Amazing
JJoshDBWExcellent little hotel in the heart of Chania Old Town. The rooms have a unique rustic charm and are clean + well decorated. Some of the problems other reviews mentioned didn’t occur for us: even though our room faced the busy alleyway, we never heard much noise in the night and we personally had no issues with the reception staff as they were almost always there and willing to offer advice, recommendations, or assistance at a moment’s notice. Definitely would recommend this or other Elia guesthouses in the future!
GGuest UserLovely spotlessly clean apartment with balcony and views across the sea. Wonderful swimming pool, the staff were first rate, so friendly and helpful. Short walks to the beach, and lots of bars and restaurants.
Bus stop at the bottom of the drive to take you into Chania (about 25 mins) .
Trips available to purchase from reception and they also organised our airport taxi.
Superb!
GGuest UserI recommend staying at the Sunrise Village hotel due to its good location away from the busy street, but also close to shops, restaurants and the beach. The room is spacious, the beds are comfortable, everything is clean and cleaned regularly. The meals are tasty and varied, everyone will find something they like. The pool and common area are clean, cleaned daily, there are plenty of sunbeds and a bar where drinks, cocktails and snacks are served. If I go to Crete again, I will use the hotel's services.
AAnastasia123I stayed here with my mom for one night, and we were both very impressed. The value for money was excellent, and the room actually exceeded my expectations—it looked even better in real life than in the photos. We had a beautiful view from the window, and the location was perfect: quiet, yet only a two-minute walk to the beach. Same for bus stop to Chania.
The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and helpful, which made us feel very welcome. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom, and it was equipped with everything we needed. It felt more like a small apartment, complete with a kitchen and a spacious balcony where we really enjoyed spending time.
We liked it so much that we even wanted to extend our stay, but unfortunately the rooms were already fully booked for our dates. Overall, a wonderful experience and a place I would definitely recommend.
DDaniela888The place is good looking and clean but it is not functional. The light could not be on while you open the door. You cannot go outside and take the key if someone else is in the room or they lose electricity. The shower has so little pressure that you simply cannot keep the water temperature, it is always too cold or too hot. There is no insolation so you hear everything from the other rooms making it impossible to sleep. It is located in coviniently at the old town center which is good if you do not have a car. If you do have a car it is very difficult to find parking and you will face heavy traffic every day.
AAnastasia123We stayed here with my mom for one night, and we were absolutely delighted with this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was special. The location is perfect—set in a peaceful village, just a one-minute walk to a wide, spacious beach with easy access to the water.
The room was spotless, freshly renovated, and even smelled pleasant. We had a large balcony with a table, and everything was so clean that when we wiped the table, there wasn’t even a trace of dust. The attention to detail in the cleaning was truly impressive.
The owner was wonderful to meet—so kind, welcoming, and generous. He treated us to fresh fruit and shared many helpful tips about the area, making our stay feel extra personal and warm. Breakfast was another highlight: homemade, delicious, and prepared with so much care.
This hotel completely won us over—the location, the atmosphere, the hospitality, everything was perfect. We already dream of coming back and staying longer.
GGuest UserThe person who makes a reservation at the hotel should first talk to the owner. There is no reception. I liked the room very much. Very clean, in the city center, close to entertainment venues. Everything is thought of in the hotel. The owner is very kind and helpful.
IIndia DBCute, cuter, cutest. Elia is the cutest. The sheets were comfy, the bed stiff yet plush. My wife enjoyed the balcony although the view was slightly over mediocre. The free, fresh cookies and eggs were a nice touch. The fridge did make brown noise but really, at the end of the day, I think it helped us sleep better (even though we had to wake up at 4:30am to catch our local bus to Heraklion to make our 9am Blue ferry—but this was delayed too). Good thing we remembered to leave our keys in the room.
GGuest UserWe had some problems when we arrived as you can see in the photos because these rooms exist even but then the receptionist was incredible and always worried that we were happy I have to thank for the kindness and professionalism it offered us upgrade without cost and rooms are very good even food no longer so much
