"My biggest anticipation for this Dunhuang trip was the desert camping, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations – I absolutely have to give it a five-star review! The campsite location is excellent, with expansive views. All you see are continuous sand dunes, majestic and therapeutic. The natural beauty is stunning even without filters. As soon as we arrived, the atmosphere captivated us. Every casual shot turned into a masterpiece; it's incredibly photogenic! The desert, sunset, tents, bonfire, and starry sky – every angle looked great. Whether it was atmospheric backdrops, sunset silhouettes, or epic desert shots, the raw photos were super beautiful. Sisters who love photography will definitely get their fill here."

"Choosing this desert camp hotel is an absolute no-brainer; you won't be disappointed. The location information is transparent and readily available, right on the east side of Mingsha Mountain, offering exclusive access to a sand dune, making it incredibly quiet and pleasant. The room amenities are mostly complete and feature major brands, plus they provide complimentary snacks and plenty of bottled water. The butler service is also excellent, responding to requests 24/7 and offering activities like travel photography and ATV experiences, ensuring both a happy stay and fun activities. However, since it's deep in the desert, you'll need to tolerate some dust. Also, the electric kettle in my room was broken, so I'd recommend that they promptly check and update the room equipment."

"I originally chose this place because it's within a 15-minute walk to the middle gate of Mingsha Mountain, and for just over 300 yuan a night, you can see the stars. It exceeded my expectations, so I had to write a proper review! P1-3: The room was very clean, with no unpleasant odors. The skylight for stargazing was as big as the bed, and sunlight streamed in when it was open! The TV was a Xiaomi, and the toilet and shower were all in great condition. I saw the Big Dipper from bed at night—absolutely amazing! P4: The guesthouse is family-run. At noon, I heard the owner's mother calling ”Lunch is ready!” Since I was traveling alone, the hospitable owner invited me to join them. So, we all squeezed together at the table, chatting and laughing, and the moment reminded me of many tranquil and beautiful movies. P5-7: Because it was before the May Day holiday, the guesthouse wasn't busy, and I was invited to try the food and have a barbecue at the Western restaurant near the entrance. The owner took me to the market to have freshly cut Aksai lamb! PS: The Western restaurant was delicious!! You can tell from the pictures! P8: After returning from Mingsha Mountain in the evening, seeing the room door was truly therapeutic! INFP understands! I highly recommend this guesthouse. Firstly, the accommodation is very comfortable, and secondly, it was a long-lost relaxing and warm experience for someone like me who's been working like a dog for so long!"

"Overall, I'm satisfied. The price isn't expensive, so it offers decent value for money. Facilities: The room itself is quite good, on par with your typical Mercure or Ji Hotel in a city. However, there's a disconnect with the public facilities like the laundry room, elevators, and restaurant, which are a bit subpar, more like a guesthouse. Environment: It's right next to the night market, so the location is excellent. There's also a shuttle bus across the street that goes to the Mogao Grottoes. Hygiene: There were some blind spots for cleanliness. On the day I checked in, there was still a positioning sticker from the previous guest's bathtub liner stuck to the tub. It's not a major issue, but it does show the level of hygiene. For around 200 yuan, it's a very good price. If it were peak season, they'd need to improve a bit more. I regret not taking photos of the interior, but the hotel's pictures are accurate and trustworthy; the actual room is exactly as shown."

"Everything was perfect and very comfortable. The attention to detail was exceptional: the bedding was high quality and clean, and the pillows and mattress had just the right firmness. The interior design felt like a museum, full of historical charm. I particularly loved the furniture and decorations, which had a unique style. I saw some comments about a planned renovation, and if that's the case, please, please retain the original high-quality marble and Chinese-style furniture. This level of craftsmanship is rare to find nowadays. Honestly, I don't think a renovation is necessary, just as the Mogao Grottoes don't need rebuilding. The current aesthetic of the estate is excellent. Any renovation should be approached with extreme caution, so it doesn't end up like the unartistic Buddha statues rebuilt after Wang Daoshi sold off the scriptures, turning a museum into a small-town hotel. Trends come and go, but classics are forever. The 'quanyi' (horseshoe-back armchairs) and wardrobes in each room, along with the ethnic-style throw pillows, cushions, and curtains, are absolutely beautiful. The faucets and furniture handles are brass, which is hard to find in furniture today. The Arrow brand bathroom fixtures are of great quality. The combination of blue and white porcelain with sandstone is perfect. My only two minor points are: firstly, the sink in the room drains a bit slowly. It doesn't affect usability, but it could use a clearing. Secondly, the toilet in the Fengguo Ancestral Temple bathroom could be replaced, and the cold dressed jelly ear mushroom dish could use a little less oil."

"The hotel I stayed at in Dunhuang was quite interesting, called Dunhuang Hotel, but it's actually just a small three-story hotel. **1. Rooms and Facilities:** I'd advise you to book a twin room, as they are very spacious. The single or queen rooms, on the other hand, are incredibly small, I'm not sure what the design idea was there. What's truly frustrating is the poor soundproofing; you can hear people jumping around upstairs, which is really annoying. **2. Price and Service:** Even during the off-season in Dunhuang, this hotel wasn't particularly cheap, but overall, it was acceptable. The service was also quite ordinary. I was shocked at check-in when, even at 3 PM, my room wasn't ready yet, which felt absurd. I initially wanted to switch rooms, but ended up not doing so. **3. Dining and Amenities:** The hotel doesn't offer complimentary breakfast. If you ask about it, they'll just tell you to pay extra. Of course, eating out in Dunhuang is also an option. **4. Complimentary Activities:** The hotel also offers a so-called ”Western Splendor Tour” or something similar. However, it's a group tour with over 50 people. How do these large bus tours make money, you ask? It's all through commission on ticket sales. So, overall, this hotel is quite average. The kickbacks are significant; for about 40 people, they can get around 1,000 RMB back, meaning 20-30 RMB per person. Because that tour route has so many scenes and attractions, it's all about earning commission. Therefore, I truly don't recommend this hotel. Maybe someone on Xiaohongshu recommended it, so I tried it, but it would have been better to just go for a more standardized option like an All Seasons or Hanting."

"The common areas are fantastic, and the sofas are incredibly comfortable! They even show movies at night, and for lunch, they offer a shared meal for just 25 RMB per person. "This Dunhuang trip specially chose this desert tent camp, the overall stay experience is very satisfactory, completely exceeding expectations! Compared with the surrounding camps, the biggest advantage here is that there are few people and quiet, not crowded and noisy, and the immersive desert experience is full. The service is particularly intimate, the staff is gentle, the response is timely, and the car is also intimately assisted in docking and picking up vehicles and carrying luggage, saving worry and effort throughout the whole process, and there is no invisible consumption. The facilities are very complete, the interior of the tent is clean and tidy, the dust and moisture prevention effect is very good, it will not be full of sand, the basic living is fully equipped, and the accommodation comfort is far more than expected for desert camping. The environment experience is excellent, the camp has a wide view and unobstructed, you can overlook the entire vast sand sea during the day, the sunset scenery in the evening is beautiful, there is no light pollution at night, the sky is full of stars, clear galaxies, and the original picture of the photo is very direct. The park has its own set of desert play projects, the hotel special car pick-up point, one-stop play is particularly convenient, the comprehensive cost performance is at the top level in the Dunhuang desert camp, it is worth staying!"

"Overall Review: Excellent, perfect for family trips. Choosing the right hotel for this trip to Dunhuang with the kids was absolutely fantastic! The family suite we stayed in was tailor-made for families with young children. The room was even more spacious than expected. There was a small loft inside, which the kids immediately turned into their secret base, running up and down countless times. The biggest plus of this room was the view from the window! It faced the undulating sand dunes, absolutely magnificent. Opening the curtains in the morning and seeing the endless sand dunes right before our eyes was truly breathtaking. Entertainment: There were swings and a sandpit in the courtyard for the kids to play, while we adults played mahjong in the room. Everyone had something to do, and the owner's mahjong machine was free. Dining: Authentic Dunhuang cuisine. We were worried the kids wouldn't like the Northwest food, but the guesthouse's food was fantastic! Highly recommend the braised mutton with flatbread and the donkey meat noodles. The mutton was tender and flavorful, and the noodles were chewy and delicious. Even our usually picky eater had an extra bowl. Breakfast also included a local specialty, mutton soup with rice noodles, which was delicious. Transportation: We drove here. The guesthouse had a spacious parking lot, which was very convenient for families with lots of luggage. It's just a few minutes' drive to Crescent Lake, perfect for climbing the sand dunes to watch the sunset in the evening; it's also about 10 minutes to Dunhuang city center, very close to buying snacks and fruit or going to the Shazhou Night Market."
