that they could continue to take part in suhoor, signage was created to highlight where the prayer room would be over the course of our stay. As the Crowne Plaza Victoria is a hotel there will be other guests who have booked their rooms months in advance, once the team realised that we would be six rooms short, the hotel across the road was contacted to enquire whether they had any availability to accommodate our overflow. Once confirmed that they did, all we had to do was inform the team who would be staying at this hotel and their dietary requirements; the fact that the Crowne Plaza was so proactive in providing a solution to a problem we were not aware of was so greatly appreciated and highlighted to us that this was a venue/ team which wanted to ensure that we and our delegates had the best time with them before we had even arrived! In addition to this, the team’s dedication to ensuring that our conference ran smoothly was further highlighted by Emily physically moving the tables all by herself when we realised that the position of certain tables obstructed the view of the presentation. All requests such as; additional labelling for food, temperature control of the main room were completed swiftly, even by hotel staff whom were not directly assigned to looking after us. All the food provided was amazing, whether it was lunch, snacks or the food served at dinner, you could tell that an incredible amount of detail was given. I could not recommend this hotel and team enough!

Had a lovely stay here and they even added a nice little touch as we had just got married. Only downside was that there was no bottled water provided in the room. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were really friendly and welcoming.

The Rutland Hotel is conveniently located near to the University of Sheffield. Single rooms are not the best however double room are quite nice having a traditional feeling. However both kind of rooms are newly decorated so the rooms and bathrooms are quite nice. The breakfast is good as they prepare made to order eggs, hash browns, mushrooms and tomatos. Overall I like it and will plan to stay again.

Excellent
PPaulaVery comfortable stay, spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed. Bath robes are a nice touch. Tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits which you can top up from stations on each corridor. Breakfast was very good.
GGuest UserThe positives: Very centrally located, which is both advantage and a disadvantage (see below). Reasonably priced, extremely comfortable beds, high water-pressure shower. That was pretty much what we wanted when we arrived exhausted and grubby after a long journey. A minor negative: the in-house catering options are very limited beyond bar snacks; but there’s dozens of restaurants within walking distance. The major negative, and potentially a deal-breaker if it’s important to you: beware the rooms that overlook the square behind the hotel. There are a number of bars with late music licenses, and you simply won’t get any sleep AT ALL unless you’re in the bar and return to the room after closing time. We’re not talking “a bit of mild disturbance”, either - it’s “making things on the table in the room rattle” levels of bass, “singalong with Rhianna in bed” levels of volume. When I initially complained at about midnight, I got a “what do you expect, we’re a city centre hotel” response followed by complimentary earplugs followed by a move to a room on the other side of the hotel after I used my “are you kidding me” face. I was very tired, and very unhappy. Kudos to the duty manager for sorting it out, minus some kudos for trying to fob me off initially. Somehow I get the feeling that I’m far from the first person to arrive at the front desk with a “*** is this a hotel or a nightclub??” face. To be fair to the management, there’s not a lot they can do about their neighbours apart from try to get the offending licenses revoked (which I was led to believe they’re trying to do). Trying to sell those rooms most-affected on a weekend just isn’t going to work, though. It really is that loud and disturbing. Elsewhere it’s a decent hotel - it’s missing some of the bells and whistles which would justify the term “luxury”, maybe - but that level of noise pollution in the affected areas is way outside what could be considered acceptable. My 2c - stay here by all means, but call ahead and make absolutely sure you’re not in the noisy rooms, and be prepared to either get assertive with the front desk or divert to a quieter establishment.
MMengskyI wouldn't consider this a good stay, as I encountered several issues. First, the check-in process was a hassle since this hotel doesn't have a front desk. I spent hours calling the hotel, facing either ”Line busy” or no response after a long wait. If it wasn’t for Trip.com's customer service finally connecting with the hotel, I wouldn’t have known what to do. Second, the wooden door in my room was difficult to close; it required a hard push and made a loud ”bang.” The glass sliding door of the shower room was also problematic, it fell out on my first pull, and I'm certainly not strong enough to break a door with just one pull. Lastly, and most frustratingly, was the toilet paper situation. It was my first time encountering a toilet without a single roll of paper. I can't imagine what I would be if I hadn't brought my own in my bag that day. On a positive note, the room was well-equipped with a fridge, oven, heater, toaster, and even an iron, which suggests the hotel might have been quite good when the things are all good a few years ago, but not now.
Was checked in another hotel locally, but it was so bad, that I couldn’t stay there, so found this, less than a mile away. It was great. It was originally a student Accomodation, but has been converted to a trendy, budget hotel. It is bright, clean, friendly, budget Accomodation. You can either use the shared kitchen facilities on each floor, to prepare your own meals, or use the dining area in the adjoining hotel. There are also drinks, cakes, snacks etc available in the café type areas of the hotel. Parking is free. The room was fairly small, but had a double bed, work area, clothes hanging space and an immaculate en-suite bathroom. The only negative I can say, is that the mattress was a little hard for me personally. Would highly recommend for a budget hotel and I will stay there again
法法塔赫布尔西格里邢杲The hotel is very clean. In the morning, I went to the restaurant through the beautiful English garden. It felt very good. In addition to regular coffee and drinks, the breakfast was quite good. The front desk is so-so. It is about 5-6 stops by rail from the University of Sheffield. It feels a little bit remote. There is a large supermarket/parking lot nearby. From the station, pass the supermarket back to the hotel. There were some fast food a few hundred meters behind the hotel, but we did not go.
GGuest UserSo after reading other reviews I was a little unsure what to expect after booking this hotel to be honest, however we were pleasantly surprised. We had a double room on the 7th floor which was very roomy, extremely comfortable king size bed, clean and tidy with everything needed (towels, kettle, iron, hairdryer) ample size bathroom which needed a little TLC but again was clean and tidy. Admittedly the let down was the breakfast that was included in the booking, this needs some attention as the food quality isn’t great and defo needs to be warmer with some more choice but all in all, did the job. Last time we stayed in Sheffield we at another hotel that had rooms like rabbit hutches and no windows and this hotel was better and will stay here again for a weekend when we are next in Sheffield
GGuest UserThere wasn't much need for service with a one night stay but, it looked as though if needed, it was there. Location was OK if the canal side bars were accessible through the rear of the lobby but it was locked so had to turn a 2min walk into a 10min walk but not the end of the world. There were hairs in the bath and some rubbish in the corner of the room but other than that, all was fine. Loved they had an iron and ironing board but the cover was a little grotty. Overall, I'd stay again.
IIt’s Me AntoVery close to the town centre. The lack of parking is not really up to the hotel since it’s down to the location, however. I would have liked some sort of parking discount to nearby parking spaces.
Good breakfast with a wide range despite being a “Budget” hotel. I was quite happy to see that.
GGuest UserI stayed here whilst in Sheffield last month. Although it was cheap and cheerful it had everything I needed. It was clean and there was food available for breakfast which I did not expect. I got very chatty with one of the staff and he was brilliant to talk to. Would definitely use again if in Sheffield.
