oxygenkingYou can watch the sunset over the ocean from the hotel entrance, but it's a bit of a walk to the beach. Costco is right next door, but dining options are a little further away. The room itself was decent, but there's no breakfast included.

ZhoujiajiaThe hotel has convenient parking and a great environment. The only downside is that you have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself. As for housekeeping, they won't clean your room unless you specifically ask them to, and you need to arrange it in advance. The in-room phone doesn't work, so you have to call the front desk on your mobile phone for any services you need.

trpcOne of the few hotels in Big Sur that allow you to book a one-night stay on a weekend so this is a huge plus. No reception nor staff on site when you check in - keys are left in a key box outside your assigned room (which you will be informed of a couple days before your arrival). If you need help during your stay, your only option is emailing them.
Rooms are dated but clean. No dining options on site so either eat before you arrive, bring supplies, or be prepared to drive >20min for the nearest restaurant.
Breakfast is left in a cabinet by the parking lot for self help. You get a slice of cake, boiled eggs, fruit and bottled juice.
In short, you're paying for location.

We stayed with our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children). The room was clean and spacious, and we had a comfortable stay. It is a little far from Fisherman's Wharf and the Aquarium of the Bay in the center of Monterey, about 15 minutes by car.

Location on foot to Morro Rock. Booked room on the 3rd floor was very clean and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was sufficient and was prepared and taken care of a very friendly and charming staffer (Shelbi). The hotel is a perfect recommendation for this hotel. We will stay here anytime.

The hotel noise insulation is not up to par, unfortunately seems like the neighbours like to run around upstairs or walks loudly.
Otherwise perfect location with starbucks next door.
Some weird policy guidelines that you need to sign on to check in.

Great location! I had a conference at the Monterey Conference which is less than a 3 min walk! Only thing was that there was no AC, I’m so used to assuming that hotels always have AC, but it was my bad for not checking ahead of time. I asked for a roll out bed, and they were able to provide that, depending on availability at no extra cost. Had a good stay! Quite historical hotel.

XIANGThe room is large, the double bed downstairs is concealed, very suitable, and clean. Hotel supplies are also good. recommend! Breakfast is very good for the American bar, and the self-baked waffles taste very good. There is parking.

The room was quite spacious and came equipped with a coffee maker and a microwave. I was assigned a first-floor room, and an elevator is also available for convenience. Overall, it's a nice hotel. The only minor issue was when I went to make coffee, I found a used coffee pod from the previous guest still left in the machine.
