Dunhuang Hotels with Bars

Staying at a tent hotel right next to Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake was an incredible experience! It truly captures the romance between the sand and the oasis. We chose the Desert Starry Sky Ziwei Garden Tent Hotel, which is within walking distance of the Mingsha Mountain scenic area. However, the hotel was incredibly thoughtful and provided a private car to take us to the attractions. I originally thought a desert tent would be quite basic, but upon arrival, I was immediately drawn to its blend of ancient charm and modern design. The scenery, especially at sunset, was breathtaking – like a beautiful silhouette. The reflections of the sunrise and sunset on the water were so romantic... The hotel facilities are exceptionally well-equipped, with air conditioning, humidifiers, showers, and wet/dry separation. The bedding was super comfortable, and the fridge was stocked with various drinks. We enjoyed wonderful song and dance performances, savored the unique flavors of desert BBQ, and even rode camels... Our one-on-one butler provided attentive service, sharing stories of the starry sky and the romance of the frontier, as if centuries of romance were waiting to be discovered. It felt like we traveled through time to appreciate the desert's grandeur with ancient people! This was truly a fantastic and joyful trip! 🌹🌹👏👏

Out of our 9-day trip along the Qinghai-Gansu Loop, this homestay was our family's absolute favorite. It's a place with real heart and soul, where every detail is thoughtfully considered. Even our five-year-old said he'd give this hotel 30 stars! The homestay has a great design aesthetic, and the rooms are spotless, perfectly matching the tastes and ideas of younger travelers. We always bring our own disposable toiletries when we travel, but here, everything was already provided in the room. I also really loved the landlady – she's just one of those people you instantly like, and it was so comfortable interacting with her. From the moment we checked into the homestay in Dunhuang, we had such a positive impression of the city. Even though our stay was brief, it's full of beautiful memories. When we were leaving, she found out my child liked apricots and even gave him some from her own yard, which was incredibly touching. The breakfast offered a wide variety, and it was all very enjoyable. I truly recommend this homestay if you're coming to Dunhuang. I hope everyone gets to experience the genuine warmth and hospitality during their travels here. Their raisins are also highly recommended!

The environment is quiet and elegant, the decor is unique and stylish, and the room is clean, tidy, and thoughtfully arranged with a cozy feel. The facilities are complete and functional, and the natural light and ventilation are excellent. The location is convenient and easy to find, making sightseeing and getting around incredibly hassle-free. The owner is warm, attentive, and thoughtful, providing excellent and personalized service. Overall, the stay was comfortable and pleasant, far exceeding expectations. I genuinely recommend it!

I've always wanted to experience desert tenting, and after careful consideration, I chose Windy. The location is perfect, with sand dunes just outside. The tents are in excellent condition, and the ensuite bathrooms have plenty of hot and cold water. The service was excellent, with prompt responses from the housekeepers, and the staff in the restaurant and activities were also very helpful and welcoming. Camel rides and ATV pickups are available right outside the room, which was a big plus. We were finally taken back to the city in a Mercedes-Benz van!

I absolutely loved the hotel's 'wild luxury' aesthetic – it's simple yet grand, with a unique and pleasant aroma. 3. The hotel's travel photography service is outstanding! I got the best set of photos I've ever had. Both the makeup artist and photographer were incredibly professional. I was instantly thrilled with the retouched photos just 5 minutes after the shoot, and even more delighted to learn they'd spend another three days on meticulous post-processing. The terrace above the lobby offers a fantastic photo op, especially with the red canopy against the desert backdrop – it's truly magnificent and a unique scene. 4. Given how dry Dunhuang is, the hotel thoughtfully provided complimentary face masks and lotion. 5. They also offered a free transfer to my next hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and the experience was truly excellent in every way. The property is well-maintained, clean, and welcoming, with bright spaces and designer furnishings. The room was spacious, quiet, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay (complimentary Perrier and still water, L’Occitane toiletries, fresh and dried fruits, bathtub). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to respond with a smile and offer helpful advice to make your stay even better. Breakfast was rich, varied, and made with excellent quality products. A note about the free airport/station pick-up service. 10 out of 10!

I highly recommend this hotel to those who drive to Dunhuang with their kids. It has a bathtub, which the kids love very much. The room facilities are very complete, the environment is very good, and it is not far from the attractions. Every service staff is very enthusiastic, especially the lobby manager. Yogurt is given when you check in, and plush toys are given when you check out. The kids like it very much and said they will stay here again next time. Highly recommended. Very cost-effective.

Staying at this place in Dunhuang was such a pleasant surprise! First off, the overall environment is incredibly clean, and the style is unique. The room amenities are comprehensive, with thoughtful touches like eye masks and earplugs. The smart home controls throughout the room were a huge plus for someone as lazy as me! And I was thrilled to find that the toiletries were Diptyque, a brand I actually use myself – it instantly made me feel right at home and relaxed. We also got to experience making fun mud slab paintings at the guesthouse, which was a fantastic hands-on activity that made our leisure time incredibly fulfilling. Lastly, a big shout-out to the staff; they were attentive and enthusiastic without being intrusive, always providing just the right amount of care. The breakfast and afternoon tea were also very generous; my friend and I couldn't even finish it all! The entire stay was relaxing and enjoyable. If our itinerary hadn't been so tight, I honestly would have loved to stay a few more nights.

The hotel isn't far from the airport, maybe a little over 10 kilometers. Following the navigation, I saw a new building that looked like a museum, and only when I turned the corner did I realize it was the hotel. Ida at the front desk was excellent during check-in, very professional. Since I booked two rooms, she specially arranged connecting rooms for us. The hotel lobby is also very well-designed and grand. The bar seems to have a good variety of craft beers and cocktails, a nice spot to relax in the evening.

I brought my parents to Dunhuang, and our family had a comfortable and peaceful stay, so I wanted to share an honest review. Before we arrived, I booked the hotel's free pick-up service. The hotel's private car was waiting for us punctually at the station. The warmth of the people in Northwest China was evident from the moment we arrived; the driver proactively helped us with our large luggage, saving my parents from having to carry heavy bags. We were smoothly transported to the hotel, without having to worry about finding a taxi. During the ride, the driver also shared travel tips for Dunhuang, which was incredibly helpful for those traveling with elderly parents. This free service offers unbeatable value for money. However, the driver did receive several calls during our ride from guests who had already arrived and needed immediate pick-up, which put him in a difficult position. I'd advise everyone to book with the hotel in advance, as it's a dedicated service, and I understand the challenges they face. Stepping into the room was a pleasant surprise. The hotel had already prepared local dried fruits and apricot tea. After a long journey, we were all parched, and my parents repeatedly praised the apricot tea. The dried fruits were generously portioned. These simple gifts showed how well the hotel understands the fatigue of travelers; their attention to detail was exceptional, and I was truly grateful. The hotel's location is truly impeccable and incredibly convenient for getting around. It's just a short walk to Shazhou Night Market, where we took my parents to explore and enjoy local specialties in the evening. Dunhuang Bookstore is also nearby, perfect for a leisurely stroll to browse books. The museum is also very close. Dunhuang's streets are clean and flat, making it safe for seniors to walk around. Although it's near a commercial area, the soundproofing in the guest rooms is excellent, so it was very quiet at night, and we slept wonderfully. The front desk staff also patiently shared local sightseeing routes. From the complimentary pick-up service and the thoughtful snacks in the room, to the convenient location and the new, well-equipped facilities, our entire experience was excellent. The attention to detail shows that this hotel genuinely considers its guests. It's suitable for solo travelers, couples, or families, and our stay was a perfect 10/10.
