4-Star Hotels in Tongren

Nestled by the mountains and river, the environment is absolutely top-notch. The owner is incredibly kind, and the breakfast is exceptional for a B&B. The decor is thoughtfully designed by the owner's family. It's perfect for family trips, team building, or even a solo relaxing getaway. You could easily stay for several days. Most importantly, I found this to be one of the cleanest B&Bs I've ever stayed in.

A few days before arrival, I requested contact via wechat through Trip.com and got a response from the B & B. From our first contact, the B & B was so helpful in answering my queries and putting my mind at rest. They recommended getting a taxi or DIDI from the train station. I used the DIDI App and took a DIDI  from the station to the B & B. It took us an hour 20 minutes and I was in constant communication with the B & B. Upon arrival, a male staff (feels like the owner) approached to greet me and take my luggage. The B & B had a very calm atmosphere as you walk through the serene garden and the pool on the right hand side. The B & B only opened last year (2025) and it looks very stylish and modern with clean lines. The male staff who greeted me when I first arrived was very helpful throughout my stay and we communicated mostly by wechat. His son was also very adorable who hung out in the lobby. Breakfast was simple but filling and it came with the room I stayed in. I would highly recommend this B & B as it is the best in the area and just looking around would support that.

The hotel is easy to find; I saw it as soon as I got off the bus at Dongmen, just a few minutes' walk from there. The front desk staff were very friendly and recommended an excellent restaurant where I even got a discount. They also thoughtfully upgraded my room upon check-in. The room itself was great – clean, tidy, with smart features, direct drinking water, a balcony, and a huge TV. Even the toilet was smart, with a heated seat. The hotel lobby is spacious and has large, free lockers for luggage storage. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay.

Seeking a peaceful retreat, I blindly picked 'Yunfuli Hidden Retreat' tucked away in Zhaisha Dong Village for my trip to Fanjingshan, and I was absolutely blown away! The guesthouse's design philosophy is 'return to simplicity,' with its courtyard brimming with plants. The new Chinese-style garden, combined with the traditional Dong stilt houses, makes every photo-op a masterpiece. My favorite part was the tea set in the room; brewing a pot of Fanjing Cuiya with mountain spring water, sitting by the window watching the misty mountains, and listening to the birdsong instantly brought a sense of calm. There's none of the pretentiousness of a star-rated hotel here, only a reassuring 'host culture' and a slow pace of life. It's the perfect place to unwind for the weekend!

The hotel room is spacious with all necessary amenities. The small garden is lovely and is right on a dragon pool in Yunshe scenic area. The hotel staff are helpful and attentive. The only issue is their advertisement in Trip.com for a railway station transfer at 100RMB while in fact it turns out to be a chartered driver who charged 200RMB to Tongren railway station. Other than that issue, the hotel is a perfect rest stop before or after climbing Mount Fanjing. The Yunshe scenic area itself is also charming, not too touristic. It is good to see daily slow life activities like gardening, people herding flock of ducks back home, women washing clothes on a nearby stream etc. There are a few building construction going on, perhaps new hotels are being built. I hope that it will not rush the village into mass tourist attraction.

There are several hotels along this riverbank, and this one has the best location. The price difference isn't significant either. The rooms are spacious, and the facilities are all new; I'm very satisfied. You can play in the river, or sit in the lobby watching the water flow quietly while sipping a cup of hot tea.

Of all the hotels I've stayed at during my trip to Guizhou, this one was by far the best experience. Not only are the facilities great, but the service is excellent too. Plus, the hotel has a water play area downstairs, which is perfect for families traveling with kids in the summer. Highly recommended and definitely worth it!

A hidden gem! This resort type of hotel is so rare in the area. We opted for this hotel for the gorgeous courtyard type of layout. The hotel deserves the attention and my lengthy review as the architect/ designer has such an exquisite taste which shows off in the smallest details. The select of burl wood trims with marble patterns, stylish lighting fixtures… Rooms are spacious and full of technology. Bathroom with heat floor and even ironized glass which offers instant privacy with a click of a button. This hotel alone is worth couple nights of stay where one could plan a getaway from the city life and fully immerse themselves in the hotel’s garden trails. This hotel is great for tourists who prioritize monetary value as It’s essentially a five star luxury resort for a fraction of the price. However, for those who enjoy a slower pace and a peaceful atmosphere away from the busy tourisy area it offers more. This hotel had become an integral part of my spiritual retreat escaping city and exploring the FANJING mountain area. Welcome fruit and snacks as well as a mountaineering gift bag are provided when you check in. , compared with the environment and facilities, the price is very good. There is a business downstairs, which is very convenient for eating. What is particularly worth mentioning is the attentive and attentive reception at the hotel's front desk. It feels like a five-star hotel butler. It is recommended to stay here when visiting Fanjing Mountain. The price/performance ratio is excellent.

The hotel itself is great, amazing location and amazing room, like really fancy looking and great for the paid price, they give two towels, toiletries and loads of extra. I just feel like they made a super fancy room but the building is really fatiscent, Therese an empty and rotten pool at the entrance, seem good so a little fix could make the guest even more welcome, same for hot water, was just warm both the day I stayed lad didn’t complain but I bet people would be happy to pay even more for such a nice place with some extra services that are basically already there
