4-Star Hotels in Dunhuang

After a trip to Northern Xinjiang with friends, we stopped by Dunhuang. I booked the Dunhuang Zhongzhou International Hotel based on Ctrip's hotel rankings. After checking in, I just had to praise the hotel's service; it feels like every staff member embodies a service-oriented mindset. The hotel offers airport/station pick-up service, and after making a reservation a day in advance, a hotel staff member quickly got in touch. Upon arrival at the airport, I easily connected with the pick-up vehicle and arrived smoothly at the hotel. During check-in, a staff member thoughtfully offered us tea. On the evening of our check-in, we could enjoy a complimentary bowl of noodles at the hotel restaurant, which was perfect for dinner since we arrived quite late. Additionally, the hotel offers a free 'Late Night Porridge' supper from 9 PM to 11 PM for guests who need it. The room was clean and tidy, with plenty of bottled water. Each room comes with a foot bath bucket, and the bathroom has two large rolls of toilet paper, unlike the smaller ones found in other hotels. Plus, the bathroom is equipped with a laundry basket and a convenient drying rack. The hotel also has a free laundry room, which is handy for travelers. We stayed for two days and happened to experience a sandstorm, so the washing machine came in very useful when we got back in the evening. The hotel's location is convenient; it's not far from nearby attractions and the night market, and taxis are easily accessible. The hotel's breakfast is also excellent. Guests can purchase breakfast vouchers for 30 RMB if needed, and staff members always greet you promptly when you arrive at the restaurant. During check-out, the front desk staff proactively helped push our luggage to the hotel entrance and waited until our taxi arrived and we got in before leaving. I've already recommended this hotel to friends and will definitely stay at Dunhuang Zhongzhou International Hotel again on my next visit to Dunhuang.

Staying at the Shazhou Night Market Atour is my top choice when visiting Dunhuang. The location is absolutely perfect – step right out into the night market for food and exploration, and it's super convenient to grab a taxi to Mingsha Mountain or the Mogao Grottoes. The rooms come with humidifiers, which is ideal for the dry climate in the Northwest. The zero-pressure mattress is a dream; after a long day of walking, you'll fall asleep instantly. For breakfast, they offer local lamb noodle soup and liangpi (cold noodles), and there's even a complimentary late-night congee, which is a lovely touch. The self-service laundry with a dryer is a lifesaver for washing off all the dust and sand from your clothes. The service is incredibly thoughtful. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit.

In gernarl the hotel is ok - clean, nice rooms and helpful staff. But it lacks lots of attention to detail. The upstairs terrace was dirty and not preperd to use (contrary to what the pictures on trip.com show). The area around the swimming pool could also look better and cleaner. Also, we arrived at 15.00 and our room was still not ready. Lots of good street food abalible for breakfast around the hotel. And the hotel has very good coffee.

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to the Northwest! It's relatively new, and they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a family room, which was incredibly spacious. It had a smart home system powered by Xiaodu, and the TCL Thunderbird TV was excellent, though I couldn't figure out where the set-top box was. The staff were all very polite and clearly well-trained, always greeting us. Parking right outside was also very convenient. Most importantly, the cleanliness, which is a big deal for me, was perfect. My only minor issue was when a housekeeper knocked and immediately opened the door to deliver something – it startled me! Luckily, I wasn't doing anything embarrassing, but it's something they might want to be a bit more mindful of. It's not a big deal though, so overall, I'm giving it 5 stars.

Environment: Newly renovated, warm, comfortable, spacious, and bright. Service: Excellent service. Location: Located near the Feitian landmark, within one kilometer of the night market, offering a quiet retreat amidst the bustling city.

Lovely place with central Asian vibe of Gobi desert in the room interior. Quite welcoming, generous and careful employees of Hotel. Breakfast in winter is served on tray without choice but seems you can have buffet at summer. Spacious newly build hotel with good ambiance.

This was my first stop in China and I’m so happy that I stayed in Dunhuang at Baibaili Hotel. I was looked after so well, the hospitality of the staff extended many times for several necessities and I’m touched by their hospitality. This will for a very long time, be my remarkable first impression of China, its people and their culture. The location is perfect if you want to stay a bit further out from town and enjoy the silence of being closer to the desert and the stunning design of the place. Beautiful and comfortable room, all the final touches refined every day and after 24 hrs of travelling; a generous fruit and snack plate that grounded me sweetly into Dunhuang upon arrival and farewelled me just after mid-autumn with a beautiful moon cake. Their communication was frequent and always made sure I had what I needed. Thank you so much Baibaili

There were a lot of people in the hotel lobby on the night of check-in. The front desk said that they had received a study tour group of 500 people, which delayed the check-in time. To express their apology, the front desk gave me some souvenirs and promised to take me to the night market in the evening. They were really sincere and I could see that the service awareness came from the heart and was not forced through training.

I chose this hotel for my trip, and the room was thoughtfully furnished. The twin beds were very spacious, and two adults could comfortably stay in one room. The bedding was clean, pure white, soft and gentle on the skin, and provided just the right amount of support. After a long day of business travel, I could fall asleep immediately. The upholstered headboard was a thoughtful touch, preventing discomfort when using my phone at night. The placement of power outlets and switches was also very convenient, making charging and controlling the lights easy. The hotel's attention to detail was evident; the throw pillows and bed runner were stylishly coordinated, not the generic hotel furnishings, but rather a comfortable and inviting touch. There was also a lounge chair by the window, perfect for relaxing in the afternoon sun or enjoying a cup of tea. Cleanliness was impeccable. The sheets and duvet covers were spotless and odorless, the floors and surfaces were impeccably clean, and the bathroom was spotless and tidy, giving me peace of mind. The staff were also very attentive, checking me in quickly and patiently answering any questions. Overall, the service was excellent, making me feel very comfortable. It's very close to the museum and Crescent Lake, making it very convenient to get around and providing a great experience. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, I highly recommend choosing this place!

This stay was absolutely delightful! I was initially worried about the location being a bit out of the way, so I only booked one night. To my surprise, getting a taxi on the first night was super easy, so we extended our stay. While there aren't other guesthouses right around ours, we noticed a whole street full of guesthouses nearby, which seemed crowded and noisy. At night, lying in bed, you can hear the wind brushing against the walls, but it's not loud; it actually feels like being in harmony with nature. My husband and I also went gold panning – if you find gold coins, you can exchange them for prizes. We went enthusiastically, expecting a small sandbox like in a park, but it was a massive area! **Mingsha Mountain View Afternoon Tea:** The chilled apricot peel tea was delicious. **Fengmingsha Desert Restaurant - 30% off coupon for set meals:** After we landed, the butler collected our luggage and told us hotpot was ready, just waiting for us to freshen up and eat. The lamb wasn't ***** at all, and the dipping sauce was really tasty.
