Luang Prabang Central Hotel is fantastic, and I highly recommend it. The accommodation, facilities, and buffet breakfast all contributed to a wonderful and comfortable stay. On the day I checked out, there was a small hiccup, but the hotel staff actively assisted and provided help, and the issue was resolved. I'm giving it a good rating. If I have the chance to visit Luang Prabang again, I will definitely choose to stay at Central Hotel.

Nice rooms and budget friendly. Quiet rooms with balcony and great showers. Breakfast is simple but fruits are good. Coffee which served in breakfast is not good but overall is great.

We initially booked one week but decided to extend our stay for another week, which already says a lot about our overall experience. While there are certainly some areas that could be improved, we felt comfortable enough to stay longer and would consider returning in the future. The room was generally clean and offered good value for the price. We especially enjoyed having a terrace and a bathtub, which made our stay more relaxing (also for our cat). However, some attention to detail in housekeeping and maintenance would make a noticeable difference. For example, spider webs, dust around ventilation areas, and air-conditioning units should be cleaned more regularly. In our room (#13), the air-conditioner was heavily clogged with dust when we arrived, to the point where the cooling performance was noticeably reduced. We politely mentioned this to the staff, and to their credit, the issue was addressed immediately. We were very grateful for their quick response. Since then, the unit has worked much better. There is still a slight musty smell, so a professional deep cleaning of the air-conditioning systems once or twice a year would likely improve both air quality and guest comfort. One thing we appreciated throughout our stay was the willingness of the staff to help whenever a problem was brought to their attention. Requests were handled quickly and professionally, which is one of the reasons we decided to extend our booking. As digital nomads, reliable internet and a functional workspace are very important to us. The internet connection was stable and fast enough for our daily work, often reaching download speeds of around 8–12 MB/s. We also received a chair and an extension cable upon request, allowing us to comfortably use the large dresser as a workspace for our laptops. This was greatly appreciated! The location is another strong point. Two large supermarkets are within a short walking distance, making it easy to buy groceries and daily necessities. The Night Market is also easily reachable on foot, and the main road is just around the corner, where electric scooters can usually be found for exploring Luang Prabang. If we could suggest one improvement, it would simply be a warmer atmosphere from some members of the staff. A smile is never mandatory, of course, but it often makes guests feel more welcome. We would like to give special recognition to the evening receptionist, who consistently greeted us with a friendly smile and positive attitude. Her kindness always stood out and left a very positive impression. Overall, we believe this hotel offers fair value for money, a convenient location, reliable internet, and a team that genuinely tries to help when issues arise. For those reasons, we chose to extend our stay and would recommend it to travelers looking for a comfortable base in Luang Prabang.

Location: Situated in the city center, it's incredibly convenient for getting around everywhere. The night market is less than a 10-minute walk away. Best of all, the delicious local restaurant, ”Atsalin Restaurant,” is right in front of the hotel, and it's always packed with both locals and tourists. Cleanliness: The basic cleanliness is excellent. There are indoor slippers provided, which helps keep dust to a minimum. Hotel Information: This hotel is a renovated traditional Laotian house. It's a two-story building, perfect for families traveling together. Service: Basic English communication is possible, and the owner provides great service. Breakfast: It's an à la carte breakfast, not a buffet. The standard menu includes fruit, toast, butter, eggs, and sausage. Local Travel Tip: Luang Prabang Waterfall is about 27km away. I went by motorbike, and it took about an hour each way. If you need gas, 50,000 LAK ($2.3) is more than enough. I didn't realize and filled up the tank (100,000 LAK), so I had 4/5 of the fuel left over.

This little guesthouse is Ideally located, quiet for sleeping, yet close enough to walk to all the old town sights (less than 10 minutes to the night market) and the Old French Bridge too. Breakfast can be eaten from the balcony on the upper floor with a view of the Mekong. Breakfast is basic, eggs in a range of ways, and despite oranges being in season, the juice wasn't real juice. The room isn't fancy but spacious enough and has all you need- good towels, small pkg of generic shampoo and soap. Water temperature varied. I stayed in 2 different rooms. A small downstairs windowless room, where the water was a bit too cool for my liking, and an upstairs room, with a, window, where the water was fine. Note: this is a guesthouse, not a hotel, so expect a toilet/shower combo. Some might find the mattress hard, but if you are used to backpacker travel in Asia, it is a typical matress, and more comfortable than some I have had in China, for example. The wifi was strong and reliable. Coffee (powered) coffee and tea available in the main reception area 24/7. I had hoped for some real Laotian coffee for breakfast. The food/drink options was why I rated the 'amenities' only a 3. Service was friendly and helpful (I needed help cleaning a shirt stained with oily soup - they prevailed!). Note: for laundry you pay by the kg. All in all, I would definitely stay here again. I felt safe, it was very clean, and you can't beat the location. Very good value for money.

Wonderful smaller hotel in a quiet part of Luang Prabang that doesn’t attract the large, noisy tourist groups. Hotel is right across the road from the Mekong river and breakfast is served on a platform overlooking the river which is extremely scenic and peaceful. The hotel is close to all the main attractions in the city and the host and staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Was delighted to stay here.

We had a very pleasant stay at Wisdom Mystery Hotel and would definitely stay here again. We booked a family room and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. It was much bigger than family rooms we’ve stayed in at similar hotels in the city. Our son especially loved the bathtub and the big screen TV, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The room was bright and filled with natural light thanks to the four windows and the balcony. It felt comfortable, airy, and was a great space for our family to relax. The front desk staff and management were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always happy to accommodate our requests. They made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. The location is excellent and, in our opinion, one of the best in Luang Prabang. The night market, great restaurants, pizzerias, and both the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers are all just a short walk away. We highly recommend Wisdom Mystery Hotel to anyone visiting Luang Prabang. It offers spacious rooms, wonderful service, and an unbeatable location.

There were some amenities which were a bit difficult to use such as the shower. But overall great room.

The landlord is not honest. When we asked him a bus ticket to Phonsavan he charged us more than 50%. Outrageous. Actually I knew the price in the beginning, so asked him if it should be about $12 but he insisted there was no way he could match that price. So funny. All he had to do was call and make a reservation for us, but instead he tried to get profit out of the reservation and charged $18 each. And we had to do nothing but trust him. However, when we arrived at the terminal, we realized that the one way ride to Phonsavan was even less that $11.30. I don't recommend this hotel run by this sly business man.

Decent Stay with a Few Trade-Offs The hotel is in an okay location—about a 5-minute drive from the Mekong River and its main attractions. There aren’t many restaurants nearby, but one unique experience is the alms-giving ceremony in the early morning around 5:30 AM. Since there’s a temple close by, you can watch the monks walk by right outside the hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and cleaned daily. They come with free Wi-Fi and air conditioning, which is a plus. The hotel also offers complimentary bikes for guests, making it easier to get around. However, the rooms are not soundproof. If you’re in the main building, expect to hear other guests having meals or moving around throughout the day. The noise can be an issue, especially in the mornings. Also, while the staff is helpful, the lack of nearby dining options or attractions means you’ll likely need to travel a bit for food and entertainment. Overall, it’s a comfortable stay if you’re okay with some noise and don’t mind venturing out for meals and activities.
