This old house has a wonderful ambiance, the room was clean and tidy, and there was plenty of space for our family of four. The location is absolutely fantastic, just a short walk to Paifang Street and very close to Guangji Bridge, with lots of food options nearby.

SHIRL CHOONGEntering Paifang Street, look out for this big 百货大楼. Look left into the small lane before this big shop. One guy with a stall right the entrance of this lane knows the owner of the Inn.
The 4th photo, 2 houses, the Inn is the one on the right.
Though I contacted the boss 2 days prior to arrival, he didn't see my WeChat message. Anyway, fortunately he was there waiting for my late arrival, 6.00-ish in the late afternoon
Great boss, who would respond to messages, once connected to WeChat, face-to-face.
Nice clean room, great strategic location, walkable to major spots for sights
If you're a fan of almond tea, as a Cantonese dessert the stall inside the side lane, on the left, a few steps from the main entrance of Paifang Street is super delicious (Photos 5 & 6)

It's centrally located in Chaozhou Ancient City, making both transportation and parking incredibly convenient. We parked at the Kaiyuan parking lot, and it was just a one-minute walk to the inn. The owner was exceptionally thoughtful, offering tips and recommendations for food, drinks, and activities throughout our stay – all of their local suggestions were spot-on. The old courtyard house has a charming, ancient vibe, and our room was clean and refreshing with complete amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. The 'Qingmei Pavilion' duplex room was spacious with plenty of beds and excellent audio-visual facilities, offering incredible value for money. This B&B is a ancestral home from the Ming Dynasty, with attention to detail evident everywhere. It's also a benchmark for fire safety, making us feel very secure during our stay. The surrounding alleys are bustling with local life, and you can stumble upon delicious specialty foods around every corner. Strolling through the ancient courtyard dressed in Nyonya attire made for beautiful, atmospheric photos.

The room already looked great on the platform, but I didn't expect the hotel to be even more beautiful than the pictures! The room was spacious, and all the toiletries were provided. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We stayed for two nights, and both the kids and adults had a wonderful time. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit, and it's super close to all the attractions too!

We had a truly lovely stay at this Airbnb. The place has a spectacular view that made every morning and evening a joy — whether it was watching the sunrise or simply relaxing with the scenery, it added something really special to our time there. The host is incredibly friendly, warm, and approachable. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed. They were always happy to share recommendations for good food around the area, and their local tips helped us discover some really great places we might otherwise have missed. One of the most memorable parts of our stay was spending time with the host over tea, singing together, and chatting in the Teochew dialect. It was such a unique and heartfelt experience that made the stay feel much more personal and meaningful, like staying with family rather than just in an Airbnb. The location is also very convenient and accessible, with many good food options nearby, so it was easy to get around and enjoy the neighborhood without any hassle. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay, and we would happily come back again. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, comfortable, and memorable stay with a great view and a lovely host.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights, was slightly worried because we'd heard that many hotels in China don't accept foreigners even if you've booked online beforehand but had no issues here! The couple running the place are very warm and friendly. The hotel is nicely decorated with a scenic inner courtyard as well as a rooftop area. The room was comfortable and had an air conditioner. It also comes equipped with a gongfu tea set and some local tea. The location is great, less than a five minute walk to Pai Fang street, but on a quiet side street without much traffic noise. Since it's in the pedestrian zone, the best place for pick ups and drop offs is Xia Shui Gate - it's just a short walk from there, very manageable even with luggage. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay here again on any future trips to Chaozhou!

couldn’t complain more about their hospitality, the receptionist “小苏” and another one (maybe the boss) both are very helpful and nice. They recommended us some places for good food and always welcome us with the local Chinese tea. Rooms are decent comes with electronic toilet bowl, strategic location near all the tourist spots, all good and definitely will visit again.

My first time visiting Chaozhou, and the room I booked online certainly didn't disappoint! The room was spotlessly clean, and the location was fantastic. All the nearby attractions were just a 2-3 minute walk away. The owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly! Absolutely 5 stars!

This is probably the closest hotel to the high-speed train station. It's a good option if you have an early morning train or need a layover rest, especially since the train station is quite far from the city center.
However, there were discrepancies between the hotel's photos and the actual room. The pictures showed a Western-style toilet, but it was actually a squat toilet – which I could manage. But the shower wasn't separated, and if the pictures had accurately reflected this, I wouldn't have booked. I really dislike it when the entire bathroom gets drenched after a shower.
