Xi Ye is really great!! I had a super comfortable stay here. The room was very clean, and most importantly, the owner was incredibly kind. He even took us to Mingsha Mountain in his tricycle and picked us up again. Staying here was so great – the joy of climbing the sand dunes without having to walk down! Plus, it was very quiet at night, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Just stepping outside, you'd see a whole courtyard of stars, and I could even see the sand dunes from my room. The value for money is amazing, really!!!

The B&B is relatively close to Mingsha Mountain, and it is 800 meters to the middle gate on foot. The house is of decent size and has plenty of hot water, but the facilities in the house still need to be improved. There are disposable towels, bath towels, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and a washing machine. The overall hygiene is good. The brother at the front desk is very enthusiastic and answers all questions. The boss also provided a lot of daily necessities. He is really thoughtful. He added them on WeChat and sent us the route to play. The specialties of Dunhuang are delicious. There are also two very cute kittens at the front desk. In short, it is highly recommended.

Then I took a look at the facade and I didn't like it. I didn't want to stay there at the time, because I am a little picky when staying in hotels. I must have a good environment at night to sleep well. My boyfriend persuaded me that it was really good and I should go and have a look. At the door, I was still asking the boss if I could see the room first. The boss was super nice and said yes on the phone gently. He took us to see it. As a result, my God, it was much better than I imagined, super clean, with that kind of simple Chinese style. It's just that the facade is not very good-looking, but I believe you will definitely like it inside. 👍Because we also looked at hotels with good facades, but they were very dirty inside, so staying in such a hotel in Dunhuang is really a joy in the trip, and I also praised my boyfriend who chose a hotel for the first time😃

We said we were going to Crescent Lake and Mingsha Mountain. The boss took the initiative to drive us to the Middle Gate, saying that we could save 20 yuan on the shuttle bus fare. The next day, we signed up for a tour group to go out and play. The boss also sent us to the boarding point early in the morning. The boss was afraid that it would be inconvenient to go back after the Crescent Lake Music Festival, so he also came to pick us up, making our travel very convenient. The accommodation environment is also very good, and the steamed bun for breakfast is particularly large.

The hotel is located outside the city of Dunhuang, in fact, I never visited the city. But it's close to the train station and to the Mogao Caves Visitor Center, which is the reason most people come to Dunhuang. The staff does not speak English but will try to help you as much as possible, with a cell phone translator. The room was very big, I would say it was the biggest so far, very comfortable, with a view of an agricultural field. At night, if the sky is clear, you can watch the stars since there is no light pollution. The nearest restaurant was about 600 m away, and they had to call the cook to come from home when I got there. After that I decided to dine on instant noodles. The hotel staff invited me to eat dinner with their family. I noticed that later in the evening a bus full of tourist arrived to the hotel. Apparently that's who they cater for. Since I did not get up early, the breakfast was basically finished and cold.
