GGuest UserIdyllic and relaxing resort-like property in the countryside, yet only 5-15 minutes drive away from the airport and major attractions. We deliberately chose this semi-rural location for a peaceful rest after the long sunny visits to Mogao Grottoes and Mingsha Mountain. So happy with our choice.
The rooms are huge, new, clean and well furnished. The bed and duvet are luxuriously comfortable, it was so difficult to get out of bed.
Breakfast is in the beautiful dining room behind the main building, surrounded by the lush garden. The home-cooked light healthy breakfast was nourishing, a welcomed contrast to the heavy greasy food in restaurants.
The lobby has a convivial lounge area with generous supply of local snacks.
Most importantly, the service of the two bosses and their staff have been heartwarming and filled with love. We felt like guests in their home. One day my elderly dad didn't go out. The owners even took care of my dad by including him in their team lunch and showed him around the property garden. We were so touched.
Thank you Zhang An and team for this unforgettable lovely experience. We will be back.

GGuest UserThis guesthouse is truly unique! Each room is named after one of the twelve zodiac signs, with designs that blend local flair and astrological elements. In the evenings, you can go stargazing, with options for an indoor lecture and actual observation from the rooftop. The instructor mentioned that summer is the best season for stargazing, and if you want to spot your own zodiac constellation, it's best to visit around two months before or after its designated month. They even gave us wishing bottles for our own zodiac signs, which we filled with sand from Mingsha Mountain the next day to take home!
The host is incredibly warm and helpful; you can ask her about local tourism, car rentals, and more – she's very considerate. Breakfast is different every day, with a thoughtful and nutritious selection. There's also an adorable cat who loves to 'accompany' you during meals, often sitting on a chair. She gets so happy if you share half an egg yolk with her every morning! She also recently had three tiny, adorable kittens!
The guesthouse features a classroom and a spacious, bright lobby, making it feel especially suitable for study tour groups. We initially planned to stay two nights but loved it so much we extended for another night. The village atmosphere is quiet and comfortable, and it's about a 15-minute taxi ride to Shazhou Night Market and around 20 minutes to the train station, so transportation is very convenient.
Highly recommend for family trips and educational tours!

XXiaoQbumojiOverall, I'm satisfied. The price isn't expensive, so it offers decent value for money.
Facilities: The room itself is quite good, on par with your typical Mercure or Ji Hotel in a city. However, there's a disconnect with the public facilities like the laundry room, elevators, and restaurant, which are a bit subpar, more like a guesthouse.
Environment: It's right next to the night market, so the location is excellent. There's also a shuttle bus across the street that goes to the Mogao Grottoes.
Hygiene: There were some blind spots for cleanliness. On the day I checked in, there was still a positioning sticker from the previous guest's bathtub liner stuck to the tub. It's not a major issue, but it does show the level of hygiene.
For around 200 yuan, it's a very good price. If it were peak season, they'd need to improve a bit more. I regret not taking photos of the interior, but the hotel's pictures are accurate and trustworthy; the actual room is exactly as shown.

NNanjingxiaoyimaThis B&B in Mingsha Mountain truly captures the romance of the desert. 🌌
I thought desert accommodations would be just okay, but I was blown away by the backyard. The expansive space felt like a secret hideaway, completely capturing all the joy I had in Dunhuang!
After a day of fun at Mingsha Mountain, come back and continue your fun in the backyard. Play in the sand right at your feet. If you're bringing kids, they can spend an entire afternoon in the sand.
The best part is the backyard pool! In the evening, soak in the water and watch the desert sunset. The setting sun paints the sand a golden red, and every photo you take is cinematic. 🌇
At night, it's even more stunning! In the light-pollution-free courtyard, grab a small stool and lie back to gaze at the stars. Even your breathing slows down...
The room itself is a true lover of detail!!! Smart lighting, air conditioning, and curtains respond to calls. A minibar and humidifier are also included. Coming back from a tiring day, it's incredibly comfortable to lie back.
When you're not rushing, spend the whole day in the backyard. Playing in the sand, swimming, picnicking, stargazing... It turns out slow living in the desert can be so enjoyable!

MMingxiaozheStaying at Atour really gives you a sense of peace and comfort. The lobby has a strong scholarly atmosphere that instantly helps you unwind. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, ensuring a good night's sleep. Breakfast offered a wide variety, and there was even heartwarming congee for the late-night snack. The service was incredibly attentive, from serving tea to offering bottled water upon departure – every detail showed genuine warmth. Next time I'm in Dunhuang, and for future travels, this Atour will definitely remain my top choice!

GGuest UserWhen traveling to Dunhuang, I wanted to book a quiet hotel and chose this hotel. The result was unexpectedly good. Not only was it quiet, but the environment was also very good and very cultural. The preface to the Lanting Collection was carved on the wall of the lobby. I heard it was written by the boss. . The service was also very friendly. Check-in was quick, they answered all our questions and sent us to the room. The room is also very warm, the facilities are new and complete, and there is a humidifier. It is really good to have a humidifier in Northwest China. The bathtub also comes with a disposable bathtub cover, so you can take a bath with confidence. I came back very late from my trip to the Western Front. I asked for two extra pairs of slippers, which were delivered quickly. Good hotel, good service!

GGuest UserI chose this hotel for my trip, and the room was thoughtfully furnished. The twin beds were very spacious, and two adults could comfortably stay in one room. The bedding was clean, pure white, soft and gentle on the skin, and provided just the right amount of support. After a long day of business travel, I could fall asleep immediately. The upholstered headboard was a thoughtful touch, preventing discomfort when using my phone at night. The placement of power outlets and switches was also very convenient, making charging and controlling the lights easy. The hotel's attention to detail was evident; the throw pillows and bed runner were stylishly coordinated, not the generic hotel furnishings, but rather a comfortable and inviting touch. There was also a lounge chair by the window, perfect for relaxing in the afternoon sun or enjoying a cup of tea. Cleanliness was impeccable. The sheets and duvet covers were spotless and odorless, the floors and surfaces were impeccably clean, and the bathroom was spotless and tidy, giving me peace of mind. The staff were also very attentive, checking me in quickly and patiently answering any questions. Overall, the service was excellent, making me feel very comfortable.
It's very close to the museum and Crescent Lake, making it very convenient to get around and providing a great experience. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, I highly recommend choosing this place!

SSimona F.I loved the Courtyard B&B. The rural but very chic style. My room was generous, furnishing in the same traditional style. Clean throughout
The reception area very attractive and provides nice secluded spaces for relaxing- working in my case) under Bamboo trees and mandala decorated glasses of the ceiling. Very peaceful.
I very much appreciated the presence of a kittens with mum and a little doggie which I perceived like mascotte of the place. They were very well maintained and cared of. The stuff is very nice and helpful and we were able to understand each others in some way. I highly recommend this accomodation both for holiday and work.

Very Good
CChaotiandejuzichaLet's start with the positives: The lobby, outdoor public areas, and room decor are all stunning and very picturesque, perfect for photos. The mattress and bedding are also very comfortable. The room has underfloor heating, which is a great touch.
Now for the negatives: 1. While the room's furniture and layout are quite stylish, the bathroom and shower room feel like something out of a rental apartment, creating a bit of a disconnect. Also, the shower room's design is impractical; there's nowhere to hang clothes inside. This means you have to undress in the main room before entering the shower and then undress again to come out after showering. This is extremely cold in winter, and what if there are other people in the room? 2. The showerhead is incredibly difficult to regulate the water temperature. It's either too cold or too hot, and every few minutes, it suddenly resets from 37° to 15° (without any manual adjustment), turning ice cold. You then have to adjust it again, which is a terrible experience. Last night, I was doused with cold water twice (with outdoor temperatures below freezing). 3. For a hotel costing around 1000 yuan, the breakfast is very basic. It only offers croissants, eggs, milk, pickled vegetables, and Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles (we had to take our breakfast to go as we were leaving early, and we didn't get to eat it. The reason for taking it to go is that breakfast doesn't start until 8:30 AM, which is too late if you're trying to visit the Mogao Grottoes or other attractions).
I suggest the guesthouse improves these shortcomings. For the first two nights in Dunhuang, we stayed at another hotel that was cheaper but offered a much better experience, at least the breakfast was much more varied and started at 7 AM. Here, we stayed for two nights, and the breakfast was exactly the same both days.

AAnonymous UserIf life is a never-ending journey, then the camping trip at the Desert Star Hotel is undoubtedly a highlight of my journey.
When I arrived at the campsite, the first thing that attracted me was the unique tent house. Unlike regular tents, the top of the tent is made of special transparent materials, like a huge viewing platform, which builds a bridge of communication between me and the vast galaxy. As night fell, I couldn't wait to lie on the soft bed, and when I looked up, the bright starry sky was presented to me without reservation. The stars twinkled, like gems inlaid on the black sky, beautiful as a dream. At that moment, the world seemed to press the mute button, and the impetuousness and noise in my heart were instantly soothed. The unique beauty of this quietness made me intoxicated.
It is worth mentioning that the hotel staff is very considerate. After placing the order, the customer service guy at the front desk added our contact information and gave us some local travel tips, which saved us a lot of time. From the warm reception at check-in, to the careful guidance during the activities, to the warm greetings at night, every detail made people feel cared for. They not only provided me with thoughtful service, but also made me feel the simplicity and enthusiasm of the desert people.
This desert camping trip not only allowed me to appreciate the magnificent scenery of the desert, but also experienced exciting and interesting activities, which became an eternal and beautiful memory in my heart.
